Mahomes has been a game manager all year - obviously so. Which has been the funniest backdrop to Nick's takes on Purdy.
Is the Neanderthal in the Geico commercial Nicks's twin brother?
Niners/chiefs is going to boil down to niners o-line vs chiefs d-line. I doubt I'm the only one who thinks the chiefs are going to win, but I think that's the real battle, not Mahomes vs. Purdy.
Nick: "we don't have to talk about Caleb Williams" Translation: "never take my logic and apply it elsewhere, because it isn't logic. It's feelz."
Brou's pantomime of Jimmy G handing the ball off was hilarious.
Purdy is 0-152 in hypothetical situations
If he played for any other team - like the Vikings or the Dolphins - he could not win a single game. Mahomes is very limited and is not a decent quarterback.

The Jimmy G comparison is ridiculous. Jimmy G was in his 6th year in the NFL, Purdy in his 2nd. Purdy's first full year as a starter he has surpassed Jimmy G's best stats in every category and led the league in multiple categories. Kyle Shannahan never came from behind in past playoff games. Purdy comes in and they go 2-0. Zero reason to compare them.
CMC will do that for you
Good take
Cool story. He’s still middle of the pack as a QB. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Trevor, Rodgers, Herbert, and Stroud are all more talented and just better. He’s still going to lose to the chiefs in the SB. Just as Jimmy Gags did with the same coach and the same offensive game plan 😂
@@treysegrist8890but cmon he deserves credit, yes he has weapons, but that’s the best way to build around a young qb and then when it’s time for him to be paid hopefully he will have improved to compensate for that.

@CaNtHoNY127 Well if you paid enough attention, you would have heard him say, he reminds him of Drew Brees. Lebron reminded a lot of people of Magic, yet somehow here we are 20+ years later and some believe he surpassed Magic and some believe he surpassed everybody (which is blasphemous, but that's a topic for another day). Or Josh Allen
Niners fan here. Stylewise, Mahomes doesn't remind me of Brady at all, other than the winning. He seems to me unique: the most naturally talented QB the league has ever seen. He does things that all of the greats in the past have done, but he can and does do more - more than Brady, Montana, all of them. Stylewise, Purdy seems much more a traditional, in the pocket pass first QB, like Brady, Montana and Brees - tho perhaps more agile and mobile. Purdy seems to have the intangibles like Mahomes and all elite QBs - quick processing, anticipation, mental fortitude, pocket poise, improvisation, etc. Football is a much more team-centered sport than other ones, so Mahomes can't win games by himself. Well coached opposition with talented players will always be in the mix.
Mahomes is Rodgers with Bradys heart😊
Agree
Rodgers ability with Brady mind
I think Rodgers still has that crown. Ofc Mahomes is far better in the clutch.
The most naturally talented QB the league has ever seen is Steve Young. With the rule changes in the NFL, modern QB's don't have to worry about getting their head ripped off. If Young was the current QB of the Niners they would win this Title and many more. i suspect you are a recent Niners fan.

I’d love to hate on purdy but everytime I try to come up with a reason to invalidate his stats it’s “he has good players to throw the ball too” how is that his fault. As a chiefs fan I’m looking forward to see what Purdy can do against the amazing chiefs defense
This will be one of the biggest tests he will have seen in his young career. Not because it is the Super Bowl, but because those CB's are STUDS. He is going to have to throw perfect passes to get completions against those guys. Baltimore D is great but if you go back and watch the film, Purdy was doing very well vs their back end (outside of that 1 bad int in the end zone). Cleveland game was in the rain, which he has had a couple of bad games in. If the DB's clamp down on the receivers, Purdy will have to find another way to stretch the field.

