She said in an interview that she was sitting in a bed and she just clicked at the "Runaway" video on CZcams and she heard the intro of this song and she thought: "That is what I want to do". I think that is amazing that one song let her understand that music is what she wants to do in her life. đ

Aurora wrote the song when she was 11 years old, I do not think she had any idea that Runaway would have enormous significance given how the world came to be, think of all the homeless, refugees, alcoholics, drug addicts. All these people want to find a safe place to fall! The song is timeless and only a genius is able to make such songs

She wrote the melody to the song when she was 9 and most of the lyrics by 11. She calls this song a gift to herself as she did not understand what it meant at the time but learned itâs true meaning to her as she got older and gained more life experience.

Enjoyed your reaction! Really interesting discussion about the concept of home and life's journey! This song by AURORA is an early one, but the lyrics are deep, and deep lyrics are a hallmark of AURORA's songs overall. Her voice is mesmerizing, and from my standpoint she just pulls you in every time -- quite a storyteller! I recommend reactions to her live performances of songs like "Through the Eyes of a Child" (Nidarosdomen concert), "All is Soft Inside" (2018 KEXP concert), and "The Seed" (2019 HAIK concert in a forest). The music video for "The Seed" is also quite something!
Second that - I truly enjoyed their reflections upon this song. May they do more.

This video was shot in Auroras backyard. This fjord behind her is "Lysefjorden" (Fjord of Light" near Bergen Norway...and can be seen from her window, as far I know. :)

You mentioned âgoing back in timeâ. Iâve only wanted to go back (Knowing what I know now) and have a âdo overâ. My parents werenât the most present or involved but they were the ones I was given. My life would be extremely different.
I know that time is past though reminiscing occasionally doesnât hurt. It makes me thankful for the things that Iâve done and accomplishments Iâve garnered.

Live versions of âThrough the Eyes of a Childâ at NIDAROSDOMENâŠ..and the VEVO version are INCREDIBLE!
And her performance of her three songs at the NOBEL PEACE PRIZE CONCERT are the best performances of any artists It was my introduction to her.

Aurora started playing music and writing songs (in Norwegian) when she was 6, and then in English when she was 9. She is a singer, songwriter, composer and producer. Her live performances are extraordinary. She is what you call a true emphat, very close to nature and down to earth, highly talented and highly intelligent, always positive and funny. She really does talk to her fans, whom she calls warriors and wierdos. She is an absolute free spirit.
In the video (background is her homeland), she was 17-18 years old. Now she is 25. There is almost no song of her that I do not love.
Aurora's movements are partly not rehearsed in their concerts. She is introverted and she shows her feelings through involuntary body movements. You can say that she doesn't dance to the music. Her music dances with her.
See hates backtracks, that's why she has a backround singer. Everything about her and her music is real. You get what you see, whether on stage or elsewhere.
Billie Eilish, she started her career because of Aurora. She was the trigger. Exactly this song.

Fun fact: the video are filmed in her parents garden (Lysefjorden in the background), and the woods nearby. Aurora played a lot in these woods as a child. The actually used a bell to "call her in" for dinner đ

Nature is very much part of the Nordic / Scandinavian state of mind/mentality. It's a big part of us who live in the Northern part of the globe. I'm sure there are a lot of reasons for it, but one of the main things might be that the changes in nature really controls our lives - the endless sun during short summers and the pitch black darkness for a large part of the year. So when the nature comes alive it has a big impact on us, we come alive with it, and also vice versa when nature starts to fall asleep and the darkness lands, we withdraw in our warm nests until we come alive along with nature again. For me as Finnish person this was just a way to be, and that is why I connect with Aurora so well. I never thought of it at all, that it was something "unique" in any way until I studied in Italy and it was literally pointed out to me how everyone who comes from this part of the world always references everything via nature. Like it's just in our psyche to related many things to nature. So I guess it's kind of inseparable from our spirits in a way. Of course people in other parts of the world might have very similar feelings but there is something that is very distinctive to Northern Europe. The conditions can be harsh at times, the seasons are very distinct, the winter is long and there's barely any sunlight, and in return the summers are bountiful of light and the contrast is huge. I think it plays a big role as in a way we feel and also makes us very aware how dependent we are on our environment, the important role it has in our daily lives. Nature also plays a big part in our spiritual lives as it's the place where go to relieve stress and experience a connection, with nature but also with ourselves.

This was a very interesting reaction. I'm a musician and my listening efforts are always heavily in favor toward the emotions and intricacies of what the music is doing. This reaction was all lyric based. Very philosophical, no comment on the music. Makes sense with the channel name, but very different focus from my own listening tendencies. More than a few of Aurora's songs deal with confronting one's own mortality. I think that's at least one interpretation of this song. During our time, we all keep running for a soft place to fall.
