Hey😀. I’m a year late to this conversation LOL, but in my 30 & 40’s I had vibrant red hair, then I tried some purple and blue chunks. I got a lot of grief from people, I worked with seniors ( in a gym) and they could come in with colored chunks of hair and no one said anything!!! It was like if your really young people don’t say anything and if your really old it’s “cute”. But people made rude comments to me all the time! I love colorful hair!!! I bought all my extension supplies from you many many moons ago, but basically stopped doing anything because my hair is so thin and sparse I’m afraid to do anything!!!!! I would love to have my colorful hair back. Thank you for all your wonderful and informative videos!!! 🤗

Ahhhhh, the magic number 5 at the start of your age is a powerful thing.
Im hitting the big 50 in 2 months time but ive been saying im closer to 50 than 40 for years when asked my age and most people dont believe me.
Im currently making a set of black with electric blue boliage single ended synthetics as im a year in from growing out my mow hawk and my hair is at such a horrible length on me but my hair atm is black , well the blue over my dark brown looks blue black and the grays are like i have electric blue high lights on every thing from my ears back and the front of my hair is cut with long layered curtain bangs with a blended face cut thats at its longest , about half way down my neck... i can put my hair back in the silliest little pig tails now with some help of some hair combs but with everything layered i have everything up the front bleached with a dusty kind of mint colour poking out the bottom of all my layering around my face.
Then its almost smuff blue with the electric blue as a shadow root.
Ive been playing with bold colours since i was 12 and never stopped.
We use to get the stuff the old blue rince set used on their hair.
It was called magic silver white and to bright grays they would put just a few drops in a jug of water and it worked as a toner but that stuff was really concerned and thats what you used neat to have bright amethyst hair and it would fade out all the way to a baby blue , way back in the 80s .
We had to be creative to have non natural colours.
Lol ive used everything from granny toner to leather stain to get bold colours.
These will be my first set of acrylics but ive had lock on and off over the years.
Think the longest ive had them was 8 years , all my own hair and down to my but crack.
So you go get your hair coloured what ever colour you want.
Have locks or a shaved head if you like because you have the 5 at tye start of your age.
You want to see uppetry blond bobs shrink bacl in to their holes when i pull the " hun, i have tattoos older than you, when you get to 50 , you come tell me how to look, how i should have my hair !
Untill then keep your options to your bland ass self and learn to respect your elders ... geee, you must do your mother proud?!?"

You do you proudly and dont let anyone dim your light.
Next time someone says anything that not a compliment about your hair , pull rank , remind them to have more respect for their elders and if they have nothing nice to say , say nothing kiddo. Lol

@@doctoredlocks lol, i was reading though the comments and there is another woman of our vintage that was being told her hair colours where not appropriate for a woman of her age at her work and then i read this.
Must of got the 2 comments mashed up as one , hence the do what you like and pull age rank bit over hair colour.
But all in all people have to toss what they think women of our age should look like.
We are gen Xers and grow up with the sex pistols playing on mainstream radio.
We are the childen of punk, goth , death rock and metal.
We arw the new blue rince set.... lol

We should definitely do whatever makes us happy with our appearance. Hair color is an easy way to bring joy to how we see ourselves.
