Could tell from the first goal the Leafs were going to be horrible defensively all night and they didn't disappoint. All 4 goals were just bruin players being left wide open.
Leafs are really bad for covering men in D zone. Not sure what is wrong with coaching staff but this is minor hockey problems not NHL. How are these D in the NHL and not covering men....lol.

@Borderline1988-pv1wx it's not Keefe it's the players . Besides playing on a stacked Canadian Olympic team Taveres has never done anything major.Neither has Mathews and Nylander . Leafs need to stop over paying these guys and start paying guy that can actually play well without the puck because that is just as important as scoring.
Woll was the only one on the Leafs who played well. If not for him Leafs wouldve lost 10-1. Their defense needs to help their goalie out. Having your goalie as your best defender every night is unsustainable
They pushed through a very tough goaltending situation and now Sammy is back in good form and Woll is back and playing like he never left and they're just abandoning them. Is it complacency? They honestly seemed to play way better in front of Jones, even if Jones himself while good isn't really capable of making the very quick and flexible saves Woll can.
It's amazing how wrong you are. Leafs were pretty much on the offense the whole second period. Boston literally got carried by their goalie and it shows

Leafs just outclassed - B's are what is called a real TEAM, built from the ground up via the draft. Lesson delivered, but not sure Leafs can emulate.

I did not think the Leafs were much worse than Boston tonight. But the Bruins have enjoyed world class goaltending since the mid-2000s. Tim Thomas, Rask, Ullmark, Swayman. It's a revolving door of Vezina winners. It seems Swayman never makes mistakes, there is just total confidence he will make saves. Why can't the Leafs ever have that.
Well you guys have 4 superstars in front, you make choices for your team and you get what you pay for.
Strongly disagree. Woll put in a pretty good effort here even if the stats aren't great. He made several big saves that kept them in with a chance and they sold him down the river. Many times it felt like the Bruins had a powerplay when they didn't, because the Leafs were giving them so much room. Didn't control the play at all. Swayman was great, don't get me wrong, but the Leafs have more than enough offense to win games like these if they control play and keep the pressure on.
Perhaps because the leafs limit their choices of goaltending based on size instead of ability… even if they could have Swayman they wouldn’t because he’s too small to effectively play goalie in their eyes

When I think of the Leafs its a pretty cut and dry case, the term Mental Fragility stands out the most to me, just a team with no balls really, a team that folds under pressure, a team that doesn't have a killer instinct, and a team that is fundamentally flawed in its construction, top heavy especially, they're good enough for regular seasons but playoffs is where they have precisely 0% chance.
Great offence + awful defeats = the Leafs.
And people wonder why it took them forever to win a single playoff series in decades.

There are way too many examples of him being lazy on a backcheck that directly leads to a goal. He could score 75 goals in a season but moments like these remind us that he's not the best in the league.

First decent effort for the Bruins in a LONG time. Still not a fan of the early prevent, "try not to lose" defensive philosophy, but it was slightly better tonight.
The Leafs are too nice. Even their shots on goal look like weekend rec league.
God I hope the Bruins can build on this. This was the first solid effort I've seen from them since the all-star break. Still with the damn penalties at the end of the game though, oh my god stop doing that.

This is what happens when you over pay a few players on a team that is going no where. It is a team sport. Not and individual one. I don't care how many goals and points they get in the regular season. They haven't proven themselves in the playoffs and thus don't deserve these monster contracts until they do.

There was one team playing in the Air Canada Gardnes that will be playing in the second round and that is the maple leafs, this loss doesn’t mean anything they will win when it counts.

Panthers could be the Bruins of last year. Regular season goes out the window once playoffs begin. Just look at the Canes last few years always talked about at least being in the finals and they never make it.

Sadly, this was one of the toughest tests to see what the Leafs were ready for & they fell short. They tried, but couldn't beat a far superior team. Woll shoulda had that 3rd goal, otherwise he played well. Wonder if Treleving can find a couple of solid D-Men with limited resources before the trade deadline this week.

Their first two wins aren't really a brag. They barely won a shootout in the first game. The second was an OT win because nylander fell. Could just as easily went the other way in Torontos favor for both games.

I thought Toronto played well after, surprise, a slow start. If I'm game planning against the Leafs, just come out firing. They never seem to start on time. They're a little easy to game plan against in that regard

during Nylanders contract negotiations the player he was compared to the MOST was Pasta .Thats the problem - Nylander is compared to Pasta ,he is ( now ) being payed like Pasta , but he is NOT pasta .Pasta shows up |EVERY game . In a game 7 series deciding game I will take Pasta and Marchand over Nyander and Marner all day long !!

Bruins 3-4-7 in their last 14 games in regulation but act like a win over Toronto means something. This game was sloppily played compared to the Panthers/Rangers game. Neither of these teams are going anywhere.
The million $ question is now who will be in net for Leaf playoffs - scary decision. Samsonov was basically written off 2 months ago and is back to hero status again. He's leaving after this year 100% so Tree Living better start figuring it out. Jones will be waived and Woll too injury prone. Yikes - and it has to be a cheap option given the lack of cap space.
