There's some theories out there that it's actually down to the person themselves if they truly feel worthy to wield such a weapon due to a certain scene in the comics where Thor loses the ability to wield it after being told something that shook his core
@@dylanwilson8965 that’s a good explanation. I believe this may be having too much pride, or jealously etc. your idea of being true to your convictions make sense but at the same time, what is the limit on those convictions? I'm glad ya'll are here to answer these questions because although I know the answer in my soul. I could never hope to put it into words. Worthiness as a definition alone is hard to explain because everyone might have a different opinion of it. Yet again its also something deep in the core of our beings that knows the answer but just can't really put it into words. The fact that this was the set up for one of the biggest moments in the MCU is just gold
Legit. The entire "infinity saga" is FILLED with seemingly one off throw away lines or scenes but nothing they've ever said or ever did was throwaway and I love that. Never again will we see this level of storytelling. The pinnacle was reached, and now the waters have receeded.
@@Lord_Pistachio_Nut yep.
They didn’t set that up, they definitely decided to have that moment after the fact
@@ChummyBoy unintentional set up then 😎
Yeah they do it on purpose to get wow factor. Very simple and predictive.
Of course Thor knew! That's why he was smiling when Cap picked up the hammer in End Game! It was an awesome scene!
Hr definitely knew how scared he looked
It makes me shed a tear watching the old marvel movies, they were so good and somehow made the audience feel involved, the dynamic and chemistry between the cast also helped with the movie
not this she-hulk
Old marvel movies....? This movie isnt that old.
When did the new marvel movies start? Lol
For me old is iron man 1 , 2 maby 3
@@rayengels4431 it is. The old detectors that made the good movies left. The recent marvel movies are filmed by different directors and they’re going down the drain.
Lmaooo
I love how Cap’s reactions are so fast he lets go of it as soon as he feels it move, and then just goes along with the gig. A pure heart and a clean conscience. Loved the Marvel films before they went stupid
It moved a a bit but he wasn’t fully worthy and he didn’t let loose the moment it moved he tried harder but he still didn’t tell tony bucky killed his mother
If they are so stupid now, stop watching them. It's that simple

The old and new one are different
Captain America: “moves one inch”
Thor in mind: “OH SHIT”!
That’s bc the rest couldn’t lift it bc that’s not possible only if your worthy
@@marvelous_wifeyy Captain America is worth it.
@@ninicosgames7607 yeah, El Capitan is literally the only one who is meant to be pure and perfect, who isn't meant to be selfish and so on. Could of lifted it then but probably didn't want to show the rest up... Which is exactly why he was worthy!

Literally the Dio and jotaro fight
No one can
Only thor and the table 😅
Lol still my favorite scene, Cap was definitely cappin to spare thor feelings
It was one of the best payoffs from this scene going into endgame. Keeping it ambiguous up until the point where he actually needed to use it was pretty fire.
So fire and I consider myself a marvel casual
@Rikorage I couldn't agree more.
Right!? It's like creating and trying a new move on the fly. You've got no idea if it'll work out, but, you go for broke.

I do agree she hulk is a disappointment but I think some people are goin into mcu related shit these days already hatin it or tryna find a reason to
He got real concerned when cap tried to lift it
That’s some real foreshadowing fr
I think Thor knew for a split second that Cap was worthy. And Cap showing his humbleness.
Think about it. Cap held a dark secret that he knew bucky killed tonys parents. But he never revealed it. Hence he barely moved it. Then much later after that secret has been revealed, he is now worthy? Its a thought i always had
@@juliocordero1788 i agree with this theory
@@juliocordero1788 it's not a sorta worthy thing though. You are or are not.
He was and immediately chose not to
He probably pretended like he couldn't lift it so that Thor would still be special in some way
@@juliocordero1788 no that dark secret wasnt bad. He was protecting both of his friends. His intentions were pure. You cant be kind of worthy. He was always worthy. What could be more worthy than giving your life for the worlds sake, time and time again.
This chemistry right here is what phase 4 is missing. This scene isn't drowned in forced comedy, everything comes naturally and is enjoyable.
Fax bro
Omg so true the horrible jokes are just destroying marvel this scene is perfect I just watched Thor love and thunder that has to be one of the worst movies I’ve ever watched
True. Very fun and enjoyable scene. Phase four has taken everything that made marvel fun and engaging and turned it to crap. Once the fun aspect is gone, there is no good writing to fall back on.
Ssdly we got things like She hulk twerking
100% It hasn’t been the same lately
Not only did he say “I knew it” in endgame but there is also the fact which is you’re either worthy or not there is no in between
Cap just pretended that he can't as soon as it boged he start acting to not upset thor

He literally said " I knew it!", when Cap lifted the hammer battling Thanos.
Cap was only pretending he couldn't lift it. That is why hammer wiggled because he could in fact pick it up. Thor new his hammer doesn't wiggle it can either picked up or it can't. Cap was just being nice to Thor.
Exactly!! Lmao
I miss cap and Tony tho...
This is silly, I thought it was obvious the wiggle represents ability. The quick return and mood shift indicates realization, but just between them until later revealed.
