    Why does everyone keep saying that they should forget the past and move on? Thats not fair, you not saying that black people should forget slavery, jewish people WWII or even for Americans to forget 9/11. Everyone has the right to remember they're history. It doesn't matter how long ago it happend!
    And I saw a comment about how they should be happy the Europians came and made they're country better and if they couldn't protect they're land they shouldn't own it. Thats not right to say if people came to attack you with guns and you only use a spear and a bow how are you supposed to protect anything? And i'm not saying Christopher Columbus killed all the Native Americans but he wasn't being nice eighter.
    And yes maybe the native Americans attacked the Europians first but if some random person came into your house you would try to protect your home and family too.

Google this: Dawes Severalty act. This act dissolved tribes as legal entities, and legal ownership over their land was granted if they behaved like “good Americans”. Google this : the trail of tears. An event where America literally stole their land and killed native Americans. The only good law passed was the Indian reorganization act of 1934. Honestly people think they know history, they aren’t even taught the nitty gritty, and led to believe horrendous events weren’t as severe as they were. At 1:46 when the old Indian guy said "They are going to have to face judgement." Exactly who is he talking about? I've studied Native American Indian culture for over 15 years now.
    My wife is Chippewa tribe and she enlightened me to things that I learned in history that was utter BS! For example when European settlers came to America Indiana occupied 3% of the land and didn't even know oceans existed.
    Also European settlers were welcomed to this country and lived under Indian law which provided you could occupy land for living, fishing, and hunting which they did.
    It wasn't until the younger hostile Indians of certain tribes went into the European settlements at night and murdered men women and children that problems started to arise. The Chiefs of the tribes and the leader of said European settlement would meet and call a truths.
    Again and again these Indian attacks continued until there were enough European settlers to stand their ground and fight back. Also European settlers brought inventions that Indians had never seen and both the Indians and Europeans shared these with one another.
    Yes European settlers did bring small pox that killed many Indians, but Indians also had diseases Europeans had never been exposed to killing them.
    There are so many lies that have been told about Christopher Columbus and the settlers that came with him. People should do their research throughly before making vulgar gestures.
    Every race has committed atrocities in the past and nobody's hands are clean. So please do research and get a better understanding of what your speaking on.

    Okay! First off I'm going to take the definition of the word discovery. This is from The Oxford dictionary."find (something or someone) unexpectedly or in the course of a search." This is important because people need to understand that discovery does not mean to be the first to find something. I say this because if that wasn't the case, then the native americans didn't discover anything either because the bears and birds were here before them.

    People in the US don't know nothing about history. Columbus arrived at "La Española," which is the island where the Dominican Republic and Haiti are located. However, Giovanni Caboto, not Columbus, is credited with "discovering" continental North America. The real issue lies with certain figures revered as National Heroes, who were responsible for the ki11ing of a significant number of Native Americans in the land we now know as the United States. Let me clarify that this comment is not meant to defend Christopher Columbus, instead, it aims to shed light on the injustices against Native Americans in the United States, which were perpetrated by other figures from the very same nation. Take, for instance, Andrew Jackson, whose face adorns one of their currency notes despite his involvement in leading genocides against Native American tribes. Not only him, but there are several others as well who bear the responsibility for the atrocities committed against indigenous people. It is disheartening to witness the lack of acknowledgment or remorse for their own history within the United States. This ignorance fosters the misguided belief among U.S Citizens that it was Columbus who was responsible for the killings of their ancestors and that this misinformation is even shared with Native Americans themselves. The reality is that colonization unfolded in different and atrocious ways across the entire American continent, depending on the European power that claimed sovereignty over the territories they colonized. The suffering of Native Americans was not solely confined to the acts of Columbus; it extended well beyond that and throughout history and the entire continent. It's crucial for all U.S Citizens to face the truth about their past, no matter how unpleasant it may be. Thank you Cut for exposing the ignorance and misinformation prevalent in the US and the lack of empathy towards the indigenous people in your country.

      @The Golden Eagle In the 1400s? That was impossible. There's no WAY, check the conditions in India and Europe in the 1400s and compare. The reason why Columbus wanted to go to India is because he wanted to trade with a prosperous nation which is all he could've done

      @Calvin1985 Před 5 lety +14

      @@moveimindigenous1721 Have you ever seen the "pranks gone wrong" videos on youtube? Basically it's where these idiots film themselves harassing people (usually young black men in impoverished neighborhoods): pulling up people's sagging pants, ridiculing their clothes, picking at their pockets pretending to rob them, etc. Then when the victims of these so-called "pranks" justifiably start throwing punches, the "pranksters" yell "It'S jUsT a PrAnK bRo!" as they rightfully get their asses beat. These "pranks" have escalated to making a play on words- saying "Do you want these hands?" Which means "do you wanna fight," or saying "do you wanna buy a gun?" then pulling out a plastic water gun. Sooner or later these will escalate to something like "crashing a plane into a building prank" or "shooting up a school prank." So that's my joke in a nutshell- Columbus would probably make a video called "Native American genocide prank" if he was alive in 2015.

      The Europeans who came to this land flush the people out to move up north.
      Now the people today call themselves "Americans" it is the name they came up with but to name the land you stole? Their no justifying that on their action.
      Millions have suffer a great big genocide because of the colonist ships moving in and more "Europeans" want to start a new life in the new world.
