    A few updated thoughts, thanks to feedback from comments!
    .
    *The Grid:* According to Tron Legacy, the Grid we see in the movie (as well as DDD) is actually an updated system by Flynn, CLU, and Tron. I'm assuming the original system is the Space Paranoids from the first movie (which is still different from Radiant Garden's space paranoids). If DDD's The Grid is an updated version of the original system from the 1st movie, then that does make consistent sense between what Xemnas says in DDD, and what Tron says in KH2. I was also informed that while Sora may have been in the real world, it's still probably that Riku himself was inside Sora's dreams, and thus still in Sora's dreams of The Grid. And that would actually make more sense of the Commantis that Riku alone fights.
    .
    *Reality Shift in KH3:* Another hint that Sora and Riku may still be unchained even in KH3 is the use of Nightmare's End and Mirage Split to create the rainbow Keyblade against the Demon Tower when saving Aqua. "Reality Shift" I'm assuming in DDD is a play on the idea that dreams are just that-- dreams where reality can be bent and twisted. So the idea they still have a power like this in real world may be because they're Unchained.
    .
    *Heartless projections:* It has now finally been confirmed in Kingdom Hearts Dark Road that the Heartless that appear before Apprentice Xehanort's experiments in Hollow Bastion are in fact projections from the Book of Prophecies.

It's safe to assume Heartless exist in the Dark Realm naturally, so Zero Point and 0.2 are real heartless hours, but those Neoshadows are the only Heartless in the Realm of Light in the main games chronologically.

      This last point brings up something interesting to me. I was going to argue that the Heartless appear not just in projected worlds but in Daybreak Town as well. But that's not JUST the Heartless. This DOES hold up because OTHR projections show up there as well- Donald, Goofy, and Mickey, in the Gummi ship. If I remember right, these were also projections from the book.
      This brings something to mind. How REAL are these projections of the future? Is Data Daybreak Town a construct ALSO created by the Book and just digitized. That wouldnt be the FIRST time a book has been digitized to be projected in this canon, right?

      It would be a very simple mistake on his part as well. Assuming he had data on the destruction of Radiant Garden, it's logical for him to assume that his user: Ansem/Apprentice Xehanort, destroyed the world from which the Grid was copied from.

      The Grid itself is data found on a computer that exist in Sam Flynn's world, which would be the world that is actually asleep, Data cannot be put to "'sleep" as YX established, but the Grid is still attached to SF's world, in the same way Space Paranoids is attached to Hollow Bastion.
      But yes, The Grid is real but is still in the Realm of Sleep because the world that Sam and his father reside from, fell to darkness, so they're possibly real too and not dreamed up versions.

      My belief is that The Grid as depicted in KH3D is generated by the dream of the world in which the ENCOM database existed, while the actual version of The Grid was created BETWEEN Ansem The Wise copying the data to create Space Paranoids and the Tron world being lost during Xehanort's rampage just prior to the events of KH1.
      Only if they ever send us back to the Tron world will we see the "real" version of The Grid as defined in the KH series.

