Spiritual surgery. To that, this is my testimony. At a worship concert, the Holy Spirit put a picture in my mind. It was one of my biological children (twins, boy and a girl) that we gave up to adoption years prior. I said "God, I thought I dealt with all this already." IMMEDIATELY I felt, physically felt, my heart being tremendously squeezed and it dropped me to my knees! Crying out to Jesus, I felt my heart being gently released from the grip. The revelation came later. The Holy Spirit shared "Yes you thought you dealt with it, BUT you were still holding onto a lot of regret and sadness. What I did, was crushed your heart, and in doing so, squeezed OUT everything that was not of me. And when I started to release your heart, like a sponge, it was soaking up and absorbing all of Me. Love. Grace. Peace. Forgiveness. Everything of who I Am."
I will never forget that encounter, not only with the Holy Spirit, but Jesus Christ, for ONLY by His stripes and His shed blood we ARE healed!

This song is so incredibly POWERFUL! I was struggling so I put on this song as I walked my daughter in the stroller & I imagined myself singing this to Jesus & the Father, passionately. Suddenly I saw in my minds eye, something like a "sonic boom" come down from heaven, hitting directly on my head & down through my feet, rippling out like a massive bomb. I was actually dizzy & started laughing as joy filled my entire being. This was 3 days ago & I am still in a high state of joy! Actually, a spiritual surgery has pain. A lot of pain. When God sets His hand on us to remove everything that is not of Him in us, it is hard and painful. We will also go through a phase where our flesh will war with what God is doing in us at that time. One of the ways God actually does the spiritual surgery on us is to pass us through what can be likened to a furnance till the impurities in us come out. The heat of the process is uncomfortable and everything in us would rather the process is not happening. We are not given the Holy Spirit to "anesthetize" our flesh, so we don't feel pain. Rather, the Holy Spirit empowers us to bear the pain, endure the difficulty and advance through the process as God does the surgical work/process in us. Also, we do come out of the process with "scars". Scars not wounds. He ensures every wound from where we've been "cut and pierced" closes up but the scars are there and they become a reference point of wisdom. There is no one that God has taken through His spiritual surgery that does not have scars. Those scars are what makes them stars. The process of the surgery is hard, painful and difficult but who we become (a person who is daily conforming to the image of the Christ) is worth the process.
