This is clearly the way to go. A frustration for some of us is availability of shoe size with this feature. I have size 15B (narrow) feet. Out of luck.

One important tip.....sometimes it is very difficult to disengage..... a quick fix....spray the cleat and the receptacle on the pedal with WD40 oil periodically. It makes it just so easy and toy don’t lose retention. I keep a small can in my saddle bag at all times as part of my tool kit.

Thank you! This was just the information I needed to keep me from installing the cleats upside down and backwards on my mail ordered shoes.

We recommend Shimano SPD shoes and pedals. You can call us to get advise on which one may be right for you.

How about a demonstration of how to lock in your shoe clip to the pedal? It looks like you have to elevate the top part of your foot before pressing downward toward the heel. The video didn't cover this and it should have.

We'll see about making a close up video. The basic concept is to put your foot on the pedal and push down and forward on the pedal with your cleat which is attached to the bottom of your bike shoe.

So from a seated position how do you exit the pedal? It looks like you used some force to perform the sample exit and you used your hands only. It would be better to see this done from a seated position especially for older riders.

I'd like to see you demonstrating the "egg beater" system.

What brand shoes and pedals are you demonstrating?

After riding with clips, I would hate to ride without them.

I have the recreational pedals on my Catrike 700. Is there a way to tighten the grip of the pedals on the cleat? I'm paranoid of legsuck.

I can't wear them. They give me really bad pain after an hour or so of pedalling. I wear Crocs (normal in the summer, fleece lined in the winter) with Catalyst pedals and the long pins and my foot has never slipped even a bit.

I am thinking about thoes pedals. I wonder if heel straps can be used with them?
