Buster’s bit is far and above the best.
its called never judge a book by it cover , you never know. also always be humble because there is always someone ,faster , smarter, stronger etc.
Excellent as always.
I did watch the whole movie, and unlike many people. that only the scenes with Buster Scruggs were good. I thought the whole movie was really good. although I have to admit the scenes with Buster Scruggs. were some of the best scenes in the movie. especially the scene where he kicks the plank on the table. causing his opponent to shoot himself in the head three times. that has to be one of best scenes I have seen in any western movie.
Simply a great movie
Great recap...I loved the movie. This fills what I didn't understand.
Buster Scruggs reminded me about dying when he floated upward. Something we all individually face. How eerie
My friend, if you really believe you are going to float upwards you have nothing to worry about.

... and nothing to loose 😂
Even if you don't like the Coen brothers or Westerns, there's a story in this movie that anyone can enjoy. It's a unique and great story that's worth appreciating.
Thanks for the run down of this movie.
I love all the films by the Coen Brothers. They are absolutely genius writers and directors of some of the best films of the modern era, along with Quentin Tarantino, and Wes Anderson.
Why didn't he get a drink after he shot them all?!?
You really need to leave your den and exit into the outside world; evidently you don't get around enough. This plodding child like movie while marginally entertaining, is not the stuff of "genius". Do people like you actually vote?
Quentin Tarantino and Wes Anderson, can never equal the Coen brothers. especially when a person considers movie's. such as '"Brother Where Art Thou" and the remake of"True Grit". and the many other fantastic movies they have directed.
@@musicauthority-kt6zy ---- I agree that the Coen brothers are better film makers. Their stuff is on another level. I'd even say that Wes Anderson is better than Quentin.
But, comparing them to one another on the finished product is an act in futility because their styles are so different.
Quentin's work is comic book, pulp fiction, more entertainment purely for entertainment. Wes's work is like the intellectual kid who is the eccentric punk rocker that you know is genius but is so weird and quirky that his character's individual strangeness is the is the genius and his choice of casting those characters.
Coen Bros are just incredible at everything that Wes and Quentin are great at and more. They cover the whole film making processes of character psyche, that is so incredible, and the story depth and pulling the audience in for the ride, be it quirky and dark, or serious and mentally dangerous, or the way their characters are real people that we identify as people that we know or could know in real life. They pull the audience in to take the ride alongside their characters.
Their writing is second to none.
I can say that I worked on Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, and it was an amazing experience. So much work went into the details of things that audiences aren't even going to notice but subconsciously they will.
Getting a phone call and being asked if I had time to take on a project that will be pretty much six days a week for five months, knowing only that it was a big budget film and some of the biggest names in the business as talent and crew, because it was a secret, the whole production was very guarded and no one could discuss what was being filmed or if it was a movie or a commercial. Which was an ongoing crew joke on location when public were around and would ask what we were shooting we would say it was a mayonnaise commercial. Hahahahaha they never believed us but .....
I've worked on a Spielberg film and Tom Ford film and lots of other top directors and A crews and A actors in those projects but I would work for free on a Coen brothers project same with Wes Anderson. Hell, I would have worked for free on Once upon a time.
Sorry for the long comment
@@13_13k All three of them are great film makers. I was just pointing out that the Coen brothers have something special.
Interesting.thank you
Buster is a LEGEND!
Great movie loved the storys buster is my favorite story great actor please check out old Henry great movie
it was a good movie good job
Hi
man buster shoulda had his own series
I really enjoyed these short stories. I've watched the movie a few times. It probably helps that I'm a big Tom Waites fan.
Brad Griffin, Tom "I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy" Waits for no man.
Good Stuff,😄👍🏿
Here for the jokes! Once again you don't disappoint!
Great flick.🤠
The kid was not faster then buster (he asked buster do you want a count buster said no thinking he'll just line up go for it instead the kid shoots if it hada been man o man it would be more buster business thank you
It was a good movie, but id rather listen to the movie and not the content person.
Very funny movie!
I like the hanging scene at 4:30 when he asks the man next to him if it's his first time LOL

When is this movie going to be available on DVD?
It has been years. It's like waiting for Malcolm in the Middle to come out on DVD.
What's the glitch?
This is one of the most unique comments section I've ever read for a video
What movie is this?
Boy oh boy it’s an insight into the. Opening of the west and if you have studied this period it is genius and this is from an AUSSIE

This reminds me of a Quinton tarrentino (?) Type Movie.