@@byronsmith3152 Shanahan will Scheme it for Purdy with quick passes to his playmakers and a heavy dose of CMAC.
Honestly all the chiefs have to do is constantly bring pressure, the 9ers oline outside of Williams, is Swiss cheese. Purdy is good but the teams that brought pressure, beat us.
He'll do the same thing he did in the first half of last game. Except it won't get better in the second half with a helmet bounce godsend for 50 unearned yards and a first down. Instead it will be a pick 6 for the dagger
First things first...don't say "49ers legend" say "NFL legend" Joe Montana
if you want to consistently win its best to have an offense that is repeatable and reliable and doesnt require anything spectacular to perform well.
The crazy thing is that this is exactly what people were trying to discredit Purdy with early in the season - he dished out consistent, safe plays without trying to play hero ball by forcing deep shots and then pundits went yadda yadda doesn't have an arm, checkdown merchant, Purdy can't take risks when behind etc. The ignorant will always change the narrative to suit their own fairy tale
Basically the Ravens all season till they scored 10 points on Sunday 😅
Mahomes is the yac king. He has more yac than Purdy despite having less yards than Purdy. Weird how Nick doesnt discredit Mahomes over yac. Nick is far form consistent...
Nick mentioned he is a man of ideas. simple language is he is lazy.
and this is what makes them both great. Getting YAC means leading your receiver into a catchwhere he has either space or leverage. Not all QBs can do it. If you are wrong, you can get someone hurt. Lance was especially dangerous.
Nick “what if this season is Purdy’s ceiling?” You mean leading the league in rating and qbr, top 3 in TD, and yards? 2+ playoff wins each year?
Yeah I’ll take that for 15 years nick.
Too funny. Dude is not even 2 full seasons into his NFL career. "is this his ceiling?" Nick is stressed because it's his floor, and his foundation.
I am one of Purdy’s most ardent supporters, and I will both rank him and project him. He is currently a Top 5 QB in the league, he can push it to Top 2 or 3 with a SB win, and his absolute ceiling is Tom Brady, who came out of the draft rated almost as poorly as Purdy, was a physically inferior scrambler, and grew into “the GOAT” over the course of 20 seasons, but if you’d asked that question in 2002 I guarantee no one would have said “he’ll win 6 more Super Bowls he’s so good.”
Brou is NOT one of Purdy’s most ardent supporters, he just tries to be fair to Brock when Nick goes on one of his hate rants.
Nick is hardest on the greatest threats to his precious Mahomes. Which is why he's hardest on Purdy and Allen, but not so much on Lamar. It's basically psyops.
Brady was alot taller and bigger. It adds durability and helps when you get older. I think the ceiling for Purdy is a Brees style career with more mobility and maybe more SBs
Not even close to Brady, let him accomplish something atleast 😂😂
@@CharlieBam Perfectly fair assessment. We’re not required to agree. Others might say he plays similar to Montana, so that’s his ceiling. Nick only asks Brou to do it because Brou doesn’t like ranking people that way.
@@slicks1175 His CEILING is Brady. Meaning given the right circumstances and luck, he could get that good. It does not mean he will or that I think they’re in any way equivalent right now. This is the slight of hand people like you and Nick use to say “YoU ThINk PUrdY iS tHE GReaTeSt In HiSToRy!”
Why can't you just say, "They signed Pacheco and that's why they're different, too."

It is beyond hilarious that Nick gets his feathers ruffled over Bru comparing Purdy to Drew Brees then immediately says Caleb Williams has goat potential. Either Nick has no self awareness whatsoever or he knows hes a clown and feeds into it. Theres no other option.
you missed the point of that whole discussion then. the point is Brou won't commit to saying he thinks a guy is/will be *great*, despite constantly comparing him to great players in history. when Nick says he thinks Caleb could be Mahomes 2.0, it's because he actually believes caleb will be great, and he's standing on that. and all he's asking others to do is really commit to the take and stand on it when they say Purdy is "like Montana" or "like Brees" or "like Brady" if you wanna make that comparison, then commit to the take

Im going around trying to get respectful debates going. Yes Purdy has been a top 5 QB during the regular season, so was Dak for that matter they both looked amazing. @@adrianpheiffer9960 in my hypothetical I should’ve stated that their all getting paid the exact same. Brock’s a top ten QB.
Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Stroud, Rodgers, Stafford are 100% ahead of him in most hypothetical drafts, but everything else is debatable. I’d def take him over Goff, Dak, Baker, and Kirk
I'm pretty sure Rodgers wouldn't be taken ahead of him in most redrafts. Especially coming off that injury, there's at least a 30% chance that he comes back and is just bad, and another 20-30% that he's only the 12-16th best qb
Stroud is debatable too...
@@be4st856 I wouldn't debate stroud, he walked into one of the worst situations in football, had a rookie head coach, went and balled out and led them to the playoffs and even got a playoff win.
Houston wasn't as bad a situation as people make it out to be. Only a few years ago they were a playoff team consistently with Watson. They just needed a QB and Davis Mills was terrible. Even though the organization itself is cooky crazy, it wasn't that bad.
@NCMonefaith Watson was throwing the whole team on his back in that case too though, there was limited talent around him (especially after trading away hopkins) and he had to be phenomenal just for them to make the playoffs
Stroud took a bunch of unknowns on offense and demeco transformed that defense (only so much though because they're lacking true talent on the defense rn) and took them from what many expected to be a bottom 5 team yo winning a playoff game and their division

Puka was in a great spot in LA with Stafford for sure but NO ONE anticipated this kind of rookie season from him, otherwise he wouldn’t have been a fifth round pick. Rashee Rice was the saving grace for the Chiefs this year because he’s proven to be their best WR as a rookie and looks promising for the future. well also, to be fair, give Mahomes Aiyuk and Deebo and CMC then see what happens lol
it's that the Chiefs made an organizational philosophical shift to move Tyreek instead of giving him a record breaking contract, and use that capital on building a fast young elite defense so Mahomes wouldn't need 30 pts to win every week
not many teams can pull off what the 49ers have built roster wise since not many teams can pay league minimum salary for top 5 QB production lol

