That's just a straight kick in the balls! I don't care what kind of car it is, $10,000 for a key!?!? I'm a locksmith by trade and I also own three Volkswagens, I made a spare key for my new Atlas. Hell if you're willing to pay 10 grand which I think is absolutely ridiculous and I don't think you should do it, I'll come up with a gold-plated key fob with Bugatti engraved however you'd like it for $7,500

Considering that is the same key you get in a Jetta with a leather cover and metal sides, it has to be one of the worst rip offs in history.
And this is why (and no offense to Strad here), I just can't take brands like Bugatti, Koenigsegg, Pagani, etc. seriously. The price they charge for their vehicles is already insane, but then they're all "a key is $10k. Oil changes are $2-3k each. Tires? lol how much you got on you?"
Look, I get it. Most people who buy these cars could care less about these maintenance costs. But otoh, that's kinda why they're hardly ever driven. I recall one of Manny's videos a while back where, on the way to have one of his cars serviced, that he never drives it because even regular maintenance is too expensive. If the cost to own is almost more punitive than the cost to buy, the car becomes a garage queen - which kinda undercuts the purpose of the car to drive and perform.
