Love watching how your gear list evolves over time. Keep up the great work!
The smooth jazz makes this video perfect 👌 😀👍
We wish you well and look forward to viewing your adventure.
So glad that Hilltop Packs is getting a lot of mainstream love this year -- their gear is awesome, and the fact that we can get whatever we want on the bags and packs is the icing on top! I'm looking forward to your trail videos -- hope you have/had an epic adventure!
Thank you Darwin. I really like your passion for hiking and gear
What uuuuuuup Darwin! Doing my first thru hike of the Standing Stone Trail next month, these shakedowns help so much for planning!
“No one owns me” Love it🤘Load out is legit
Definitely, I felt the same way. ✌️
This is a huge reason I keep watching Darwin. You don’t feel like he’s selling you stuff the whole video
Thats rare on CZcams these days
Pro tip : you can watch series on flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching lots of of movies recently.
@Davis Dorian Yup, have been watching on flixzone} for since november myself :)
So good I have to watch this one at least one more time to make my notes for 2020 for winter. 👍
Good job, Darwin. Have a great trip!
I just completed the CT and sitting in a hotel room in Durango. You will love the CT. It is better than the JMT. Insanely beautiful and heavenly. Take extra batteries as you will film a lot. Frisco, Twin Lakes were awesome. Monarch mountain lodge was also great. Don't forget to visit bakery in Lake City. Avoid Molas Lake campground and instead go to Silverton. The first 40 miles and the last 40 miles are very dry and hot. Carry lots of water. Also a good hat is a must. I carried the zpacks pointy hat. A cap may not work that well. The trail in most of the places is above tree line and sometimes temperatures can reach 100 while hiking for 16 to 18 miles out in the open. August should be drier in terms of rain. Didn't get that much rain in August. Did get some in July. Not much of mosquitoes. Daylight is from 5:30 till 8:30. I found mornings to be hot and evenings to be milder.
You will love it. It is the most beautiful hike I have ever done. Heaven on earth. Enjoy.
Thanks for adding the metric weights too. Less googling for me^^ Really appreciate it
Take a break, it helps the soul. Make the adventure yours, then share it in your own way. I love the outlook on life. Safe travels.
We sell land close to camping areas. And we’re always on the lookout for channels like yours where we can send our customers to get awesome ideas for their next adventure.
Was so hoping to meet you in person on the CT when I hiked it with my daughter this summer. She ruptured a disk on day three and we left the trail, plus you started much later than we would have been on the trail. I'm looking forward to hiking the trail vicariously through you this year and for real next year. Happy trails and thanks for sharing.
Excellent usage of the term “switch-o-roo “. 👍. Always look forward to your content. Keep the great videos coming!
Happy Trails!!!!!
Thanks!
Damn dude, nice editing. Love the moving camera work and the soft music.
Thanks!
Really enjoy your videos. Gives me good ideas on what I need to bring on my hikes! Keep it up
Good luck with your hike. Also thanks for another awesome gear list
Hi Darwin, Nice vid. Have fun on the trail.
Solid load out. Looking forward to the trail videos.
Good list. I tend to chase my StS pillow. Decided to Velcro it to my pad. Stays in place all night.
Be safe and enjoy your brake
I always love a Darwin gear list. Awesome selection of gear. Well done. Good luck on your Colorado hike. Crow✌️
Great Darwin.... LOVed it
Good luck man. 🙂 Have a nice trip
Colorado is on fire right now 🔥
All of it? 🤔😂
Thru hiking this one next year. Let's goooo!
I use the Uberlite and the UGQ 20 quilt and LOVE THEM!!!! :) have a great time.
Good luck out there on trail. Enjoy
Wow enjoyed this. Thx and be safe out there!
Best of luck Darwin! Just be careful with the wildfires here. Happy trails.
Appreciating the altaplex so much and Im only almost 5'6". Love the space! For vitual same weight as plexamid.
Awesome vid, Darwin! I was pleasantly surprised by your Anker power bank as I use another one of their products. The Anker Soundcore Bluetooth speaker which I use DAILY in my work truck because the radio doesn’t work! The things I want from your list are: the Alpha Spoons, the bug net, the wind pants, and your ultralite trowel!
love it. if I get a chance to listen to some music when on my hiking trips I always choose music like Delta Parole or Guns N Roses, the rawness is the best with nature.
I love my cnoc piles. And use my bidet even when I’m home. Cuz I just feel cleaner and use a lot less TP. Still need some TP but much less. Look forward to seeing your hike. Have a great hike
Wow! A travel bidet. Gotta get one of those. 🥶
I love the Roam wallets
“NO ONE OWNS ME” love it!!! NO Sponsors!! Right on!!
My wife screams like the little girl from the exorcist when she hears your intro song now. It's a result of sustained and gradual exposure over time but she is finally cracking.
Great video bud! Keep up the good work!
Have you opted to be verified?
Hope you're all good with those wildfires that kicked up yesterday. Be safe and enjoy the beautiful views. Take Care and Be Aware.
Woah. I had a dream my Collegiate Loop hike but with fires, the other night.
Darwin you're awesome!
Wonderful tips. Thank you. Kind regards Hannes & Janin
Love gear videos.
Great activity.😊
No one owns me haha this guy is a true free spirit !
Love ya darwinissimo
Cool, man. I bought a pair of Altas today on your recommendation. They are super comfortable. In fact, I have worn them for hours and have them on now. They are cut like SAS - San Antonio Shoes - another company that cares about the toe box. All REI had was a pair of black ones, which are not visually appealing, but on the trail they will be so great. I will be three weeks in the Rockies from S. Texas in September, and am taking a brand new Hyke & Byke 0 degree bag. Its probably overkill for the temps, cuz I also run a Klymit Static 5, which is insulated and awesome. I used it in the San Juans in April and have never slept so soundly in a tent. And a pillow. Arrives tomorrow :) Thanks for the great tip on the shoes, and have a safe, peaceful hike on the CT.
I almost feel like someone tried to stick you with “being owned”.. haha! Great load out, and the Rawlogy cork ball is a must for me! Cheers MillimeterMech -Southwest Michigan.
Darwin, I saw you the other day in Leadville sitting out front across from Melanzana and wanted to come say hey, but you looked busy talking and I didn’t want to be a rude weirdo. Lol. Anyway, Rock on.
Another person with a bidet! Wooo!
thanks for uploading in 4k!!!!
No problem!
Enjoy your hike! Nice gear list...
Hope to see you on a random trail one day🤙
Darwin, have you experienced not using stuff sacks for the things that really don't need them, like sleeping bag, clothing, etc. You end up with more available room in your pack. Stuff sacks create unused empthy space around the outside of them. Just stuff your sleeping bag in the bottom of pack (you already have nylofume protection and pack), followed by clothing, with things that hold numerous items in bacs above. See how much more available value you will have. Yes, I always use a light/thing pack liner.
Ray Jardin taught me this back in the 70's, and I have been using it ever since. Happy Trails.
I just got an Enlightened Equipment Apex Torrid based on your recommendation and man oh man am I happy. It is super warm and most of all I love the cut, which accommodates my definitely non-Arcteryx-proportioned body (i.e., bigger hips, and more than an ounce of body fat). I had tried the Ghost Whisperer but it was way too big for me if I sized up, and again too narrow around my hips if I went with my usual size. And the Torrid weighs an ounce less than the Ghost Whisperer but feels warmer - probably due to the lack of stitching.
Crazy light if that includes your camera set up! I felt like my Canon RP and my Garmin GPSMap66i were the the weight killers on my last trip! Good job!
👍🏽 Nice Darwin!!!
your camera work is excellent.
gear list hype!
good gear list hype!
I think mail drop resupply is the safest and most considerate way to go. Also helps out the USPS!
Have a great hike .....always inspiring vids .... get outdoors people an lay down some Miles .....Trek on safe brothers an sisters
groovy background music!
Legit man. love it. Enjoy my home
Dig the jazz background.
Love your vids! Thanks for taking the time. Have you considered the Hoka Stinson or Speedgoat or Altra Olympus over the Timp and Lone Peak? I prefer the ones I mentioned...much better on my body and feet.
Have a great time
Good luck finding the easton nano stakes.
If you need anything in Colorado, hit me up. I'll drive wherever from Denver to lend a hand to you, Darwin.
I would’ve waited by his car with a Polaroid camera and pen ready for an autograph, lol.
Man you got all the bells and whistles . dang all u need is a air conditioned hotel room and youll be all set...😉😉😉 Seriously cool stuff man 👍
I strongly recommend long socks for the CT because of lightweight decomp tree material
Would love to see a Zenbivy review. Hope EE is paying attention to what they are doing.
