My grandpa was almost sent to afghan, got sick. A few history here: Soviets have decided to intervene Afghanistan because they were having a civil war, that civil war was caused because of very intense reforms(not learning from previous mistakes!) and USSR intervened, USA decided to supply radical opposition with one main target: make soviet intervention more expensive. USA have accomplished that target but USA have faced consequences and probably facing them still, they faced such consequences because of radical opposition supplying. In media(in afghan war times) there was a newspaper called "anti soviet warrior puts his army on the road to peace" and that anti soviet warrior was..... Osama bin Laden.
