Even Southgate saying they had a days less time was an excuse. He used the same core group of players throughout the tournament even when they weren’t performing well. There were no real tactics, it was simply him hoping someone would produce something out of nothing as he did all the way through. He never knew his strongest team or how to utilise the players effectively. Spain were willing to make changes that helped and improved the team and no one was irreplaceable. Southgate just wasn’t willing to do that. It shouldn’t matter who you are, if you’re not performing or suited to the system you should be dropped. Starting with a clearly unfit Kane summed him up.

It's not courage, it's that the other players in Germany and Spain are better. Their team play better and it's not just that they have more courage. The problem is that many people who only watch the English Premier League think that those players are the best players in the world. No, they are great players but remember that at club level they are playing next to other great players from other countries. This makes a difference but when people see Foden being great at Man City, they think he's going to be just as great with his fellow country men but he doesn't have the same level of players around him. Does that make sense? It's never just as smooth transition. You can't expect Rice (yeah, regardless of what these guys say here) to give players the same freedom that Rodri would, or Fabian would.

Missed a penalty in World Cup that made us loose to France in the last World Cup now all tournament did not turn up. It’s not his total fault that we didn’t win it but he needs to get his stick Becuase if it was Saka , Toney or Rashford with this performance they would have been blasted. Secondly England management is another problem. Rodri in this final was subbed off at half time and I thought Spain coach was mad and was actually happy but look at the results at the end also Morata taken off at 1-0 up that will never happen with Kane if we were one nil up. Even the spare game we had in group stage Kane still started. As an Arsenal fan I will not criticise Foden for this tournament. This is a young lad that just had his third child and is playing with a new born that he is far away from and still played reasonably well in his position but was unlucky in the best chances.

Problem with the team is they rely on moments not their general way they play to make lots of chances. Once they scored they should have attacked more but sat back again then conceded then ran out of time by only having one last chance cleared off line twice.
