The cutscenes in this feel like a history programme.
Must have something to do with the Microsoft money as well as getting everything as well as CG ( in all seriousness though this does feel like a really good documentary and and a show on the History Channel)
Educational in a way
Needs tony robinson and it would be *chef's kiss. If dirt 5 can get donut media, can't aoe 4 get baldrick? And how about a black adder scenario for each season?
@@yaboi5047 Is that a Time Team reference?
I always liked the intro music for that show but always found it dull when i was younger.
I'd probably quite enjoy it now i'm nearly 30.
Exactly this game is just propaganda for history. His-story. The victor could've written anything
The cut scenes are professionally done. This can be easily used for teaching history.
It cannot
Interesting that Scott said about king Harold “Get an arrow between the eyes” and an arrow to the eye was how he died in the real battle
I've just started Assasins creed Valhalla and have come across King Harold. A character he was indeed.....
He'd probably heard it before, it's taught in schools in the UK
@@westsideAUKILANI Harold King of England or Harald King of the Vikings haha
@@paulhudson6846 oh not sure lol. Haven't progressed further into story. I believe he was the first king of Norway Harald? Not sure if its the same one don't think so now lol
That intro video was so well done, I genuinely forgot I was watching a game being played. I wanted to see who won, I got so invested, and then I realized he's now going to have the opportunity to play out that battle. I bought the game
I will admit I'm not a fan of the historical documentaries and much preferred the narration and personal campaigns. They added an immersive touch imho
Damn it I missed this kind of game so much! When I was younger We loved to play the first AOE without internet connection and just only by LAN with friends :D
Oh wow.. it's like I was transported back in time but in full 4K res.. 😄😅🤘🏻 looks sick AoE4.
Yes i had played this game so long ago and i seems to have forgotten about it, previously i had also played Koei's three kingdoms strategy games as well and they had evolved as well similar to AOE game, so many games to play in 2021 and wow the cinematics seems like a history lesson super cool game and thks for making this video and sharing it, really enjoyed it
Really love the documentary-like cutscenes actually. Informative and fun
I'd like the style of Age of Empires 3 and Age of Mythology better. With animations and original characters.
AGE OF EMPIRES II IS THE GREATEST IN THE FRANCHISE THE GOAT❤️❤️
yep, by faaaar
This game is tooo good. Age of empires brings back so many memories
Very impressed with how educational this game is!
I always loved looking deeper into the origins of the units and some buildings in age of empires 2 and 3 games. Learned more history by researching from games than actual books in school lol
The other AoE games were educational, too. The production budget on this one is just waaayy more
The sound effects and ambiance is impressive. Makes me feel like I’m actually watching the battle live.
Age of empires 2 was so good that other games copied the style of that game, starwars galactic battlegrounds being one of those games, it has the exact same style and gameplay as age of empires 2 just with starwars asset's
Man I miss this kind of games.
I lovede Age of Empier when I was a kid
Please do more! It was a great video - looks like a great game too!
I’ve never played an Age of Empire game and this looked awesome
Definitely need more of this 👌
wooo that intro my god they really made a it with real life video i really loved it 😍😍😍
Please do more of this this was absolutely entertaining
WOW, as someone who loves medieval history, its nice to see an age of empires game thats doesn't totally misrepresent history. The fine details aren't accurate, but the general stuff is.
i do hope we get to plaay from the stone age when not playing campaign. going through the age's was always the fun part for me.
Glad you're enjoying the campaign. I doubt I'd get past The Battle of Hastings because I'd keep sending Duke William to fight Harold's army on his own.
Don’t sweat it i would do the same aswell 😅
i love this game, informative and fun gameplay
Ugh I kinda want to watch this but I also don't want to spoil it too much! The first 15 minutes were a lot of fun to watch though, thank you!
I love that the opening campaign is the same campaign as the tutorial from Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings!
Awesome Scott, so excited!!
You Should Carry on with the playthrough Your Run in commentary is Well needed for this type of game.
Keep up the Good work.
Ok so now im watching I love what they are doing with the game my suggestion and only one so far is to see some new units like maybe a flag barrier and some long masons I believe the boats are called :) im beyond happy! Okay so to add to your gameplay if you double click a unit it might still have the mechanic to select all types of that unit so you can better sort them quickly take not they will form a single large mass group as well!
I used to skip class to play some sick battles against unknown dudes from the same high school, man, those were the times.
The graphic of the bird flying is awesome
I used to live in York just live outside now this is great 👍
Really not sure how I feel about the live action footage. It's really cool and reminds me of great shows like Time Commanders (Rome Total War) but I much preferred the classic games way of narrating hand drawn art slides.
This is the best game 😍 they need to do The Settlers next
This would be cool
missed these good old
games so much.
Coming from AoE III, having to set gathering points again feels like a step back. Hopefully it won't bother me too much.
I like what they did with the scenes
The Age of Empires is back! With a fresh new a installment!
OMG!! The graphics are insane!!!
