Rasir Bolton is a sharpshooter. He's only going to improve as the season continues. Also, Zags schedule is more difficult than usual, which will only sharpen them up for the Tourney. I love this Zags team.

the SEC is actually getting better and better in basketball every year. UK would normally take care of about all the SEC matchups except maybe one or two games….recently everyone has been creeping up on them and they’ve been losing about 3 to 5 SEC games every year since about 2018. Arkansas, Alabama, Auburn, Texas A&M, basically everyone from the SEC west of football is coming to life more and more and getting tourney tickets punched more often
NIL/portal will be a huge part of this in the future
I believe that the SEC has been investing more in their football players than their men's basketball players. Just as I have noticed more in the past 10 years.

I love Basketball. That being said I can appreciate a Good Game. My heart is with The Cincinnati Bearcats, UK Wildcats and UCLA Bruins. The UK Wildcats are very Good. Lots of Talent. Hopefully they'll play well both as a team and excel. Gonzaga is a well oiled Machine. Timme takes the ball to the Basket and he's hard to stop, he take it inside and outside. The closest to Larry Birds and Dave Cowens (I know both Celtics Centers Coincidence) style of play! Michigan State is also going to be a Contender. They will be in the top 10 if not top 5 very soon. For some reason Kentucky was a little cold from outside the first half. That's just nerves in front of the Home Crowd. They're going to have to learn how to control their Emotions little bit more. I suggest Coach Cal recommend some Meditation or Tai Chi or Martial Art Breathing Techniques. It's not easy to calm down and sometimes a little bit of Mind over Matters can help. I'm sure Coach has told them to Settle Down and Relax. He's one of the Best. If anyone can get these guys to play up to their full potential, Coach Cal can. Great Game. Kentucky should be OK. These Young Athletes will learn how to Win as a Team.

Trust me i've followed the zags for 25 years. This team will struggle without having a proven pt guard this year. Hickman is not ready! last 3 games the turnovers have been 18,20, and 18. Way too many turnovers going foward. They rebound well enough this year. The free throws aren't an issue. They have one lineup where watson and sallis on the floor provides defense and rebounding, but offensive limitations. Nolan hickman's play has to improve and so does reids bench contribution. Anyway a win is a win.
Yes. They lack a real point guard. They have traditionally struggled against teams with real good guards. Sweet sixteen will be the ceiling for this team. An honest Zag fan here.

Kentucky has Only one weapon once that weapon is contained Kentucky fails to produce. History shows if you only have one great player with an average team you will lose against 3 good players and the rest of the team is average.
Coach Cal must invest more time with the rest of the other guys if he ever wants to start producing wins this year.

I was at the game. And I am a big Gonzaga fan. I was happy they won. However, based on the eye test. It appeared they played a near perfect game. Yet, Kentucky got within a couple baskets. I could see that Kentucky was not on their best game. I'm concerned the zags don't have a true point guard. I finally realized why they haven't impressed me before this game.
It's because most of their baskets are coming from broken plays. Whereas last year, they scored more often on set plays. Lots of successful picks, and cutting, etc.
Many more easy baskets last year.
It also appears teams are better prepared to slow the zags down
By not letting them control the pace of play. I hope Mark Few makes the adjustments very soon. Lots of tough games coming soon.
Gonzagas style of game takes an excellent point guard to thrive.
This is the first year in quite awhile, where they don't have that person.
I'd argue that Gonzaga played no where near perfect with almost 20 turnovers.
@@luisprieto4390 honestly, it didn't feel that way. It just seemed like they were totally zoned in to be strong with the ball. I would credit a lot of those turnovers to Kentucky's defense. And a lot of those turnovers were trying to speed up the pace of the game. Which is expected, when you are intent on controlling the game at your pace.
I'm looking forward to watching it at home. Maybe I'll see it differently.
Either way, it was quite a game. It had the atmosphere of a late round tournament game. I expect to see Kentucky in at least, the elite 8. They actually impressed me more than Texas. Lots of parity in the top 20 this year.
@@user-cy3kb2vn8s aside from Wallace, Texas impressed mW more although I this k they had an anomaly shooting night. I think that you felt that way due to the atmosphere and through fact that Gonzaga shot the ball very well in the first half. There is still tons to improve for Gonzaga IMO.
