I think Clifford Brown just played this tune in a way that seemed final for it for me on trumpet. Economical, not overplayed..just freaking sensitive and brilliant in every way.

All musician work their asses off towards being able to express what they want. Have to respect that. Red Rodney wasn't Clifford Brown either. But he was Red Rodney and he was great and I love him, Sam Noto and others as well.
Emmet never ceases to surprise me with the depth of historical knowledge in his playing. You all are a treat to my ears!
