This is why I’m having such an issue.
I’ve torn apart my apartment and can’t find any nests anywhere. Not behind the fridge, cabinets, couches, TVs, dressers, etc but keep seeing them at night and sometimes during the day.
They are coming in from downstairs. I can’t get close to the nest because the nest isn’t here and we use a lot of insecticides along with natural means like diatomaceous earth and clove oil to keep them from setting up a residence here and are always moving furniture to apply it.
We’ve tried bait but it goes untouched because they have all the food they can eat from downstairs. They just come up here for funsies I guess, idk. I really want to try that one bait that decimates them, advion I think, but I don’t think it will help because they weren’t interested in any other bait.
Idk what to do. The landlord is supposed to be tearing the downstairs apartment out when the tenant leaves and redo the entire basement apartment but I’m afraid they will rush up to our apartment when that happens or that it won’t happen for a long time.
The first year and a half I lived here, we would see one roach every few weeks or months from another apartment but then see no more but then the current tenant moved in and we are getting swarmed. There are so many holes in the crease where our walls meet the floor and where the walls meet the ceiling that it’s impossible to seal them all. The building is old and is settling weird.
It sucks but if we move we are going to have to pay like 1k more a month. We can’t do that.
Happened to me before, ended up just moving. I would see maybe a roach every other day but they wouldn’t even touch the advion I have bought. Previous tenant was nasty but also neighbors were nasty. There was roach poop left over inside the water heater room all over the place that wasn’t cleaned up… (I rented sight unseen since I was from out of town moving). I kept my place spotless but still would see a roach here and there which was annoying.
It's the landlord's responsibility to keep the residence pest free.
Please call a professional pest control company, maybe make an arrangement with the landlord to do the whole building.
I always say pea size drop. Away from foods and and areas that people can come into contact with it while reaching in to grab stuff. Baiting is a great technique that if you do long enough you can become a Master.
Yeah I use advion. It's a little bit more expensive but it works really really well.
@@bloopereel33 I’m into Vendetta Plus now for the extra IGR Ingredient. Works great in heavy infestations which is mostly what I deal with.

I used Optiguard and was a 1930s German about cleanliness when I moved into the inlaws house. They had a massive infestation. Didn't tell me and my husband before we moved in. I guess they thought he was used to it from prior living with them and that I would be okay with it.
Nope. Tried Advion and it kind of worked, but they kept leaving dishes out and dropping food on the floor and not cleaning it.
I'm disabled. Takes a lot out of me to keep it clean.
Tried Advion a second time and it did nothing.
Then I found Optiguard and was very mean about things. I was calling names and reminding the MIL about how she lost a house to a level 5 hoard.
Vendetta plus comes with IGR Nyguard to me. That's the best bait for roaches.

Keep your kitchen as clean as possible in order to not have cockroaches in the first place 👍🏽
How painful is it to clean up after?
