Hear West Australian self-reflective songs with a synth-pop/guitar-psych balance from the Perth-based band Pond. They play songs from their most recent, 'The Weather,' in-studio.
god how I adore this band. saw them first in 2009 when there was 8 people on stage. 8 albums later.... they just get better and better. fucking LOVE Pond
Love Pond. Wish they were not going down the synth route as heavily. But I think., or hope they have another classic in the bag waiting. One of the best bands,. If not overlooked bands of the decade. Australia really has kept music alive for people who like bands in a decade which has not been friendly to people playing instruments.
best interview I've ever seen anyone get out of these soft spoken lads
This version of Zen Automaton is pure gold.
so grateful to grow with the music of these geniuses

14:50 Zen Automaton

Relatively new Pond fan...... There is a lot of Bowie in their music....
Nick Allbrook is the Bowie of our generation
Tons
the "rundgren" credit on that one song, made me a HUGE pond fan
Best live show I’ve ever seen and it’s not even close.
Aaron Smith dude im honestly thinking this. Think they even played better than tame.
Zen Automotherfuckingmaton. Best flute playing I've seen from Nick in awhile. Made me pecker warm and fuzzy.
this interviewer was so pleasant to listen to, thanks for that :)
I'm really loving " Pond" Nik has unique voice , loving the new sound sings

Never seen Jay play a Jazz Bass usually it's his Gibson SB-300 or a Fender Mustang
Never seen him play a Mustang. Jamie/Julien used to play a Musicmaster. watch the old KEXP's
wena gum
le puso gumby
Aguante el compare gum
Sigo pensando que ese man es un talento en cada instrumento que le designen, y lo ah demostrado en todas las alineaciones de Pond y tame impala
3:44 what the hell does Nick say there? all I can make out is "I'm here always blocking out the sand/sun in the home, home of the brave" at the end.
Theres fighting in Cronulla and the spirit of( Nero?) is blocking out the sun and the home, home of the brave.
What kind of KEXP is this?
Was that really worth commenting?
Thanks babies
