To be clear, Crimson didn't make Moxxie kill his mom, that was a different person, and a man, and tail was different. His dad killed her before that, like when she wasn't there to cut his steak that second time because she was dead
The person Crimson killed had white and black horns too, so it was most likely a man

It seemed like his mom, she left them and slapped crim then eventually he caught her and made moxie kill her
This could be explained by the lighting, making it look like diffeeent colours, as well as dressing her different and cutting her hair so moxxie wouldn’t know it’s her.
Plus, it would be very spiteful for him to kill her using moxxie, which I’m pretty sure he would do.
His mom didn’t want moxxie to be forced and manipulated into killing, so she had to watch as moxxie being the one to kill her.
Vocals also don’t sound specifically main of female depending on gagging with addition to the sack.

So many people think that Moxxie was forced to kill his own mother, but if you rewatch the scene, it's clearly a male imp with horns cut/shaved down.
Tail had different patterns, too. The imp Moxxie was forced to drown had a striped tail, while his mom had three spots on the tip of her tail.