  • @motionisdead9796
    @motionisdead9796 Před 4 lety +62

    This theory has a huge potential to explain the secrets of the Keyblades, and the World of KH in general.
    With the evidence provided by the Secret Reports, I believe that to be "Unchained" means to be unrestricted by the reality, you know un-chained(therefore making every Keyblade wielder already Unchained, yet conditioned to use the powers based on the rules of the World, as well as the magnitude of their belief in that power i.e the strength of their hearts). And that's a possibility, if, and only if, dreams are involved. After all, the interesting thing about dreams is that people don't believe they are real. It's silly, because you can't say that something is real, if you can't materialize it. Yet, dreams are already a part that we can't control, an a part of this World that we're experiencing frequently. They are undoubtly true, therefore they are real.
    There are clues all over in regards to dreams being responsible for the fantasy of KH. Just looking at the first one, that is Sora's quote at the beginning of KH1.
    "I've been having this weird thoughts lately, like...is any of this for real, or not?" is sort of implying that Sora doubts the existence of the fantastical things that are happening to him. It's unreal, as he doesn't truly believe in what he's experiencing, and it goes directly against what he's used to. No magical keys. No blocky space ship. No talking ducks.
    I'm not sure, if the quote in the opening sequence of KH1 is chronologically at the beginning, or if it's something that sums up Sora's experiences after he got the Keyblade. It's important to note, because of the whole notion of precognition dreams. To that, I digress, at least for now.
    Back to the topic. What breaks' Sora's perception of the World is Station of Awakening. A place now known to be situated close to the Final World, which lies "where the edges of sleep and death touch." It specifically states "awakening" and is known to be accompanied by Destati, which means "awaken" as well. A call for breaking the shackles of reality, a call to accepting the World previously thought to be fantasy. Thanks to awakening, Sora is granted the potential to use the fantasy, in a form of a Keyblade. It is not up until he snatched it from Riku, that he fully gets the benefit of it.
    Could also argue, if the fact that Sora got the Keyblade, and later lost it, is due to the fact that Sora was baffled the entire time, and didn't really believe what's happening. His trust in his friends, as well as his own power was a form of acceptance of his own circumstances -- sort of anchoring him to the potential of using the power of dreams, the Keyblade.
    The other evidence is the the D23 2017 trailer for KH3. There's a quote at the beginning, just before we get the first glance at the diving mechanic in KH3.
    It says "Don't assume your dreams are just a fantasy. If you can imagine a World, belive in it...and dive in."
    It just screams the concept of Anima Mundi here, and even alludes to the Book of Prophecies, as a tool of realizing the future, which is connected to dreams.
    So, what does that mean? It means that the existence of the World is separated by how you see it, an what it can become. Both outcomes are real, and both can be real. Illusion, or a dream can become reality.
    Explanation. Anima mundi is a compound of three elements. An indivisible and unchangeable substance; basically the World as it is, dreams and reality(X). A substance that is divisible and generated by material bodies; a takeaway from the unseparable amalgamation of dreams and reality(Unchained).
    A third and intermediate kind of substance partaking of the nature of both the indivisible and the divisible; a cross between two that is visible and useable in its full potential(Union Cross)
    They'll start at X. Awaken, and realize the power of dreams, which cross the realm of reality.
    Become Unchained. Use the power of dreams. Later, directly visit the Dream, and get a feeling of the flow of things that are a fantasy. Manipulate it, as well. That'd make the Power of Waking a form of dream-reality manipulation, and explain why Yen Sid tested Sora and Riku through Sleeping World shenanigans in DDD.
    And fulfill their duty through Union Cross. Unify the dreams and reality, and create a World of possibilities. Probably what happened at the end of KHUX, and what further destabilized the World that was split after the Great Keyblae War. Also something that the Master may be planning with Sora, Riku and the rest in the current saga.
    Therefore, we may consequently state that: -Kingdom Hearts- this world is indeed a living being endowed with a soul and intelligence ... a single visible living entity containing all other living entities, which by their nature are all -connected- related
    -Plato
    Just a little note that the World here doesn't mean the planet. It means everything.

      This seems to imply that "worlds" and "realms" are a lot like quantum fields and that accessing Unchained powers is simply "phasing" into that realms' field of influence. In this case, the Keyblade is like a tuning fork made to allow unfettered access to all of reality and linked to your hearts' ability to channel it.
      If so, this pretty much explains all the obscure wacky plot lines.

      I'm sorry but what the hell are you even trying to say? You've typed out what is probably the longest CZcams comment I've ever read but the only thing that was effectively communicated through this acid-fueled sperg rant is the "theory" that cognition essentially dictates reality. Is that it? "Everything is real if you make it real so believe in it"? There's zero substance to saying that within the context of a universe whose metaphysical systems are as vague, obscure and seemingly inconsistent as Kingdom Hearts. It's hardly even conjecture, nothing can be corroborated, especially not on the basis of things as baseless as a line from a trailer. It's really not that complicated. Nomura isn't playing 4D chess here.

      @@FarronMoon That really doesn't explain a single thing to any meaningful degree. "Anything is possible because Keyblades" is not writing, it's closer to a cop-out. • @motionisdead9796
      @motionisdead9796 Před 4 lety +6

      I can admit to the fact that my writing style is pretty chaotic, but I'm pretty confident I presented this idea in a very simplistic way.
      To put it into perspective, what I meant was that the everything that we experience(brushing teeth, eating, watching TV), and the things that we did not(magic, mecha, meeting alien civilizations) are real, because they are an idea that already exist.
      That's the collective unconscious theory of Carl Jung, mixed with innatism, empiricism and rationalism, which I believe are all equal in experiencing reality. So, cognition does not dictate reality(your idea is highly egocentric and pertains to the notion of godhood, not what I'm trying to say), its role is to discover, doubt and accept. In other words, to learn things that you do not know.
      Your comment is quite biased though.
      I'm pretty sure you put your own interpretation over doubt, just because you don't like something about my comment(idk, if it's because I lost your time or you're trying to unload stress, don't care).
      As for the "zero substance" part. That's exactly the reason why it's a theory. I have no way of confirming what this Universe is. Just using evidence provided by quotes that are canon to explain what KH may possibly be about. I agree that Nomura's story-writing is straight garbage, but anyone can at least educate themselves on mythology or other concepts and implement them, to some degree, into their creation. Even Nomura.
      He's not going to explain a lot of them anyways, since he's using references, because they are cool, not because he builds a didactive value for KH .