There's no parallel to that story. And in French that would bring nonpareil

Consistently Pray for forgiveness, guidance in a good (positive) direction, and for help against evil. Pray to be saved from hell (whatever that may be). Pray for your friends and your family too, it only takes a minute or so/less at a time to pray. Do it and your life will slowly get better, or maybe quickly. It probably just depends on you and the kind of person you are/have been. Don't wait until its too late and you have to suffer the consequences of built up bad karma from immoral acts/unrepented sins. Maybe together we can help make the world a better place by changing ourselves for the better, and changing things around us for the better.
And addressing/thanking the CREATOR, LORD GOD at the beginning and end of your prayers would be a good idea 😊
Or just be my friend if you don't want to say the prayer 😄
I'm trying to help you get right with the LORD🙏
Amen.
You should prostrate yourself if you don't want to do spoken prayer, or do both☺ Please worship the LORD GOD and not any idol. 😊😊😊😊
Sounds like a wonderful idea, SWN, but who believes they re bad enough to go to hell AND that Jesus is eternal life AND that He doesn t promise a feeling but insists you rely ONLY on His word:
"All those who come to me l shall in no wise cast out"
This is asking a lot from ppl who have never read the Bible
So which of the over 4000 or more active religions currently scamming people of their time, money and effort are you pimping?
@@ATEC101
Those would be formalized religions, Steve, not what Mr Nelson is talking about
There is the truth of Jesus Christ
Then there are the systems of error that use His truth to enrich themselves
Where are you going when you die?
Towards the end of his life, the real Steve McQueen was asked this question by his flight instructor
Steve didn t know and so over a couple of weeks, Steve took the time to read through the gospel of John ("l am the way, the truth and the life... no one comes to the Father except through me")
And Romans ("All have sinned and come short the glory of God")
McQueen took the time to figure it out
On his death bed, his last words were
"I did it", meaning he was successful in navigating this insidious world, arriving at the truth of eternal life after all
Ask Christ to save you from hell and He will

