    Thank you for answering my paid question on yesterday's pod cast about my 05 4.0 4runner. I was asking about front dif lockers not rears. I already have a 4.7 and a rear axle being compactly rebuilt. I just can't find info on a front dif locker.

      Oh! If that is the case I would look into the ARB front lockers. I know a few people with later model Toyotas with these up front and they work fantastic!

    Are you planning on trussing the axle later? Or not doing it at all?

      Funny it was trussed, but it was tacked on slightly off. So it was getting in the way of the u-bolts. It is going to get put back on through!

    Do you have a video on the tube drive shafts you build? Working on doing a SAS on my 86 4runner and the forward drive shaft is the last thing to get ready before starting.

      3" Springs, with bottom 2 leafs removed.

      Hey, great content. I have the same 3" kit and I'm about to do the swap. Just wondering why you had to remove the bottom two leafs? And did you get the HD kit because of the v6? Thanks.

      @@Shiploadofshipes Nope, normal springs. My personal truck has 3" springs with bottom 2 leafs removed, and same with Cory with his 3" springs. All V6, all not HD springs, and all bottom leafs removed. Reason being is lowering the trucks a bit, and more articulation.

    As far as front hanger placement goes, basically you wanna mock it up so you achieve a certain angle for your rear shackles? What angle do you guys look for? I have a sky’s offroad stretch front hanger and not 100% sure how far forward the hanger should be. I’m putting it on a t100. Any help is appreciated! Mint job boys!

      it depends in the length of the leaf springs you plan on using!

      We put this one flush with the front, its also flush on my truck. Using the TG 3" leafs with 2 leafs removed it makes the shackle angle where we want it.

      It's perfect. With the leafs removed from the pack it sags a bit more right from the get go. Plus we are just placing hangers where the instructions say to. And the kit was designed for the TG leafs.

    you guys didn't move the steering box at all? ive been slowly working away at my solid axle swap, but I've sort of lost motivation to finish it lol... this vid has given me a little boost so maybe ill go and do some work on it today or the weekend :)

      Totally not necessary. I'm the only one in my crew who moved the box, and that is only because my leaf spring hangers are cut into the frame, and running 4" shackles, causing my steering to bind.

      @@DirtGarage ok nice. Yeah ive moved my steering box forward a bit and flattened out the angle they put them on. I also have a flat pitman arm so it doesn't drop it too low. I have done the same and recessed the spring hanger in to the frame to lower it a little bit and moved it forward a little to give more tire clearance in the fenders...

    Have you ever thought about doing a linked coil sprung solid axle project. I know the cost would be more but would be interested to get your opinion on pros and cons.

    Awesome channel. Do you have any experience with 22RE EGR deletes? I’ve got multiple vacuum leaks on my 89 pickup, and am trying to decide on replacing my vacuum lines, or just scrapping the EGR.

      @@nicholas5623 Thats what I ultimately did. Tried to fix it at first, but ultimately had to scrap the whole thing. I'm guessing it affects my MPG but I'm not for sure. I only get about 14MPG going 75 on highway.

    Can I use my gears from my independent front end in my new straight axle, 93 4 runner?

      Nope. Independent is 7.5", solid axle is 8". You can find another truck with same ratio and use the rear up front.

    Hey man im doing this same swap but i axle sit really far forward in the fender well is this normal my shackle angle is alittle back from center

      The SAS should push your axle forward. This is for better approach angles.

      That's the plan! Waiting for price of lumber to drop though, I have to re-enforce some of the trusses. I'm pretty sure that wall is structural at this moment.

      @user-oq6yl4nj6z You can't use original. It is not long enough, and it doesn't have enough articulation.

    I have curiosity, what year is the solid axle you swap?
    Am concerned because as i notice on my v6 year 89 i noticed that it's wider than my 22R year 82.
    So if the toyota year 82 solid axle is not the same wide as the 89 what yo did to have the same width?

      82, and yes the axle is narrower stock, most guys use spacers on front to make up for that. I also have a guide to use your stock IFS hubs and bolting them up to the solid axles to make them wider to match the rear. czcams.com/video/BqVK27IV14g/video.html&t

      Yes, and nobody likes them and removes a bunch of leafs to make it ride better. My truck is supercharged 5VZ, with bush bumper and winch. AND I removed leafs, it rides great!

    I SAS'd my 87 pickup with the TG 3" kit and I already had the old man emu rear springs in AND I added 4" blocks to level up the rear.
    What did you replace your 4" blocks with?
    You said you took those ones out of your truck?
    I'm assuming you did the Chevy 63"?
    Did that level you out completely or did you need to add blocks to that too?
    Was it worth it?

      Originally I was running stocks with those 4" blocks, later I went to OME and 2" blocks, now I run 63s with no blocks. We remove leafs from the TG 3" to keep it lower.

      Any disadvantage to running it the way I have mine set up?
      I'm swapping in an om617 right now and I kind of want to keep all the leafs up front in the TG 3" kit to prevent sagging later on.
      The only thing that worries me about the 4" blocks in the rear is axle wrap, what you think?

      @@matthewevers6716 4" blocks give terrible axle wrap. But totally up to you. I would not keep the 4" blocks if your planning on putting more power in the rig.

      На этом пикапе не нужно потому что там подвеска стаяла не мост там уже перенесен стоит как надо ,а вот на мостовом надо менять его ставить от 130 сурфака и переваривать крепление)

      If your looking for details I would suggest looking up a video for "How To Solid Axle Swap" 👍
      As for the blocks you'd be happy to hear they where only temporary, and have since been switched out for Chevy 63s.
