    "You didn't do your research" - Murray being rude, 2022
    I had never heard of ground lift devices at this level before, which is fascinating. It won't negate the downsides of motherboard audio hardware, but that's a nice touch. Incidentally, I am not sure about this, but using the USB mic/headphone adapter DOES bypass mobo sound, since it would run on USB drivers. It is essentially the most budget-friendly audio interface in existence. A ground lift on top of that would do alright, on the affordable end of the spectrum!
    Another thing to consider when routing audio through interfaces is mic/line/instrument levels for your ins/outs. I suspect that most modern USB hardware detects the levels in use, particularly XLR plugs, which tend to be mic/line level switchable. Plugs marked "Inst", unless otherwise stated in the hardware manual, may ONLY be instrument/Hi-Z level, which is not appropriate for anything but the likes of electric guitars and such. I don't know enough about the Behringer interface, let alone the GoXLR range, to be specific about it, though that's my experience with other similar hardware. Just something to be aware of, in case stuff ain't sounding right.
    As always, great video, Murray. See you on stream!

    Thanks a ton. I had an old 2i2 first gen laying about and tossed the line out from my GoXLR mini into the quarter inch jack on the first combo jack, then quarter inch from the headphone monitor back into the line in on the mini and it works! My main rig is a desktop and I had another desktop but the mobo died a while back and had a gaming laptop I opted to use as the stream PC instead. Had to go and buy a whole $250 external PCIe enclosure with thunderbolt support to pop my 4k60pro mk.ii into so I could still use that capture card through my laptop. Before I was using vban routed correctly but the network issues and drops in audio over time were starting to take its toll on me and I was looking into a splitter until I seen you mention the Audio interface and remembered I had one from back in 2011 when I bought it sitting in a box still lol. Anyways earned a sub, appreciate the info, I never even considered it

    i use a Behringer x1622 mixer to connect 2 PC. to fix the Ground loop problems i use two Filters between the mixer and each line outs at the PC´s. works excellent!

    Good video. as I am over 50 and not native english hard to follow. Best would be to show the routing cables not only talk about. I think the biggest problem I have is my Presonus IO24 has no line in/out but is far better then the GoXLR I had before. EDIT: I found your blog with pictures. helped me a lot 🥰🥰

    This helped for the microphone. I'm still having issues routing the audio of the gaming PC sound to the streaming PC. IS there any recommendations for this? This video is the closest to what I need done, and im half way there.

    Good afternoon!
    I had purchased a GoXLR mini and had it setup up for my dual PC streaming.
    The setup is: LINE IN of GoXLR into LINE OUT of gaming PC. Then, Line OUT of GoXLR into LINE IN of my streaming PC. So, everything is set up correctly, according to the instructions and the dozens of videos I have watched.
    There is one issue though… Since I am running LINE IN into my streaming PC,all of my audio (Music, Game, Discord and Mic) are under the same channel (LINE IN) in my OBS of my streaming PC. My question is, how do I separate the audio tracks in this instance?
    After trying to find a solution for hours on end, I decided to reach out to you.
    I hope I didn’t confuse you too much, if I did - let me know, and I will rephrase my explanation.
    Thank you for your time!

    Can I use C/USB to 3.5 adaptor to play songs from my PC/laptop on my home stereo system? quality of sound? I use AUX option located at back of my Stereo Amplifier.

  • @Sammalaa
    @Sammalaa Před rokem +1

    I used the external usb sound adapter and the quality is so terrible. Mic quality is somewhat fine, but my game and music barely even render and when they do it sounds just awful. Will try the the third option..

    If i have a mixer can i just connect the trrs connection from the laptop to the mixer? Or will i need the splitter, then connect from the splitter to the mixer?

    Ok this video is extremely nice, you are a great dude. I recently got scammed on buying HD 60S and Elgato stream deck it was my mistake. But now I can't afford to buy anything fancy not even audio interface which my plan was to buy m audio so I need some other solutions. I already use NDI mostly but coz of micro stutters and audio desync I need a properly hardware solution. Coz performing live music is issue on NDI and extra load on modem. I want to know if my gaming pc aux goes into laptop's headphones combo jack using splitter what bit rate of audio I be getting I have cheap capture card for $8 and it does somewhat job of keeping audio video sync but audio quality is only 16 bits and locked to horrible quality. Huge difference from NDI which is ultra quality and same audio quality as on my gaming rig, excellent. Now that 3d audio card will do the job on audio quality? I have used several other methods like a software to send audio via modem other than NDI and also OBS teleport but again, same issue lags and stutters quality was great but desync and things.
    My main question is what bit rate I will be getting from sending audio through gaming rig's aux out to splitter TRRS into laptop which is Lenovo i3 10th Gen.

    Hi,
    Thank you for this video. This says, i have 3 questions:
    1) What is the point of connecting line out of pc streaming to line in goxlr? Line out goxlr to line in pc streaming is not enough to get the sound from pc gaming?
    2) Since the gain etc...are already set to goxlr, what are the settings for the Behringer? (I don’t want to damage my shure)
    3) Should the 48v phantom power supply also be enabled on the Behringer as it is already enabled on the goxlr?
    Thanks a lot.

    Ok so my only question is this... I use GLI between my goxlr and my stream pc but should it be closer to my stream pc or my goxlr I misunderstood what you say at the 6 minute mark where you say put this as far close to your streaming pc? Thank you

    • @MurrayFrost
      @MurrayFrost  Před rokem +1

      So wherever your signl is going, put it as far down that line as you can. For example. Let's say you have an audio cable coming from your gaming PC and it is making it's way to a sound board that is connected to your stream PC. Place the GLI between the cable and the sound board so that there is no hum in the audio. The reason being is that during the trip from your gaming PC to the sound board, the audio will get inteferiance through the cable. I hope that makes sense

    I have a gaming headset with both mic and audio 3.5mm jack and i want to connect it to my laptop. Is it better to connect it through a "Y" splitter or like a 20$ usb sound card?

    • @MurrayFrost

      Either will work. They Y splitter is most common