    7:36 A minor tidbit/correction: According to the movies, the Grid from Legacy and DDD is a second version, not the original. This lines up with Tron stating that the original System was destroyed. However, as the Grid was rebuilt/Version Upgraded by the original programmer, rather than a pirated copy like in Radiant Garden, the `Norts may not see enough of a distinction between the original and the Legacy/DDD iteration to bother bringing it up to Sora.

    Awesome video Mel, I especially like what you did with colors here!
    Regarding the Grid, I think Young Xehanort didn't mean that the World was in the Realm of Light but rather that "what was happening there was real".
    Space Paranoid is a program copied from the Grid by Ansem the Wise, possibly in a period in which he couldn't leave Radiant Garden (he couldn't use Corridors of Darkness and Gummi didn't exist yet), so I think that ENCOM was somewhere in the *World* Radiant Garden.
    This means that if I'm right the World in which The Grid resided (= Hollow Bastion/Radiant Garden) never fell into the Darkness and that Tron was right, the original program was destroyed.
    So what's happening here?
    What Xemnas said, "Data cannot dream", was referred to the world itself and not to Data-people (Tron has a Heart, so he probably can dream). In other words, The Grid doesn't have a Heart = it can't dream = what happens there is real. The people that Sora meet here are real people that were locked in The Grid when it was deleted from the original ENCOM system. And when the program was deleted, the Grid went into the Realm of Sleep.
    I don't think EVERY data-world ever deleted/destroyed goes in the RoS but only the ones that during their demise contains people (or data-people) with Hearts. I mean, you can't just DELETE Hearts.
    What do you think?

    • @TheSecretReports
      @TheSecretReports  Před 4 lety +11

      You are absolutely right in thinking that The Grid was still probably located in Radiant Garden-- something I never even considered until you and another comment here! In my head, because Sam and Flynn are so modern and technical, in my head I thought the city they live in must be some random disney world like one similar to San Fransokyo. But you're right, that doesn't make sense since Ansem the Wise can't leave his world until he becomes DiZ.
      I still can't say for sure though if Tron can dream because even though Tron has _very_ probably grown a heart, his mind was still easily manipulated and recoded by CLU, showing that even if he does have a heart, he still maintains important traits of being data. Even Roxas, being a real person placed in Data Twilight Town in KH2's beginning, was still coded in not being able to say the word 'photo' and even forgot his past completely until he gradually began remembering again, ovewriting the code (like Rizler did when regaining himself with Sora).
      Entertaining the idea that the Grid IS in the Realm of Sleep, then I personally assume that Sam and Quorra (Flynn's up for debate since he never left the Grid at the end of the movie) aren't actually even there, but are figments of the dream repeating itself, like Jiminy and Pinocchio were in Prankster's Paradise. That is NOT confirmed at all, but I'm only thinking so based on how they get out of the Grid at the end of Riku's route. But I do see what you mean about not being able to just delete hearts-- as if the Grid was deleted, and went to the Realm of Sleep as a result, we would have to question the state of Flynn himself.

    - the suggestion that data cannot sleep is really interesting considering the prevalence of data worlds and projections in the fairytale time/worldline

If we take your theory of how the Sleeping/Unchained realm works...what state would you consider Sora to be in during the post credits scene in DDD?
    Before the credits rolled, Sora used the keyblade to return to the Sleeping World of Traverse Town to thank all of the Dream Eaters. Considering that Sora was awake in his regular clothes at the time but in a sleeping world, im not sure what to make of that. I feel it opens more questions than answers.

