I came upon this video searching for demonstrations on the physical/structural qualities of doped fabric, and the samples shown at 6:00 were definitely a revelation for me. I knew doping made fabric stiffer, but I didn't know just _how_ stiff; I was expecting something like rubberized cloth, but the pieces shown almost put me in the mind of cardstock or construction paper. Fascinating!

I've noticed that if you lightly tap a doped surface it sounds like a drum and that surface is hard.
Is nitrocellulose lacquer the same thing as nitrocellulose dope?
Wont plasticizer added to the dope stop the shrinking of the dope?
