Get over your fear of painting in public

Painting plein air can be intimidating when you're getting into it.
You're a beginner.
You're an introvert.
You don't have all the fancy materials.
You have a fear of judgment.
These are all valid thoughts. But just because a thought feels real doesn't mean it should make decisions for you.
If you want to go paint plein air or sketch some architecture or paint at the park, GO DO IT. Stop telling yourself you can't.

What I always found that gave me anxiety of painting in public was the spectacle. It’s a lot to set up and take up a space in public, and people will notice. The eyes on me the whole time gives that sense of pressure where now I have to really nail this painting. I can’t believe someone would say that to you, I’d love to see their artwork. But really well said I’ll def be thinking about this next time I’m out!

It's hard not to be a spectacle that's for sure! That's hard to avoid. Remember, you can always use the excuse of "oh, it's not even done yet" to soften the expectation. I know I do haha.
To be fair I've only gotten comments like that once or twice while painting in public so the positive interactions definitely overshadow the negative ones.

Hello, good luck on your journey! I always think that im gonna be judged by people. Nowadays I am trying to get over it. It's sunny outside! I take my sketchbook and pencils and go to a place, draw some stuff. Whenever I think in negative way, I am trying to focus on my drawing instead. I just do. I loved your video, your painting and also those natural views that you showed us. I feel lucky to watch this. Thank you
