Against Green, you basically have to fire off your "counter unless you pay X" spells ASAP because you're never guaranteed to get to use those. Spell Pierce is also super mid against them. If you wanna actively try to beat them, devote 2-3 of your creature slots to Shacklegeist and put some hard counters like Disdainful Stroke in your board as like a 2-of.
I'm on a similar gameplan to you. Trying to lead with CO and transform into the Midrange build when needed. Still trying to figure out the best use of slots between Pierce/slip, Animus/katilda, and gobakhan/whatever
I think that wirh the current meta pierce is definetly better! Because of sorin, fable, and planeswalkers. Plus you can CO on a creature and keep either a Gheislight snare or a spell pierce for protection
That mono-green player conceded way too early. Putting that aside I've been out of the magic loop for a while. I didn't know spirits got a new two drop in Dust Animus. Looks like I need to grab some upgrades for my old build. Need to pick up some copies of No More Lies too
I like our matchup into Amalia, it's really hard for them to assemble a combo without us participating. Vampires is harder, but Pierce > Slip in the main means they resolve Sorin a LOT less than they want to be able to. Preacher, specifically, gives us a hard time.

I like this deck. Tried it MTGO and it was good (also won 2-0 phoenix). However, I found myself lost against Nykthos ramp. Any advice ?

Yeah, Spell Pierce has deff been my go to. I think Slips have MUCH more value in Mono Blue.

I've actively enjoyed both! The Dust Animus has been playing a LOT better than it looks.

I have to say I hate that Durress & Thoughtseize combo is one of the things I hate about current MTG HAHAHA the worst!
Its pretty annoying sometimes. Trying to resolve three drops against legitimate Legacy cards can be rough 😅