This was hard to watch u attack that york camp 😩 stressing me out 😂🤣
He said he was getting back into it. Can't expect someone to play well when they are rusty
Sheesh I was thinking the same thing lol
Yes fella......I played the age of empires game religiously
Game looks pretty fun, I like the formations and tactics
"where is Harold, cant see him"
LITTERY SAYS KING HAROLD ABOVE HIS HEAD ahahahah
To be honest the game has few disappointments , But the campaign is something interesting , gorgeous , full of historical-stuff and most importantly not boring (Unlike history classes LOL)
WE WANT A PART 2 PLSSSS😄
Nice game plz bring us more parts of this game.
I have always loved all the age of empires games the in depth history I thought the most brutal was Joan of arc betrayed by the king's advisors absolutely savage of them
I m happy to see your videos .... Of AOE 4. Keep playing
i wish guys start to make new versions of red alert etc :)
Still play aoe2 so I'm so excited to play this
Loved AOE when I was a kid
started last night on the next difficulty up and cannot for the life of me destroy the keep as the enemy just reinforces at such speed that i cannot out kill them
loved it!
the abasyd dynasity revealed in last trailer they are prertty awesome
everyone plays this game w/ zero tactics ie charging your archers in first. you also gain more food by placing your farms next to wind mills
When I finally get this and the ones before it, I'm gonna probably be way into it for my own good.
OMG i will definately play it
The first two AOE games, ESPECIALLY the second one, were massive parts of my childhood.
I wasn't able to get the third game until a decade ago and was very disappointed...
The main issue i have with AOE3 is that it tried to mix up the formula way too much.
Let's hope AOE4 doesn't make the same mistakes.
disappointed with what? it's a great game, better than 2. gameplay totally is smooth.
AOE3 is really good but obviously not better than AOE2
@@christrisen6589 It was much more better than AOE2. Aoe2 has just the nostalgia feelings, but it is a cranky game, not smooth, the units move like ass and it's very hard to control them. The age series just start to be better in mythology.
@@victoro6829 sorry man AoE 3 was garbage... As someone that is an extremely good RTS player i feel it was a near worthless game. The unit control was garbage, the strategy elements took a downgrade from AoE 2, etc...
There is a reason why AoE 2 is still heralded as the best AoE. Though I do hope AoE 4 is not worthless...
@@chrismcaulay7805 You fans of AoE 2 live in Alice's wonderland. You are so nostalgically blind to a cranky old game that cannot see how bad it is. AoE 2 is not smooth, it has not a good unit control as well. Ensemble Studios did what they could do with the technology at that time, I give them that. But when Mythology and AoE3 came out, there was no point to keep playing an old, cranky, not smooth, bad graphics, stressful bad plainned gameplay game.
i have not installed in C drive still i am getting this error in batch file :-
add-appxpackage : Deployment failed with HRESULT: 0x80073CFF, To install this application you need either a Windows developer license or a sideloading-enabled system.
I am salivating give me more. I have moved over to Anno trying to satisfy my Rts itch for past 14 years.
Rumours that this will come to Xbox in 2022. Hope so
More of this please
wonderful !
Looks good.
Man.. nostalgic
Microsoft shoud provide history teachers absolutely amazing!
Waiting for part 2
Hello everyone! For some reason the narrator is silent during movies/cinematics is silent in my campaign, only the background music and subtitles are showing up to me. Does anyone know what could be the reason? Thank you!
"Another rebel town, Fulford, stood in defiance to William's rule"
Scott: How dare they
LMAOO 😂😂😂
Yes yes more please
Breeeeee. You could have pincer formation on that shield wall on one side and COMPLETELY massacred their broken formation... instead, you spread your forces out and almost reassembled it... hahaha. Ah well, it was fun to watch and your commentary was spot on. Keep up the hard work! Ahaha, very good thing you had it on easy, indeed!
Geez you were serious when you said you haven’t played in awhile.
It gave me so much anxiety watching you not notice your king and multiple troops had gone swanning off into the woods on their own lol
Don’t continuously click on a enemy for your troops to attack, because it resets them from attacking
I’m not a big fan with the amount of Commentary in the videos, but I like the gameplay!
If only King Harold had said "I've got the high ground"...
pls make this a full series
pls
This game is just awesome
I love this game 😍😍😍😍😍
They need to make a Dane civ! And have a Danish camping like the great heathen army
I study History, i wish all my lessens were taught like this!!
More age of empires !!
graphics just superb
This is cool
Looks good
Haha I like your commentary
THIS IS CRAZYYYYY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It released in 1999 lol 22 years ago 😅 now I feel old
new to the franchise, what mode should i pick? i want to start from nothing and not really interested in the campaign as its not your own
I believe history records William as the victor of this battle. correct me if I am wrong. wrote this before game play
Good
the british isles is such a mixed place. they literally have viking, celtic, anglo-saxon, jute, frankish, latin-sabine blood
Fist one watch' this video 😁
Is thre an option for blood and gore?
The narrator is the same as "Orangutan Jungle School"!
Edit: Not like I... watch... that... Ok, maybe I do, but baby Orangutans are too dang cute
When you learn more about history in Age of Empires than in school
great game horrific play through. luckly you didn't pick moderate or hard haha
now watching cause my pc sooo slow
Continue this game bro
Is there any dialogue between the protagonists within the game?
