The thing on the bottom of the rear view mirror is for the alarm(if your car has it). It should flash every 5 seconds once you locked the car. Love from UK!

The “thing-a-ling” on the rear view mirror is part of the security system.
It also detect sunlight so it can dim the rearview mirror while your driving at night to minimize glare.
@@NihilistSolitude i don’t know but on my car if you twist it , it tilts the rear view mirror to deflect light 👍
Also if you don’t have your key on you and want to see if the car is locked it will flash red to show its armed
Hi Nour, that little lever on the rearview mirrow tilt it up so deflects most of the high beam from incoming vehicles at the night.. so you still can see the rear of the road without the high beam low your visibility..

The mirror is auto darkening, it doesn't flip like on most other cars
It's a photocell, where as like the first comment, It'll automatically darken to give you better view when high beams are on your behind.

2:40 that mesh pocket is for storing the cup holder cover. Later year models do not come with a cup holder cover because instead there is a sliding panel over the cup holder. 7:52 that little thing below the rear mirror is actually the alarm indicator light. It flashes when the alarm is armed but you need to have the alarm option.
Oh yeah that little bubble on the rear view mirror is the housing for the security light and when you twist it to the left, goes to dark mode so you can avoided being blinded by headlights behind you at night.

You can roll up the windows from the outside by holding the lock sensor on the door handle outside
So before i watched i knew most of the things you mention i would probably already know.... but still knew there's a possibility i kould learn something new & i did. I did not know about that other charge port under the glovebox or what that button inside the Glove box was for. Now i kan use that other port for my dash kam charger & keep the one under the radio free for my phone. Thanks Kid
If you hold the lock "lines" down on the exterior door handle it will close all windows and sun roof. Pretty dope. Hope this helped
So the clear dome sticking out from under the mirror is not the light sensor for the auto dimming mirrors as may people are incorrectly pointing out. It is actually the interior motion sensor for the cars security system as well as where the led indicator that shows that the system is armed. On cars without auto dimming twisting the dome will activate the mechanical dimming. The light sensor for the auto dimming feature is in the upper middle on the glass of the mirror.

they could still access your when doing the valet parking trunk lock option thru the glove compartment as you demonstrated... just drop middle back seat & BOOM full access to your trunk. lolol i figure that shit out on my own F30

Nice that BMW kept the same features like on the E46 like the window down and up also the side mirror going down when in reverse. I had these features on my first E46 back in the day and my friends were a little impressed. lol
The trunk valet lock can be bypassed by lowering the pass through and popping the trunk with the emergency release. You can also lower the rear seats by reaching in and pulling on the levers to access the trunk. You can close all windows and doors and moonroof by using the passenger side comfort access, place your finger there and hold it and the windows and moonroof will close just like holding down the unlock button opens all doors, windows and moonroof.
That knob on the mirror is to move your mirror up/down when someone behind you has their brights on...you can move it by turning the knob..
It is also used as an indicator to show that the car is locked

@M U, the dimming feature is inserted in the top centre of the mirror itself, you're right for manually dimming though, if there's a blinking led inside, it means the car alarm is active

That little nob thing by rear view mirror is for at night when the person behind you has there brights on you can dim it so it doesn’t bother or distract your driving, I love your vids man and you motivated me to get a bmw myself, I’m only 16 and drive a 2006 bmw 325xi and have some things done, nothing big but thanks for all the motivation and keep up the hard work nord

The thing underneath the rearview mirror is for your windshield wipers in rain sensing mode to automatically control the wipers. Pretty cool -FBO 435i GC
I don’t think so, the rain sensors on cars are actually mounted on the windshield

You can retrofit NBT F30 navi on E90. I did it on my E90. I have the NBT with touch joystick, rear camera, touch buttons, DVD, etc. You can also install an android screen that gives you extra multimedia options in the car and keep the CCC for the basic info and for radio function. The android option is much cheaper and easier to install (Just search vor E90 android screen).
The plastic dome under the rearview mirror flashes when the car is locked. Also, if you want to turn motion detection for the alarm system, after you exit the vehicle and press the lock button, press it one more time. That dome will light up one more to tell you it's off. I do it sometimes when I leave my dog in the vehicle. However, don't leave your dog in the car for too long, and NEVER leave your dog in the car when in direct sunlight, or in warm temperatures!
Its actually a sensor that dims the mirror when it detects alot of light like someone behind you is using full beams

The mirror bubble has an led light in it that blinks once per second when the car is locked
7:56, try to rotate it will put your mirror on slight angle so it becomes darker if you have strong sunlight or headlights flashing your mirror

