Thank you for reacting to this masterpiece! This video is pure art and it's nothing wrong here for people who can think deeper - only for narrow minds. Shia and Maddie are here two Sia's self states and the cage symbolizes Sia's mind. Shia is the adult, troubled by inner struggles, fears, limitations - he could leave the cage but his own limitations and fears tell him he can not. Maddie is the inner child, still free, innocent, energic, pure, who tries to save the adult from his own demons. But she can't, the adult will remain prisoner of his own mind. It's a inner fight that takes place in any of us, in fact, we all have two sides and we all want that our inner child to free us.

If you want to see and react to Sia's Chandelier live, Maddie Ziegler performs it with one of the professional dancers, Allison Holker on Dancing with the Stars. They killed that performance.
Sia also sung Elastic Hearts on DWTS as well. Derek and Julianne Hough(siblings) who are pro dancers on DWTS dancing while Sia sings and there's also two kids dancing alongside them as the younger version of them. This was also a good performance, but short.
For me it represents the child and adult in our selves and cage is our mind and you can see how the child in us is trying to free the adult..

The thing I was most struck and moved by in this video was the transition of Shia's face in that end shot. The way you can literally see him give up, his eyes gloss over in despair when he can't get out of the cage, no matter how she pulls at him. It's the perfect metaphor for mental illness, depression in particular, and/or addiction, which I believe was the intended subject matter.
