French horn players have a special love in their hearts for John Williams. The man knew how to play to the strengths of the French horn.
I always thought that French horns were a big 'no-no' in brass band. But I quite agree in your opinion on using them more.

There are a lot of great recordings of this solo on youtube but this is really stunning. Just when I thought I understood what "could" and "could not" be accomplished on piston vs. rotary-valve trumpets.
As a lover of all things John Williams, I can truly say I've never heard a better performance of this! BRAVO!!

In addition to the too-frequent cuts, the editor missed a few key solos and section features, like the chimes at 3:20.
