But his time is officially recorded as 2:03:04. Something is not right here. That is a 5 seconds delay, and for a runner that is big.
Bekele is cursed he has missed the world record by 5 seconds in this race and then in 2019 Berlin Marathon he missed kipchoges mark by 2 devasting seconds and went 2:01.41
The race could have gone either way. Kipsang was like less than 10 seconds behind. Yes Bekele missed the world record by what 5 second or so but had not Kipsang pushed him he wouldn't have even gotten that close.
