Interesting comparison. Sounds like the higher abv gives more wood interaction increasing the vanilla and caramel notes - which would make sense. Too bad it is a chore to get through. I know all about picking to many of those kind of bottles😅

I do like the Original Bushmills, and I have NOT ever tried the Prohibition Recipe.