Purdy has actually CARRIED the team, especially in the playoffs. this 49ers run looks alot like the Chiefs run in 2019. Missing Omenihu could be a BIG problem against a QB that can move like Purdy
mahomes has always been a game manager. he was 13-19 in 3 years at texas tech. then he lucked onto a team with the best offensive coach in nfl history, the best recieving TE in nfl history and the fastest reciever in football.
people talk like mahomes made the chiefs great. the chiefs were 11-5, 12-4, 10-6 the 3 years before mahomes. they were already great. when reid and kelce retire i think people will start to see how ordinary he is.
@@mattcarberry368all those great players have a less than average yards per separation. Purdy's yards after catch per completion is second in the league; Mahomes is first.
Purdy is simply playing the quarterback position at an elite level. All other opinions are cope.
@@oozieneinmillimeedait’s the playoffs, of course the defense won’t look as good
You either believe Brock Purdy is the QB he's been since taking over the job last year or you do not. You can't look at his play, his record, his comebacks I'm consecutive playoff games, his 4 and 0 record in the playoffs that has brought SF to the SB, and say he doesn't seem like he could be a top 15 QB all time. Compare Brocks what 24 regular season games and 4 playoff games (started and finished) to the first 24 of your top 15. He crushes everyone over that span. Peyton Manning is in most people's top 5, he threw over 20 picks his rookie season. How can Brock Purdy's ceiling be lower than former players who have not out performed him at this stage in their careers? Everyone but Brady.
Top 15 all time, hes not even top 15 in the league rn. Lay off the pipe!
This is a legitimately insane take that only a goldfish or somebody with memory issues would advocate for.
@@williamosceola5056 That is a statement that can be applied to any comment, it fails to point out any conflict with fact or reason. Compare Peyton's first 24 games to Purdy's, and Purdy has out performed him. It's reasonable to believe that Purdy's ceiling could exceed Peyton Manning. That's what that means.
If a sprinter was faster than Usain Bolt over his first 20 races, it doesn't mean he will be faster than Bolt, but it definitely shows the potential is there.
@@orionsimerl6539at the same time, you could correctly point out that almost none of the top 15 qbs of all time walked into a team built like Purdy has.
Most of those guys went to teams that were drafting high because before they got there the teams were just plain bad, and it took a few seasons to build around those guys and give them the help they need because it's still a team sport.
You can't blame Purdy for walking into a fantastic situation, but you can realize that it is a fact and also realize that we won't really know how good Purdy is until he isn't completely surrounded by some of the best players in the league at their positions.
@@jasperegan3625 Tom.Brady also walked into a great situation, so did Maholmes, so did Peyton, Favre, Steve Young, Rodgers started his first year with a team that Favre took to the NFC Championship that lost in OT the year before. A great situation doesn't change the fact that Purdy has had historical individual performances. A mediocre QB does not do the things Purdy has done regardless of the talent he has around him. Phillip Rivers had Ladanian Tomilson, much better that CMC, Gates was a better receiving TE than Little, Vincent Jackson is better Ayuk, and also had Darren Sproles.
It doesn't matter, because the argument is it is reasonable to believe that Purdy's ceiling is higher than those who he has out performed to this point in their careers. It makes sense that because he's been better to this point that he could continue to be better.
13:53 Pause Wildes an Brou know that 😂😂😂
Nick over here moving the goalposts LOL
Nick has Herbert catching strays for no reason. I can’t wait for next season. Herbert’s 1st season with a legit coach is gonna be nuts
brou: "I'm saying he's like drew brees"
also brou: "how DARE you say I said he's like drew brees!"
Nick Wright looks like the bad guy from Hacker's.... you'll never unsee it
I say Dothraki blood rider but to each his own
“Brock Party… Burt Purdy” Bru lmaooo😭🤣
Nick's evaluation of Purdy has some valid points, until he put Purdy after Dak, Tua, Goff, Cousins and sort. He may be not as talented as Mahomes, Allen and Lamar, but I would definitely choose Purdy before those others who could not win in playoffs.
Purdy is right around Goff imo, a bit higher than nicks rank (14-18) I'd have him in the 8-12 range
Mahomes, Allen, lamar, burrow, herbert, Goff, stroud are the ones I'd definitely put above him (herbert is on a short leash now though, especially since he's finally got a legit coach)
Jordan love, Jalen hurts and Stafford can all be argued but I think he fits somewhere in that grouping pretty well
@@jasperegan3625 Mostly agreed, but I won't put Goff above Purdy or Stafford. Goff doesn't perform well under pressure and his mobility is always an issue.
