I knew about FFIX remake since October 2019 before Covid hit from the analyst that I work with. I also know it's coming to the Switch NEXT.
FF 9’s world is going to be beautiful
The memoria project is stunning as well
I just know they are going in a whole new direction
After the bad financial report and SE stock is down, they might consider revealing IX remake now 👏🏻👏🏻

Final fantasy 9 is one of the few games with a happy ending. I love this game
lol, I feel so bad for FFFVIII. It's truly the red-headed stepchild of the PS1 FF games. It was the last one to get remastered and will be the last to get a remake if they ever decided to remake it.

I wonder if it tried not being boring as f***... I'm playing it right now and still - after 24 years since my last attempt - hate it so much.
I’m a fan since playing FF8 in 1999 as a kid. So obviously I have a soft spot for it. Even though it is flawed. And we like to look at it through rose tinted glasses nowadays… My all time favorite however is FFX. It was just mind blowing for it’s time. Story, setting, characters, gameplay I love everything about it. That said I feel FF8 would benefit the most from getting a remake. The combat system (junction, draw mecanic) was just not good. A remake could implement a modernised system like FF7R did. Also FF8’s graphics have probably aged the worst out of all the FF games (excluding ff7 wich got remade) because they tried going for that realistic look on PSone. And it just doesn’t hold up. At least we can appreciate pixel art these days. I think both 8 and 9 remakes are top priority. FFX holds up really well to this day. Well enough to just play the original versionW FF9 remake is fine being a “smaller” project. With stylised graphics kinda like how a platformer would look. FF8 on the other hand, you’re probably looking at another trilogy. And with the sales for Rebirth not “meeting Squares expectations”, I’m sceptical for 8. As for 9, I’m very excited. Personally I’d like a Dirge of Cereberus remake. With updated graphics and gameplay. But if it’s only FF9 I’ll be happy just the same.
The storyline for 8 is so untouched and not perfect. But with a remake they can change it like they did for 7. Edea’s transformation on her crown was the first cinematography that was truly stunning in the series. So much potential
I would have rather see FF8 get a remake first but FF9 is my second favourite FF so now i cant wait

Yeah, I believe a FF8 remake with a strong adjustment and adding sense to the plot is what that game needs. Truth being told, FF9 remake would look lovely but the OG game has aged well and the graphics weren't that bad. It's not like OG FF7 was. And the same goes for FF10, I do feel like FF9 aged better due to the Fairy Tale style fitting with it's design and the plot moving forward pretty well paced, FF10 style might be a better fit for a Remake. And FF8 HAS to be remade, in almost every sense. In particular with everything going on after disk 1. Haha.

Stellar Blade developer confirmed a PC port is gonna be huge for modders. Because it’s a second party game, it’ll never be ported to other platforms like with death stranding.
That old news dude the developers stated that it’ll be coming to PC way before it released on ps5. Look it up you’ll see

Honestly, after playing Rebirth, I don’t know if they should be doing anymore remakes. Rebirth had me just skipping all the side stuff. It was a lot of the same thing.
Hopefully, they can recreate the FFIX in a better way. Quality over quantity of side content. I don’t need to spend over 60 hours in one game. If I do, it should be story content not chasing down side missions and mini games.
All in all, I would be more excited for new projects. Remakes need to chill. HD2D remakes are great though. Keep making them.

@@vocalcalibration8033 if Sony funds them again, they will be. If they are made without Sony’s funding however, they will 100% be everywhere.
I think they said sales were low on exclusives so they won't be doing that anymore.
@@NolanB91 Well it depends on what kind of contract they had with Sony and which projects fall under it. While they won't be renewing any contracts like what they had, or at least it seems that way, it remains to be seen if FFIX remake was included. Hopefully not, but we'll see.
@@NolanB91 misinterpreted statement, they said they will pursue a Multiplatform approach, which they already are,they are third party after all with 68% of their games already on all platforms. They will put more games Including their major franchises, yes, but they never said they won’t do more exclusives, specially if Sony or Nintendo funds the games. In fact those Exclusive games were the only ones that gave them actual revenue and profit, selling more than any of their other multiplatform games. Their main losses came from their failed live service initiatives. SE just always have super high expectations for the sales of their games. They consider them under expectations even when they do better than most other third party games.

Im just sitting here waiting for xenogears to be released on everything doesnt need to be a remake just a port or remaster would be fine put a 30 dollar price tag on it and call it a day.
I'd rather have a 1:1 remake with potential additions, than a padded out remake with a ton of fluff. So it would be great imo to have a smaller scale remake.

FFX/X-2 HD is available for PS5 isn't it? I'm pretty sure it is. If that's the case... then you COULD make the argument that there's NO NEED for a FFX Remake (I'm not making that argument... I'm just saying). But I'm hoping FF9 Remake will be revealed... eventually. Also... I hate to be that guy... but Midori has only proven reliable for Atlus/Sega stuff. Everything else... I feel like is still a 'wait and see' situation but that's just me obviously.
It'll be VERY interesting to see what is revealed and/or release first. KH4? Or FF9 Remake? Time will tell obviously but events are coming up... so we'll see. Just... don't expect either to be there. Unfortunately. ;-;
FF8 & 9 needs a remakes, but FF10 is a remaster and a third installment 😁.

I rather see a Final Fantasy 8 Remake than anything. As a fan of the franchise, I have seen and known about Squall for quite some time (since Dissidia NY back in 2018), but the game and its remastered is just so outdated. And, as much as I want the 7 Remake treatment, I am happy with a Crisis Core Reunion remake (modernizing some of the graphics and mechanics)

If its Square Enix remaking IX, then it will be trash. Look at what they did with VII. Audiovisual experience was amazing but they have no clue of what makes a Final Fantasy game.
