I do try to be Christ like according to the Word, but I know I am not perfect and also know that if I try to be I will make myself miserable in this world while I still have to live in it. I'm already miserable enough as is with the current state of things and where I can see how it's headed and how I am powerless to do anything substantial about it. I'm not going to add to my misery by avoiding everything that doesn't 100% conform to the Word's standards. I know what the commandments are, I know what is unacceptable to the Lord, and I know that my God is a God of Truth and Reason. See in the bible what it says about the Holy Spirit and the Greek word for a type of love, agape and agapeseis, that is used in the verses about the two most important commandments. Love the Lord thy God with all your heart, soul, and mind, and love thy neighbor as thyself. He is reasonable and judges by function, not by form. He sees what is in the heart, not the appearance. I try to do the same. Seek the Lord while He may be found, for there are many in this world already given over to a reprobate mind because they rejected the Truth or they assented to support of obvious lies for their own selfish reasons. The writing on the wall is obvious now at this point. May the Heavenly Father bless you all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ if it be the Father's will, or cheers, if that's your preferred greeting instead.
Very interesting brother! I wanted to be Like the Christ I drew on "my" SELFISH ego. I don't fully know the word, out of ignorance, no. By choice perhaps. but I believe that "loving your God" distances me a little from what I believe to be "God" and I really appreciate "loving your neighbor as yourself" understand that, first you must love yourself, so that you can love your neighbor in the same way. In the end, I live in a world of illusions perhaps, but I am very grateful for this life and for all the complex existence of this reality, and I look forward to good news and times of wisdom together. gratitude!!
