- Note: This kit has been discontinued and is no longer available. It wasn’t a problem with the quality as that kit is still the bench mark for RS4 superchargers but a result of budget cuts during some of the restricting that occurred at APR.
The Futrell Autowerks Team takes you through the installation of APR's Stage III Supercharger kit and FSI Carbon Clean on a 2007 Audi RS4. Actual installation time with carbon clean was about 25 hours. APR's engineering and design team hit a home run out of the park with this kit, the installation went off without a hitch and the power delivery is ultra smooth and blistering fast. Kit price $14,999, Installation is $2999 which includes before/after dyno testing and a twelve month/12,000 mile parts and labor warranty. Carbon build up issue is due to the PCV system in combination with FSI fuel delivery since fuel doesn't wash the valves.
Audi RS4..Such a fantastic car..Plus the APR supercharger..you touch the moon..

yeah, the APR tune runs a little bit rich at the top end for safety. I've seen stock BMW M5/6 V10 cars do the same thing.

FUTRELL: Did you perform or even recommend a carbon cleaning? Lot's of buildup.
ZackAttackLV It looks like they are comparing the one intake port that they cleaned with the other one that they hadn't cleaned yet.
Looks like its putting out a lot of smoke. Is that normal?
When they are working on the throttle body I hear, "Eh it might work, its not perfect." No thanks.

did you upgrade fuel pumps as well? if not i assume gains from that supercharger are very small

@Jeroen Usually adds 50hp? 100 minimum bud come on. And thats before it's fine tuned to that particular engine.

Seconds you find people who can do that... If you pay attention you will see that the supercharger need his intercooler system... And they fixed the intercooler by their own knowledge... Despite Apr is certified as the official tunning team of Audi, The constructor does not always help for those modifications...

We cleaned the valves before installing.

More like discontinued kit. Still heavily requested to this day. 1320 kit tuning was one of the best.

180. stock is 420. with the carbon buildup it will be less

Markus Wellington I have a 2008 with the same kit, APR doesn’t make them anymore but I bought one of the last 3 they had on sale for $14K and it was about $17 installed. Scott at Auto Motion in Louisville KY is a master with RS4s bruh.

20k car 20k supercharger 40k just to get to 600bhp no thank you I’d rather just have a well sorted rs4 for 20k and keep the other 20k to run it
So true. Especially if the DRC is kept. Mines been sitting since October because it needs 5k worth of work for front shocks and aux radiator.

Put down 450 at the wheels post charger. It’s since been removed and the car was sold sans the charger (which went on another local RS4. This video is quite a few years old.

Why do I never see mechanics/techs properly torquing wheel bolts to the correct factory spec. They always just torque the crap out of it with air wrenches, and makes it really difficult to get them off with just a breaker bar
That blue rod that he attached to the impact wrench limits the amount of torque applied to each lugnut by absorbing the extra torque above what they want to apply to each wheel. It's an old school technology, but it's sure faster than pulling out the torque wrench for 20 lugnuts

such a pitty these engines suffer so much from carbon build up! direct FI sucks! should include an extra injector as direct port to keep it clean.
Top side injectors would help but we’ve had the intakes off on a couple RS3s recently (have top side injectors) and build up was already forming. It’s just the nature of the technology. A 35k service (70K for forced induction) for the fuel economy and performance benefits isn’t a bad compromise.
That is how they do it for the new 5 cyl 07K.

That system was 450 wheel HP. There’s a dyno video as well (before and after)