Looking forward to this one!! I've been doing volunteer trail crew work with the CTF almost every summer since 2006 and will be interested to hear your impressions and see the views I'm missing this summer due to you know what. BTW, a big shout out to the CTF and all the volunteers would be much appreciated.
What size bag did you use with your Enlightened EQ quilt? Mine is HUGE and I need to get it under control.
Y'all loaded the video and typed a comment faster than I could say "oh a new Darwin vid".
Darwin amount of miles you've traveled is no easy feat! Great job! In Afghanistan we sometimes traveled 20-30miles in a day with 80-90lb packs and an additional 30lbs of armor and ammo. Whats the heaviest you've tried? Awesome content bud. Can't wait to see more.
I hope your resupply boxes make it to your destination in time...USPS is being slowed down a lot due to factors I shall avoid being specific about due to politics.
Stay safe and happy trails!
If your package goes to denever first it's delayed big time. Wyoming and Montana on CDT no problems.
That Bidet would be perfect for my buddy. He's always under-packed, and begs water (food, 1st aide, trekking poles, etc. ) all the time. I could give him a drink from the Bidet, THEN explain what it is. Lol.
Time to get a new buddy LOL
@@antsy_does Lol. He also pees ON the traIl. I told him I wouldn't hike with him anymore, and he couldn't understand why. We are no longer friends.
Great video, short and sweet, thanks! Any specific reason you turned your back on your appgearco alpaca hoodie?
with the BeFree water filter, do you plan to use the extra 1L water bottle as a dirty bottle? Also, i am curious of how the bide works out when managing water sources and refills.
Thanks for the great video. I'm glad that you left links to everything that you use. One question, have you done a video on the phone apps that you use for navigation or anything else that you find helpful?

See you here in Durango!
Nice pack out Darwin! I basically have the same set up but with cheaper gear and no camera setup. I’m doing the CT next year northbound from Durango to Nederland via CDT sections, then riding public transit home to Boulder. I’m a native of Denver and I know southbound is the recommended route but, I want to walk home ya digg? Good luck brother and thank you for all of your videos, you have inspired me a lot in UL! Much love from CO!
Any first aid med kit???? Or did I miss it?
Do you use the dry sack for the compression abilities since you have a bag liner?
Nice gear list! Always look forward to these. I'm a fairly new backpacker and am very interested in the waymark and zpacks backpacks. Would you do a comparison video?
Thanks!
Thank you Darwin, pretty soon, my pack weight will be lighter than yours. I am blessed with three kids willing to take all my stuff. I used to carry an 80lb pack for two days. My wife's fault for having my kids, I took or carried everything for them. J/K Stay safe and enjoy !
Hi Darwin! I'm definitely going to look up this camera clip! I need something for my a6000 - I don't enjoy the cross body messenger stye around my neck!
Amazing that all fits in a 35L pack.
It takes some work 😉
😁👍👍 appreciate you!
Great video ☺️ 👍 2oder how you get the smoth pans in the videos do you use the tripod on the pole ore is it handheld anyway great job.
Would love a review on the travel bidet and how it effects your water usage post hike. Making the switch to a bidet at home, but on the trail seems tough.
I second this!
I number two this as well!
I heard pilling was a major issue with some of the Arcteryx long sleeve shirts. Have you had any issues like that with the Skyline? Thanks!
Your new UGQ Bandit XL quilt looks great! What type of footbox did you choose, drawcord or sewn?
Hoping you’re planning to tell us about the bidet? Please please!
Hey Darwin why are you hiking the CT southbound and were are your resupply stops??
How do these stakes work with the Zpacks lines? I use sherpherd's hook stakes to anchor the loop, but I'm not sure how that would work with these "nail head" type stakes....
How long do you need to charge all your electronics? Thanks for your videos. Always looking out for them
Hi Darwin, are you still able to get TIMP 1.5 shoes somewhere? Where? I am in the 2.0 Times but loved the 1.5’s.
Hey Darwin, what's the rubber cover over your lens? looks like it would be useful as protection when i have my camera on the backpack strap. Thank you.
Great video bro.just a question
In good condition how many miles you walk in hour?
This is just of the top of my head, but based on watching several of his videos in the past, I think a good day is between 35 and 40 miles. I think a great day is 40+. Seems amazing to me!