@xuguangyu88 I'm just giving Goff the benefit of the doubt for quarterbacking two different teams to the nfccg and making the superbowl with one.
To me Goff and Purdy are basically the most interchangeable where if someone had Purdy right ahead of Goff or vice versa I'd completely understand
I'd put him behind Mahomes. Lamar and Allen have far better O-lines. (Edit) *because everyone forgets the 49ers O-line is ranked 22nd. Trent Williams can't be you're whole O-line.
@pitchforksdragon1252 they may have better o-lines, but Purdy by has the best skill position players around him by a mile
Brock reminds me more like Jeff Garcia, still a good qb
lmfao best show going right now... never change
Like it or not, QBs are largely evaluated on wins and losses, and the degree to which they elevate their team. Purdy not only is 4-0 in playoffs game in which he played the entire game, but also converted a mediocre SF pass offense into a league-leading pass offense. And don't say, "But look at all the talent around him", when Jimmy and Lance had the same surrounding players but could not produce an effective pass offense.
Nick wants us to not project what a year 2 QB will be in the future but will project Caleb can be better than Mahomes
How is this not clicking for Nick? Bru agreed with Nicks current rankings of Purdy but says he can be Drew Brees. If that’s a problem, Nick has to commit that Caleb will be better than Mahomes bc he’s not rn. ‘And just like Herbert’, Caleb may not improve
Nick is right about Brou. But not about Purdy. Which is hilarious.
Purdy is top ten: I’m taking Burrow, Mahomes, Josh Allen, Rodgers, Lamar, AND maybe Stroud and Hurts over him. Maybe Herbert if he has a monster year next year.
And what if Purdy beats Mahomes in the SB? He will be the ONLY one on your list that has a SB win over Mahomes, the BEST by far right now.
I agree mostly but I’d throw Stafford into the names you said. At worst, for me 10th behind those guys. Don’t bring up Dak, Goff, Cousins, Love or Lawerence up. He’s proven to be better than those guys, to me.
@@Joes35 Love was largely outperforming him with much less talent for most of that playoff game. Purdy can't play in bad weather. Which will come back to bite him eventually.
@@jca7343except Love's ridiculous picks, and nearly overthrowing that wide open TD, while Purdy was clutch on game winning drive. Purdy > Love, old Rodgers, no clutch Herbert, Dak, overrated Lamar, declining Hurts, and if Burrow keeps staying hurt him too.
Nice one Chris! The Ferrari needs an open road. It is not a Jeep. Right now, the Chiefs are an off roader and we love camping ⛺️.
Thank you 95 and the boys.
11:55 Wildes laugh 😂😂😂
Mahomes did not “manage the game” in the 2nd half. How absurd. He was shut out. No points for 40 mins in a close game is terrible play
Mahomes is the one guy who can not score and the bobble heads will still say in unison that he played well
Feels like everybody is amping up the Chiefs for the betting markets. Which means 49ers win
No, the 49ers are 2 point favorites.
Zay flowers and coaching cost the game and Lamar not running
New dynasty begins in 2 weeks 49ers
I love this show 😂
Wiles likes, I can’t believe I get paid for this. 😂😂😂😂
Best sports show
49ers winning it all. Never a doubt.
They were so sure when they were up on the chiefs in the 4th qtr of the first Mahomes sb ring. The niners thought they were going to win. Never a doubt 😂
@@slimischillin7753 different this year. Chiefs were the never say die team then, and the 49ers are that team now. Missing Omenihu is a BIG loss that isn’t being discussed enough
@@oozieneinmillimeeda they missed him the first 6 weeks and did fine. That actually sounds like wishful thinking. Also, the chiefs have the hearts of champions. They’re still “never say die”. They play all 4 qtrs as a team.
This conversation reminds me of Nick Foles
Nick mightve had the best line I've heard him say... the chiefs this year are the bizzaro bills. All the accomplishments none of the belief. Good point.
I totally agree with Chris... Brock is a mobile Drew Brees. Good comp.
I like how nobody EVER talks about Jimmy G beating Breese in a shootout in the dome.😊
I work in HR Nick and I too am an ideas man lol
We need a I time only segment the Chris alps . Rank those qbs !
Love nick explaining why he loves mahomes as a game manager now
This show should be the number one rated thing in television.
I'm a niner fan and hate the purdy bashing from nick but this show is so entertaining! No hate towards nick. They make this show fun!
Best sports talk show 😂
Why don’t we get to see the plays they show? :(
Lmaoo this show is so funny that it doesn’t even make sense at times 😂
Hahah Nick saying the Chiefs are the bizarro Bills is really funny and really intelligent.
Chiefs defense is the perfect matchup for CMC and Deebo.
Nick is banking on the "I TOLD YOU SO!!!" moment and Nick will continue to move the goal post until he gets it.
He has Skip Bayless syndrome...always right, even when he's wrong.
