Love the red jeep with the white top. Got to behave your self when they are so rare. I know, I have one.
Excellent part 1 - looking forward to the continuation videos!
Thank you. As of now. The jeep still isnt done. Im putting getting it done over the video making. But i may start editing part 2 next week. It may be three parts. Not sure until im driving it. It will be uploaded for sure.
Excellent video. You're my kinda guys. I do this kinda stuff all the time. Can't wait to watch part 2.
Thanks so much. Its up. Part three is on winter delay but it will get here !!
awesome upload!
This is great! I love projects like these😄
I'll be sure to check out more if you're content 😉
I did the same swap in my 99 tj. Hardest part for me was getting the mounts right and I’m certainly not the best at wiring. I’d really recommend 4.11’s as 5th gear is pretty much useless, at least from what I’ve found. It’s awesome through, I never thought I’d ever see 20mpg out of a lifted jeep. You get a lot of questions and odd stares at the fuel pump “hey that’s diesel you’re putting in!”
Thats awesome. I think we have the mounts right. The problem for us there was leveling the engine. Still hacking at it. I get the same thing with my TDI VW Jetta. I always answer. Oh come onnn. Theres no real difference. It all burns.
love the video. rock on.
Can’t wait to watch this just found it at work
Thanks theres allot to watch. I hope you enjoy it.
Amazing Video!! The editing is great very well put together! Looking to do a conversion on my 90 YJ but it looks like I'll have to focus building the frame my 4.2 amc is working fine for now but would love one of these beautys
Mine is also a 90. You will have the better trans. Mine will likely not hold up. Really. Thanks for the compliment makes my day.
Thanks for such good video content. This Mercedes engine is one of the best engines ever built in history. That engine can travel a million miles. no problems. Just basic maintenance and no problems. Greetings from Europe, Montenegro. city of Bar.
Wow so cool. Id love to visit your small country. Thanks so much for checking it out.
You can come and be my guest. I live in a house on the Adriatic coast. :)
@@berykent4598 im making sure i revisit this comment next time i am heading to the EU (-: amazing
Of course, feel free to contact us at any time of the year, except in July and August. Then everything is full of tourists. I was thrilled when I watched the video with Mr. Kirk who is an incredibly patient and very nice man. You really need to have nerves and calm for what you are doing.
@@berykent4598 well. I hope you continue to enjoy the series. Kirk and i lose our patience more than once but we made something great i think. In both the series and the jeep. So great to meet such nice people.
I’ll have to do this to my jeep now. I’ve got a red 95 wrangler
make videos !
😁 we are crazy 😜 I’m about to do this swap but I have the OM603 turbo diésel and a grand Cherokee ZJ . Im hoping the best and cross fingers 🤞🏾,
Its gonna be great. The Motors arent that bad to work on really. I wish mine was done. I missed a good summer with it.
Subbed, great video! I've got an old 89 YJ with the 4.2 carbureted inline six. 168k and runs strong.
Thanks. Great to hear from you. This 10 part series is almost finished up !!
Also. My first jeep was the same thing. An old islander. The body was mint on those. The 4.2 was great. The shit bag carter carb was abject junk. I replaced it with a weber kit from ebay. Sold it with about 145k on it.
@@AlfonsLC My first idea was to toss the Carter and go with a Weber as I used to run the Weber 32/36 progressive carbs on my datsun and Chevy Luv pick ups back in the day. So far the Carter is doing pretty good. Once it starts giving me problems I'll put a Weber on it. I would hate to do it now as all of the California emissions is fully intact and operational.
Desert Explorer 302 oh man. California would hate my jeep very much. dirty as it gets diesel. there is also a very good kit to put the ford motorcraft carb on there. im sure there is someone on youtube that does it. that is even be a better swap then the weber. in my opinion.
@@AlfonsLC That's what I've read. I'm just familiar with the Weber's from back in the day. I've read they're finicky and always needing adjusting, but they were always solid carbs for me. I ordered one of the brand new Carter BBD Chinese clones without the stepper motor. I bought it since it was only $57 shipped. It will be on my shelf unless I need it, at which point I'd just go ahead and remove the emission components, do the Nutter bypass and put the carb on. I'd just hate to do it unless I really had to. There's no emissions where I live, just don't like hacking stuff up unless I have to.
About diesels, my neighbor was looking for a diesel Volkswagen Touareg. He took a trip to California and said he saved around $8,000 as nobody in California want's diesels, lol. Nothing wrong with diesels, if properly maintained they go forever! I'd love to have a diesel in the Jeep. I also think a Ford EcoBoost 2.3 four cylinder would be pretty cool!
just found this channel, pretty cool, i thought it wouldn't have a turbo
Glad you found us. Welcome.
THE ONLY THING I WOULD HAVE DONE AND HAVE DONE , WAS TO POWER WASH EACH OF THOSE BEFORE STARTING, BUT THATS MY PREFERENCE...............
I have no excuse. Should have.
Nice video and I like what you guys did with the project. HOWEVER, on the video is easy to notice that you guys spelled a lot of oil and during the cleaning of the old pan there was a lot of pollution done to the environment. So, I am giving you guys 3 stars even if the rest of the work deserves a 5 stars. Nevertheless, I am happy to see that you guys responsibly took care of the coolant. Take care and thank you...
Oh man. You wouldnt like working around kirk. Thanks for checkin in.
MB engines are sweet..
I love it. I hope you watch to see how it all went.
How much oil does it hold now
You should have had the engine stream cleaned before you started working on the engine
Keep watchin (-:
Look into undercoating The Jeep
That will be another video. Except the area i can get best with the engine out.
He hired a younger Steve Martin to do the swap
Kirk says to tell you. He makes steve martin look like a normal human. Ha
how's it running today
Great !
really cool conversion nice sound
that Benz motor sounds crisp
Brooke Woody its strong. Had some problems at this point in the build. A bit a blow by still. But nothing big. Theres 10 parts if you want to see it all (-;
OK thanks I will

Happy Sweden stuff (-:
