Arashiyama is a place you CANNOT miss in Japan. It is renowned for the famous bamboo grove it has so much more to offer! I absolutely adore this quiet little town for its history and breathtaking natural beauty. It is especially beautiful during cherry blossom season and autumn!

Thank you so much! ❤ Really depends how long you are going for. I would say give minimum 3-4 days (if you’re tight on time). You can definitely spend a lot longer here depending on how much you want to see too.

hi! Im going in may and Im trying to figure out how much time does one spend in the bamboo forest and monkey park? There are also many temples in that area and Im trying to decide wether to split the itinerary in two.... thanks !!

No you don’t get to keep it 😢 they will take it back when you return the kimono
How did you guys manage to do all that walking in those shoes! 😭 Did you consider swapping out the footwear for sneakers because I definitely would have given how much walking you have to do there 🙈
I actually didn't find the shoes uncomfortable to walk in. It was just the hike that was a struggle! Definitely didn't plan to bring our sneakers because we didn't realise how much walking we were going to be doing that day. 😅 Still the best day ever. Worth it!!

For the kimono itself, about 15 mins!
