Love this pattern! Just a hint with Tunisian ( learned from my mom). When you're skipping stitches to make an opening, slip stitch through the top of the skipped stitches. This not only eliminates the carried yarn but gives you a finished edge. Thanks for bringing back the old patterns!
Great tip!
Do you mean slip stitch with a regular (separate) crochet hook? Tunisian crochet is totally new to me, but that part I was thinking there has to be a better way! LOL
@@elissa.g.26 you work a slip stitch in the stitches you are skipping using the same hook. You wind up with the same amount of loops on your hook as you had before the skipped stitches, and you finish the row normally. Coming back you chain the same amount as the skipped stitches and finish that row as usual.
@@janicepaull1500 thank you!
I love when you model the stuff at the end. You always pull off whatever it is. You always look so stunning and I love the patterns you pick. ❤❤❤
Thank you so much!!
I usually just watch your mystery videos and I admit sometimes I get very frustrated watching you try to work out a pattern. You have done a great job on this tutorial. I am very much enjoying it.
I get frustrated trying to work them out! lol
I made a scarf with this stitch years ago, but nothing as sophisticated as this. It was simply a big old rectangle.
@@saracollette-iu3ei Me too. I had no idea how versatile it could be.
You look so cute. I think you are an old soul at heart. This is your era. Glamour, glamour, glamour! I love it. I wish we would see more beautiful fashions and fewer t-shirts and jeans. Comfort counts, I know, but it is nice to see people dress up.
Loving this scarf and hat set even more than the gray one. So glam.
I love your channel so much, you make me happy. Your sweet voice and funny mistakes make me feel better when I don't feel well. I really love this pattern. The way the stitches lay back to back and no spaces between is very satisfying. I love knitting because the stitches are nice and tight laying together and they stay stretchy. I used to use my crochet hooks to knit I didn't know it's actually a different type of crochet technique until I was older. I started weaving when I was seven years old and I didn't have to learn, I just knew how to weave. I watched my neighbor crocheting on her front porch and I asked if I could sit at her feet and watch her. She gave me my first crochet kit for my seventh birthday and I was able to show her that I was learning from watching her. I ended up wanting to knit and I didn't have a needle so I used a crochet hook with a large bead I stuck on the back of the hook. It was awesome. I made a scarf and I still have the scarf, it's a beautiful green scarf that I have in my bedroom. It looks like it was knitted but nope I crochet it with a modified hook. 😊❤ Also, I think this project would be nice to wear even today because old fashions are trending. People are crocheting and knitting more now. The internet is bringing back old crafting skills and techniques. Even young people are learning new skills. Fashion is a mix between modern and old.
My great grandma used Tunisian crochet for the center of her afghan blankets. She would then cross stitch different patterns or logos in the middle. Tunisian crochet is very close to my heart and it is super addictive!
You look so beautiful in that color and the 1938 style suits you! Love, love, love your channel. You, with all of your experience crocheting, making mistakes and having to sometimes try things several times before they work out really gives me hope while working on my own projects! Thank you so much!
You are so rocking that new hat and scarf!
So happy - just opened the video to write this comment, saving watching it until I'm ready to follow along 😁with my NEWLY PURCHASED Tunisian crochet hooks !
And her videos are SO GREAT to work from! Good luck, I'm sure yours will turn out fantastic!

Love, love, love this. I’m not a hat wearing person and probably won’t make it for myself but I love the look. Now the scarf is great and I probably will make it. Great job explaining.
Again, You nailed it!!! You look fantastic as always and what a beautiful stitch. Looking forward to more Tunisian tutorials. Thank you for making it look so easy. 🍁
This is soooo you!! And it seems to make you happy. I’m working on some special projects right now, but it’s already spring here in Florida. I just turned the air back on today!! So I have all summer to catch up and start new things. I think this would help me to stay warm in church! It’s a true fashion statement.
You look so lovely in these vintage designs.
I love the glamour of all of these. I hope they become much more popular as people make and wear their own.

I truly enjoy all of the videos you put out. Thank you so much for making old new again.
This was fantastic! I love the styles of the early 20th century. You look fabulous in it too!
Thank you for doing this. I'm totally enjoying your channel thoroughly today. You came across my feed last week and it's really been fun to watch. I've learned a lot too. I'm way old lol and esp to the fiber arts, and I've been out of it for 40+yrs. I've never had so much fun with crochet and knitting. I just made a sweater with the ribbing that I'm watching you do on the 1982 (c/o82) leg warmers. I wish I'd seen the pro-tip you gave on the first and last stitch on ribbing. Oh my word. Any way lol, I just wanted to tell you I'm so glad your channel came across my feed. I loved the pill box hat and scarf you did too and you look fabulous in it also!!! Yes we should bring all these great styles back. I totally agree with you. I loved wearing hats when I was young.
Thanks again.

I really appreciate that you have the patterns available for $1.99. You don't try to stiff people for money but charge a small amount for your effort. I am currently making the Pineapple Sunshine ( baby blanket) video pineapple and diamonds.
