  • It's so easy to install a Kill Switch. It's just two wires. I think anyone can do it. They are important so you can easily and effectively shot off your engine. If you need to shut it off instantly, you dont have time to fiddle with the choke or pull the plug boot.
    Here are a couple of kill switches that I like.

    I have been riding around without a kill switch for almost a year now and I finally cared enough to try and fix it . Tried to follow the stock wiring but something is fucked up somewhere and this trick seemed to be the only thing that worked. So thx for the vid. Very well explained

    Hey man, love watching your videos. They're all so detailed and informative. Do you have a link to the video where you reference the pigtail wiring you did?

    I've been doing the cheap on/off switches and of course its on when off. I figure its something to keep people confused if they want to steal a bike. :)

    So if I had 2 stators (single fire Harley) I would have to ground both?

    I can't seem to get this to work, my coil is 6v points, does that have anything to do with it? I pigtailed my blackwire from coil and the other wire to ground. My headlight is a puch maxi headlight with a killswitch already, i just need to install an on/off switch with a key for theft deterrent.

    • @Corn-ped
      @Corn-ped  Před 2 lety +1

      voltage doesnt matter. Just use the kill switch to ground out the external coil. That will kill the motor. If its not, you either have the wrong wires or the switch is broken. Do you have a multimeter you can check it with?

    • @TeChNoSiX
      @TeChNoSiX Před 2 lety +2

      @@Corn-ped Holy fk you answered! I got the puch maxi headlight with with 4 wires going to it, yellow, black, grey and brown for ground. Ill have to test the switch with a multimeter because it seems as if it works on and off. Is it a correct assumption to say that its impossible to "killswitch" on a engine with pullstart? Or should it still be possible to ground the entire engine with a pullstarter?
      thanks for being an encyclopedia of all the things i care about

    • @Corn-ped

      @@TeChNoSiX you totally can kill it. Just ground out the ignition coil. The blue wire that goes to the coil. Ground thay

      @@Corn-ped Thanks for answering so fast! In my case thats the black. But my earlier question was more of a "can an engine with pullstart have a killswitch with an on/off position so that it cannot start in off position no matter how much you pull"

      @Corn-ped  Před 2 lety +2
