  • Baja California is considered an Overlanding mecca, and for good reason. Wide open deserts, thousands of accessible, remote beaches, and endless wild camping and 4x4 routes. I spent 1 full month driving through Baja, from the Sea of Cortez to the Pacific side and back, from the Northern border to the Southern tip.

    However, I think the change in topography surprised me the most. A seemingly endless rocky desert that meets the ocean, turns to green mountains, flat plains, and dunes that run into the sea.
    It's been 8 months since the start of this trip. And as we plan to send the truck over to Colombia to start the next chapter, the South American journey, I find myself missing Baja and the freedom it offered more and more.

    Nice work on the drone videe! So cool seeing someone pass through so many of the remote spots we have ventured through the past few years. And we happen to be camping on Cabo San Quintin tonight for the first time.

    Certainly no worries about crowds where you camp.

    Pretty rad! Did you get an attempted shakedown from the policia only once?

      Yeah only the one time in Acapulco, even in Honduras they were nice and didn't have any issues. Central America has been cleaned up pretty good recently in terms of corruption. Mexico.... Eh, still lacking a bit I'd say haha

    I'm enjoying your vidoes and love your rig! By the way, if you're planning on heading further down to Costa Rica are you aware of the right hand drive ban? Apparently as of 2012 they dont allow any RHD vehicles into CR.

      Haha yeah well actually this footage is a bit older and I've been remaking this series to catch it up to where we're at now, kind of fell into a hole with making videos for a little bit.
      But with that said we thought we might get into Nicaragua at least (and El Salvador) but when we got to the Nicaraguan border they said "Nope, no RHD's, turn around". Same for El Salvador. So we're now back in Mexico planning on sending the truck to Colombia next month direct !

      @@goaloneTV ahh, so sorry to hear that, what a bummer not to be able to see those amazing countries in such an amazing truck. I'm looking at doing the same trip and was shopping around for a 70 Series diesel from Japan until I found out about the no RHD rule!

    • @goaloneTV
      @goaloneTV  Před rokem +1

      @@DaveAsher Yeah it's a huge trade off, the import cruisers from Japan are a great price and in great condition but RHD makes it such a pain in these areas. Honestly, I didn't know until I got to Guatemala but they have a massive selection of use diesel Land Cruisers and at great prices. That's how I would do it

      @@goaloneTV yup, I have a good mate in CR so may have to buy one down there and ship it here to kit before heading back again. Keep making these awesome vids bro, they are both enjoyable and helpful. Can't wait for the next update.
