Those parts like the FSA cranks, piston stem, mohawk hubs, pac drops and more are chefs kiss iconic!

My local bike shop had the '99 blue one in the showroom and it drove me absolutely crazy. I don't think I had ever wanted a bike so bad.

Again Got this bad boy from Gabe when I first met him my friend was like thats awesome. it was of course cracked in the back end already. But we wanted it to keep. He ended up having his dad weld it nice for him and we got to ride it for a good year or 2 before it snapped again. The lightest thing ever for sure. so fun and small! I wish we still had to keep as wall mount but his mom years before she passed threw it out from cleaning garage. hehe now its a nice memory of her and it all! Good times

I have several Shows. One of the groundbreaking things is that it was the first flatland frame to drop the standing platform on the top tube/seat mast. Flatland tricks weren't using them anymore so GT just shed them, and that really ushered in the era of platform-less flatland bikes. Ironically, street/ramp/park bikes still continued to have standing platforms for a bit after flatland bikes got rid of them.

I miss my black 1991 Performer. I got it for Christmas when I was 13. I really wanted a Pro Fresstyle Tour but my parents were spending that much so I got the Performer. The first thing I swapped was the seat post and the mags.

I had those mid school 3 spoke GT mags on one of the bikes, I don't recall which one, but that pro tour freestyle was in a shop near me too, so sick

@MidSchoolFool I had a Dyno Air with those hideous stellar mag wheels in maybe the very late 90's / 2000's. Those things had to go 😂!
The tomahawk wheels were the best thing smoking when it comes to mag wheel sets.

Love your channel -- brings me back to a much better era of bmx and flatland riding - sort of -- lets be real - I am Gen Xr - honestly bikes started to suck 'ass' after the mid 90s... they were never the same after say -- 96. Across the board all the OG iconic bikes and their quality disappeared -- GT DYNO SKYWAY HARO SE ELF ROBINSON HUTCH REDLINE - at some point I had them all -- ... After the iconic 80s and 90s the bmx and freestyle world went to sh#$. Its truely sad that so many companies have lost their mission lost their way - and only care about making the cheapest bikes possible - making them disposable items at this point... Want proof? Very few bikes are made full CrMo -- these companies pitch these crappy Al bikes - and act as if they are the same -- and they offer up complete bikes with sh#$ parts.
I really hope some of these companies re-discover their ways -- the market WANTS the OG bikes back... hence the vintage market is on fire right now -- and the kids of today need to experience well built bikes that were bombproof -- not these cheap chinese made bikes that are all the same - but have different stickers on them...
With all that said -- I love that you are covering times, magazines, products when things 'everywhere' - in time -- were just better and far simpler -- seeing BMX PLUS up on the screen gives me all the warm and fuzzies -- I had stacks of them for so many years - and admittedly - I wish I had kept a few of my OG bikes -- I could have had a nice downpayment on a MBZ...

The vertigo was dropped in late 88 or 89. I almost regret selling mine. GT needs to release this again, but as a 4130 version. Should solve the cracking issues it became known for.

@@MidSchoolFool The Gt Vertigo and Dyno compe 91 models, both have the same parts and three main tube cr-mo frames.
The only difference is the frame set designs, both bikes ran unchanged specs until the mid 90s.
Very good starter bikes, the Mongoose Villain was a very similar spec bike😎

I remember first seeing a show in a local shop i guess 98 spec because it was the silver/polish frame. it was hanging right by the entrance and i immediately fell in love with it. I also remember seeing my dads face after seeing the price, i felt back then id never own one. To this day I've never even seen one in the wild so probably will never get my hands on one especially at the prices theyre at. I also remember when the encore and finale where floating around but like you said they weren't available in the us so that was kinda of a bummer. I've decided i still want a aluminum flat rig so im piecing together for a Ares Game Changer hoping to get it under 20 lbs hope its enough to scratch that little itch the Show has left on me all these years

@@MidSchoolFool thats awesome, how long have you been riding it, are you lighter weight guy, is the frame still holding strong? what crank length are you running it has one of the shortest rear ends, ive heard you need short crank arms.