Agreed. I was like. At least Fuckin Let the dude see some Tits and Ass. Why turn him around?
That in no way would be a good relationship. Might aswell as ask to be sold off then drowned. I mean… people back then… I don’t know.
I think he was better off just dead. But not like the way he died.
He lived a very shitty life indeed.
Definitely
I wonder what's the story or meaning behind the movie and all its short stories.
You re gonna die so you d better figure out what s waiting for you on the other side
It has little to no meaning, other than to entertain bored children lost in their own sense of wonder. Never have I witnessed the words "brilliant" and "genius" so wrongly applied to a nondescript movie with an unconvincing cast of washed up actors, attempting to relive the glory of a bygone age. Rather than wasting time with this foolishness you would be far better served spending a day watching your toenails grow.
3:22: Deflect, not reflect.
Cholera is pronounced with the accent on the first syllable.
Yeah I heard him say cho.. lera and said WTH who taught this guy English
I love this movie but the Impresario and Prospector stories break my heart every time😔
I kept waiting for a punch line that never came.
Had a friend once who said he turned UNbeliever precisely because of this , and many other Hellyweird-like movies' tall tales by such brothers he felt he'd been trained to watch, out of boredom really.
He AeLso used to say that he liked Gaumont movies better; whatever that means for I have no idea, since I myself quit watching movies decades ago, and so should Hellywood making them, specially now that Clint Eastwood passed on...Shema!!!.
The outlaw turned out to be a terminator T1000. He ran like a quarter horse when all 6 shots did not drop him.
I could swear you are the same narrator for the NDEs
I enjoyed it, but I couldn't tell you what it was. Lol.
Buster story kind of fun, but the rest of the stories were pretty dark.
Not happy endings.
Especially Harrison.
Unfortunately he probably died the shittiest most depressing life a man could live.
Just to die a Shitty Death. With the last thing being, utter Helplessness.
The guy who Feeds, and wipes your ass suddenly hates you. Buys a chicken to replace you. And flat out Murders you.
The least he could’ve done is Let him watch when he buys whores. Or buy him a whore. Or even just sell him off to a circus. Someone is bound to treat him better.
The Indian one made me think of my Love. To think i am in love with someone. Some shit happens. She runs off. Find her. Under attack. I get downed but not out. Run to see if she’s okay… just to find my mistress splattered her brains everywhere.
Must be that the Coen Brothers never played poker. Anyone can quit a hand in poker any time they like -- it's called folding.
I saw this movie and was like wtf !! Did I just watched I kinda thought maybe at the end all the different paths would connect but noooo they totally don't ! 😂😂😂 Soooo your just like wtf was that ! It's brilliant really brilliant but I must warn you you will absolutely never have a stronger urge to jam 💡💡 into your eye sockets
In truth it's plodding child like and rather stupid. Unless of course your horizon begins at the end of your nose.
You're wrong, that's probably because you didn't get the gist of it.
the runt from Reata Pass? the san songa songbird? west Texas twit?
Did you say “the bank teller pretends to COLLABORATE”? You mean “cooperate”, don’t you?
The general tone of the film is that everything was awful in the past. It has the feel and the stories like a lot of other modern films that imagine the modern world as the new creation and all of history as barbarians in the mud. Of course the stories are true to the time period and accurate, it's just not a good idea to forget that most of the world is still this bad today, and that the west never actually rose above it, just made the messy things private.
This is one of the most serious and accurate shows I have never seen, but if I did see it there would be magic mushroom's involved. lol.
So its the movie from which " first time " meme came from .
Only a coward shoots someone in the back.wether he was good or bad...
What exactly was the purpose of your video. To hear yourself talk ?
This movie seems composed of transient heroes most of whom are soon terminated. And the moral to the movie is like trying to convince an Olympic champion swimmer that since he could swim in water he could then automatically swim in fog as well!
1-John the Noble Savage talking about ''transient heroes'' though, isn't that precisely what happened when the ''UNsinkable'' Titanic and a too tall iceberg (nothing more than hardened water, really) had a meeting of sorts ''in fog as well'', wouldn't you say?.
2-And like it's AeLways happened after getting on each other's way , one sank and the other a few decades later ended up AeLmost totally melting away , or so they said on a National Geographic documentary special.
3-Just saying, as again it started raining all of a sudden; and that's no tale. Sync it with the area's Doppler radar, if still in doubt...Shema!!!
alexstewart: Good observation (I think) one cute aside is at the shootout between the hero and his contra hero meet at the end you never actually see the winner draw his gun and you don't have to be a gun nut to understand that the hand of the contra hero has alot further to travel for his gun than the hero had to get his?
Cholera is pronounced with emphasis on the first syllable. Not the second.
The third story about the prospector is based upon the Jack London story "All Canyon Gold".
Why do you think you need to explain what's pane for all to see?
I don't think that buster or the kid were quicker than the others but they cheated.
When David asked the other person if you wanted account and when they said no sir they would immediately shoot.
That was the cheat.
The movie is a work of art.
(But did the bank teller's pots and pans *reflect* the outlaw's bullets? Or *deflect* them, perhaps? Well, if the pots and pans were shiny and new, maybe both. ;)
This would have been just dandy had we been able to hear the movie audio instead of you.
so you missed the point of this video?
@@johngreydanus2033 Apparently. I do not know why we need to have a play by play from a color man for so simplistic a movie.

I actually read somewhere that all the stories are interconnected somehow, but now I forget how.

😊
And what you described; this story, except for the surreal first tale, is a good depiction of every day life in Hell. We still live there today, but with better technology. Keep your women happy and spoiled, so that all they want to do is birth babies and trap more souls in this forced labor camp / arena.
And this time period was considered the best of times, compared to the dark times. Let that sink in.
Am I missing something or is there no plot
You aren't missing anything it is like the emperor with no clothes you are being played.
It s a collection of short stories, focused on death
The last bit in the stagecoach is extremely clever bc the bounty hunters are death and hell and they re escorting the 3 passengers to a place from whence they ll never return
Quite prophetic

@@JohntheNobleSavage
Of course, l cheated, MM, having watched a CZcams video detailing the nuances of the film
The guys who put this film together spent a looooong time thinking about it... back in 2006 they put the tap on the actor who played Buster Scruggs to commit to the film
It didn t come out until 10 years later
Jim: Back before the moon was created I found myself in an Ivy graduate school in Math and Physics surrounded by extremely bright Asians who spoke English far better than I Chinese or Korean. Consequently, I took an elective "Survey of Shakespeare" which was taught by a collective group of highly motivated graduate students which of course translated into my taking the 38 Shakespearean plays (two plays a week plus a weekly test). I soon found out that due to the environment in which William lived (under Elizabeth I and James I) that due to England's relationship with Spain the monarchs were highly nervous on the best of their days. Consequently, all of the plays had collateral hidden meanings. So I kind of got used to it plus no politician is ever totally honest - particularly today. Well that's it for my brilliance I got a lot of work to do today with twenty in laws coming over for lunch! Have a happy turkey day!