I just got a 2011 328i xDrive and love the n52 gang
I unlocked my DVD system, put in a 4tb external HDD in the cubby between driver and passenger, now my daughter can watch all her favorite shows/movies/music. MP3/WAV/OGG/MP4/MKV/MOV/AVI/MPG/DivX etc. It will play just about ANY media format. Great for long road trips. And no, I do not feel any need to look at it while driving. It is illegal in most states, so if you get pulled over: disconnect the USB drive (cop may think you are reaching for something tho), or press a button to change the screen to a menu item so you don't get a ticket. With the split screen I can have my navigation in one window (right) and she can watch something on the left. I highly suggest buying the "BimmerCode" app for your phone and a WiFi adapter for your OBD2 port. You can program so much in your BMW. There are SO MANY cool features BMW doesn't program into your car than can be changed and changed back within minutes.

That cubbie is the right size for a G26!! 🤐 You can code DVD in motion. Most of that stuff is in the owners manual. The manual is in the iDrive or online if one doesn't have the OM.

Those preset buttons aren't just music presets they can be set to a wide range of things like audio mode, phone calls, nav destinations, etc. They used to only be radio presets so they have been incorrectly branded that way forever.

first you can close and windows by holding the lock on the FOB or on the holding touch point on the door handle , just like on the E9x and all the MINIs with comfort access. seconded the big light on the rear view is the indicator for the car alarm if the alarm is active it will blink and if it has been set of while you where away it will double blink, i believe, when you get in the car, it is in the manual under the alarm system section

hey i have a question, what about inside headlights, i thought it was high beam, but it is not, there are 2 headlights both side, (close to kidney grill both inside headlights)
Just for more information, the mirror tilt, requires your mirrors to have power folding mirrors, the door handle lights sometimes will be coded off, to enable is you’ll need experience in bimmercode or e sys, video in motion is another one of the coding options ins bimmercode and esys, the window rolling up and down is possible to roll it up, on older vehicles you hold down the lock button, newer models your required to use the keyless lock and hold your hand on top of the grooved lines on the handle, the windows should roll up after around 5 seconds, the action that he did was called re-initialization, and can be done for all windows if they won’t automatically go all the way down when you press it down fully, you do this (on most not all cars) by pressing the window switch down, and hold it for 5-10 seconds, next pull and hold up for 5-10 seconds, that should fix it, to initiate bmws coolant bleed you set your heater to max with ignition on, and press the accelerator to the floor past the small blip of resistance hold it for a short time and the water pump will begin to run, and because he mentioned the cigarette lighter under the dash, here’s another kinda hidden/vehicle specific thing, in the glove box on the upper right, there will be a USB port, keep in mind this is only for bmws with a nbt evo unit installed (any bmw that is model year 2016 or newer)
My 2014 f31 doesn't have electric folding mirrors, but does tilt the glass when reversing

The 1-8 buttons that you were using can save almost anything. whether it be phone numbers, addresses, radio stations ETC ETC. you dont have to save the radio stations to that button that is why the presets feature ( that you can find in radio is there. It can be used to save of to 40 of your favorite stations from FM to AM to Satellite Radio ( if you have satellite). then once you've saved the stations you can just save the whole preset list to any of those buttons and whenever you want to open your presets you can just press the selected button you have for it and it reveal all of your favorite stations that you saved.

Killer Inst1ncz it’s not through the settings you just highlight whatever you want to save and hold whichever button you want to save ( for example 1) until you hear a ping at the end showing you that whatever you saved was programmed

The thing on your rear view mirror is to stop you getting blinded from drivers behind you. You twist it and your mirror moves down and dims the lights behind you
The thing that looks like a button under the mirror can be turned to move the mirror in some magical way which prevents you from being blinded from behind while still letting you see out of the mirror.(That's what it does on my 1 series anyway)

The door lights come up when you put the car in reverse so you can see the curb. Like not to hit the curb while reversing
Contrary to the previous statement, the feature on the bottom of the mirror is not the high beam assistant. That's something that is referred to as the clown nose and it goes all the way back to the E46. It's just a light that blinks when your alarm is on. High beam assistant is on the back of the mirror.
7:52 I believe that one is a motion detector, BMW has it on their alarm system since the E39.

I work for BMW, most of that is standard stuff on the vehicle. I will say newer 3 series actually took the feature where the door handle lights, light up in reverse away.. I don't like that they took it away. I had no idea about the power outlet under dash though! That's cool haha.
Mine didn't do that stock but was able to enable in bimmercode
