The “Kenes aga” they are talking about at the end of the program is the teacher/mentor who died of Covid in the summer of 2020. Dimash sang his composition “Qaragym-ai” in honor of his memory.

Dimash has always been an extraordinary young man, down to earth, with great values and a heart as big as he is. Every day I admire him more, he grows and grows as an artist and a human being. He is admirable and very easy to love.

I'm trying to remember the link to the video that followed him around the day he was ill ...going to the doctor etc and it shows how unwell and worried he and everyone was. How he was able to sing really was a miracle. I'll let you know when I find it :)
