New Album: ** THIS JUST IN ** Buy on iTunes: ow.ly/jIP3y OR AT: www.giladhekselman.com/html/showcase.php Gilad Hekselman - Guitar Dave Robaire - Bass Ferenc Nemeth - Drums
Gilad is wonderful, very tasty soulful styling and maturity beyond his years, I love how he compliments his playing in the higher register with lines and chordal fragments in the lower register. cliff in tokyo
make it your business to see this guy live, what he's after is what everyone who says they play jazz should be after..this cats playing is DEEP...and he plays with the best guys in town (ari hoenig, joe martin, jeff ballard, the cohens etc.)
Its a Vintage Gibson Howard Roberts Signature guitar, Epiphone(then owend by Gibson) also made it at some point. Gibson still produce it but its a different design now.
Holy Shit I own that same guitar. I payed $800.00 for it in 1980. I freind of mine got one used same time for $350.00. They sell on ebay for about $1500.00. Proof you don't need a high end guitar to get a great sound. It is the player and the amp.
Wow.. he obviously has a great harmonic understanding. I feel ashamed to have my guitar videos on the same youtube that he does......ouch... its too good..
didn't really dig the completely abstract bass solo- And i get that its extremely difficult to pull that off. But man, that guitarist is goin' places, ya know?
Just beautiful. Nostalgic. Melacholic. Romantic. Has it all and more. . .I just can't put all the words to it right now.
Seeing Gilad live by chance in NYC was like a turning point in my life. If anybody doesnt have splitlife yet, go buy it! You will love it.

So now we know how to bring jazz to the mainstream..
I guess I should start working out more now.

You play beautifully !! & you're very handsome too
Damnit he took all of the classy talent and masculine of the world
I consider two things listening to jazz players: would I A)buy their CD? and B) pay to see them live? in Gilad's case, YESSSSS!!!!
get more videos of him, hes one of my favorite guitarists along with metheny, montgomery, scofield, and rosenwinkel
Gilad is great! 5:06-5:09 = Beauty and the Beast!!! --> Fantastic Soloending!
@HendrixcommaMartin - It's an old Gibson Howard Roberts guitar

Pride to the Israelites! This guy's slamming. I'd love to hear him with a hipper rythm section though...
Nice. Recalls the MJQ approach.

Fantastic.I'm gonna go practice some more....
Man, this guy must get sooo much action. handsome AND talented. if he's also a 1337 hacker, i give up ever getting laid.

Steph Curry on the bass.
@aaronlebos what did he show you in the lesson?
Wow.. he obviously has a great harmonic understanding. I feel ashamed to have my guitar videos on the same youtube that he does......ouch... its too good..
@2AMbandRI what did he show you in the lesson?
...sutil...
if you play along with the bass, he actually played the changes. He wasn't that outside really.
He looks like a young Christoph Waltz
Don't knock the rhythmn section. The drummer is super-hot too! Check out Ferenc Nemeth.
didn't know Ryan Reynolds was this good!
didn't really dig the completely abstract bass solo- And i get that its extremely difficult to pull that off. But man, that guitarist is goin' places, ya know?
