  • This video explains why "Luke" changed the genealogy of Jesus as given by "Matthew".
The video presents conclusions based on primary evidence. It shows the answer to the genealogical problem is an authorship 'copyright' one, using gematria to present the name Kalpournios - as in Calpurnius Piso.
This video also explains the gematria answer to why Exodus 12:40 in the Greek Book of Jubilees states that Israel was in Egypt for 430 years before all the Lord's people left, instead of 400 years as given in Genesis 15:13.

You see inconsistencies like this when writers forget exactly where they are in the story the are making up.

True. But also remember that the scriptures were read to the people and not by them. Therefore contradictions would only be known and seen by the writers.

At 12:42 you say that you cover the reason why Cainan is not included in the masoretic text in an article linked in the description.
I've searched in my browser your article with strg+f for the name Cainan, but couldn't find any results.
Is your explanation more of an abstract nature, or did I miss something else?
    Thank you!

      @henryhdavis716  Před 4 měsíci

Thanks for your question. The comment about Cainan being in the Septuagint but not the Hebrew or Masoretic is an abstract comment. It concerns the authorship of the version of the Greek translation of the Hebrew scriptures we have today, known as the Septuagint. In the link in the description, evidence is presented that indicates the original Greek translation was altered by the Pisos and Herodians to include statements that linked to Christianity.

Luke did not change the genealogy. The geneologies in Matthew & Luke do not conflict or contradict. They are of 2 people, Mary & Joseph. The genealogical list in Matthew, from David to Jacob-Heli (spanning about 1000 years), contains 27 generations of 40 years each, so as to comply with the 40 year royal generational standard. Luke, on the other hand, gives 40 generations at a more comprehensible 25 years each. Hence, Luke places Jesus in the 20th generation from Zerubbabel, whereas Matthew places him in the 11th generation from Zerubbabe. SUMMARY: Matthew--27 generations of 40 years from Solomon. Patriarchal--Zerubbabel's father's line. Luke--40 generations of 25 years from Nathan. Matriarchal--Zerubbabel's mother's line. Solomon and Nathan were both sons of David. Their lines converge at Zerubbabel and then diverge. Zerubbabel had two sons, Abiud and Rhesa. Matthew goes from Abiud, Mary's line. Luke goes from Rhesa, Joseph's line. Also, Mary and Joseph were related. Joseph was Mary's great-aunt Gadat's son. Mary''s mother was Hannah. Her father was Joachim (Yonakhir) the Elias patriarch. Joseph's mother was Gadat. His father was Heli, the Jacob Patriarch. His community distinction was 'Jacob'. "Jacob' was a title, so he would be called Jacob-Heli. Joachim's mother was Sabartia (Sabrath). Joachim's father was Matthat the Zadok. Heli's father was Matthan (descended from Mattathias (Tobias), the Temple governor.

Even the early church father's don't agree with your wishful theory. Both are Joseph's lineage. Mary father is a venerated saint and his name is not Heli.

Apologists for the conflicting genealogies of Jesus presented by (Mathew 1:1-17) and (Luke 3:23-38) have made the argument that the intentions of Mathew and Luke were never to present an accurate record of Jesus's family line but to TELL A STORY.
Luke wanted to show that the line of Jesus encompassed all of humanity thus went all the way back to Adam.
Mathew wanted to underscore the nobility of Jesus so his genealogy emphasized royal associations.
These apologists admit (without apology) that both genealogies are pure fiction invented off the cuff to make a point totally unrelated to the universally understood purpose for a genealogy which is to present a record of a person's ancestry.
This creative twisting of reality is another reason why it is so difficult (impossible) for an ordinary person to interpret the Bible's message.
The Bible was written by dozens of people with differing perspectives, levels of education, and psychological balance, all of which must be understood by the reader to grasp the message they are attempting to convey. The Bible was not written by a single God who wanted to convey a cohesive message representing a single perspective.

In the end, Jesus is "the offspring of David" (Rev 22;16) , "born of a woman" (Gal 4;4), "born of the seed of David according to the flesh" (Rom 1;3).
The differences in genealogies only serves to keep people from truly "denying themselves, taking up their cross daily and following Jesus." (Luke 9:23)

@@chrishouseofdawid Jesus was both of the Spirit and of man. He most often referred to Himself as the "Son of Man."
Those who have accepted the call to "come after" Jesus, were born of woman and now have the "seed" of the Spirit in us.
The two realms - the physical and spirit realms - are currently separate. Except for Jesus. At His Resurrection, He became the "Firstborn from the dead" and is now a "Life-giving Spirit" in a "flesh and bone" body.
Oh, friend, there is so much more than we have known, as a whole, in the churches.
But the Lord had been unveiling the "mysteries of the Kingdom of God" since He first taught the Apostles, even to our day, and will continue until His manifestation at the "last day."
May we ever have "ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches" and the determination to follow Him in the Way.