    • @TheSecretReports
      @TheSecretReports  Před 4 lety

      You sound like you've seen at least multiple of my videos, but on the chance that you haven't seen the one on Sora and Riku's appearance and clothes, I talk about how I really do not think the Realm of Sleep, or Sleeping Worlds specifically, are the reasons why Sora and Riku's clothes change. If it was, then we would see Sora's clothes change every time he goes to the Station of Awakening as well. But if you watch this video, then you can see that Sora's change of clothes is because of other reasons.
      czcams.com/video/Bj2Dmc3m0mU/video.html
      Because of this, I think Sora being in his regular clothes in Traverse Town is very normal. And even Sora visiting a sleeping world while being awake ( but the definition of that could very, as I personally would say anytime anyone visits the Realm of Sleep they fall asleep themselves ) isn't that strange since it's similar to how Sora has always visited the Station of Awakening, in KH2 when Sora fights Roxas, Donald and Goofy say Sora disappeared completely, meaning his body went TO the Station of Awakening-- in contrast to KH1, when we see Sora's body lying on the beach even though he dreams of the Station of Awakening. So it seems like you can visit the Realm of Sleep with and without your physical body leaving the Realm of Light.

But I’m asking because we see Sora come in contact with the dream eaters at the end of DDD. Would that be an example of him in the unchained state. Your video says that because Riku was awake and he still had his dream eater powers, Riku could be considered unchained. However....for Sora at the end credits he was wearing his regular clothes and still being able to see the dream eaters(while I don’t know if he still has dream eater powers). Brilliant video! Very thorough, good work. I've had similar hunches in the past, that as the series goes on, "sleep/dreams" increasingly bleed into "reality" - had never thought to connect that to the Unchained state. I wonder if, on some level, this relates to what's going on with future-Sora in ReMind; I know he's strictly using the Power of Waking, but his actual metaphysical form is in and out of the real world, occasionally appearing to people but then re-entering the RoS at will (his friends' Stations, Xehanort's dream Scala, the Final World); there is also seemingly a relationship here with the ability to time-hop. Possibly similar to whatever state Ephemer is in, especially in his ability to appear to Sora during the Keyblade Graveyard - possibly Ava and some of the other Dandelions, as well, though they are, apparently, not simultaneously existing in the present reality as far as we know. Xehanort is also able to hop across space and time via versions of himself as Portals, which while not the same, is similar in that it suggests free movement between "reality" and "dreams," if I understand Portals correctly. Curious as to the overarching relationship between the Unchained state, the Power of Waking, time-travel abilities, Portals, and the Final World. Quite the puzzle

    One think it think worth mentioning is that the Meow-Wow summon is the only one that doesn't have that gritty elemental texture and the only one that actually seems to make "contact" with the real world, thus the more clearly physical visual/audio effects during combat. It really could be that Soras unsteady grip on his own abilities creates an odd mish-mash of accessible powers.

    I think the reason Riku didn't have the sigil outfit is of a similar reason Dream Eater allies don't appear in most cutscenes in the game; Riku was in the awake Mysterious Tower, which has no threats. Most cutscenes are non-combative, so the Spirits hang out in their wielder's heart until it's time to fight.

    Good theory! The analogy of the pool and being wet was a good visual picture and totally makes sense to me 😄 I think personally I would argue for the Grid being a sleeping world as well as the unchained state being more about the presence of where that person is, but I can totally see “state” being used as like elements being in a liquid, solid, gaseous state; they still exist in the same location but are in a different state. Great to see you back with your amazing presentations and ideas!

    I think there is layers to this, what the characters believe the state of the world is and what the actual state of the world is. I think the REAL world is where Xozora goes when he wakes up, the world of Daybreak town was a dream world created using data similar to Roxas's state in KH2 and later recreated with JUST data into a Data world, the original world before it was broken up was made using the memories and stories of the children in Daybreak town/Scala As Caelum and when a virus(Darkness) damaged the world--the world became the one from KH1, the world of Darkness is the junk data of all the deleted places by darkness(not including Traverse Town which appears to be a location pulled from the world of darkness and The World That Never Was which is likely the same).
    Stepping away from that theory stuff...
    I think the power of waking and being unchained are the same thing, to be unchained by the system of the world requires a key to unlock it and using that logic I would assume that keyblade wielders are those who are granted status as a moderator with the ability to lock and unlock parts of the world, those that possess the X-blade are given Admin access to actually make any changes they deem necessary. Yensid once had a keyblade which may be as a mod as well, and of course Mickey Mouse who may have needed it to be King of a data version of Disney World.

      Hi Gabriel! That is nowhere stated or confirmed that Xehanort nor Sora are 'unchained'. So far the only people who have been stated to be unchained are Player (after our first fight with Ava) and the Dandelions (one of the flashbacks between MoM and Luxu). Other than that, saying anyone else is unchained is only conjecture and not confirmed, since the term is never specifically used in any title outside of X/UX.

    I still believe that summons are technically "canon". Sora is able to summon Simba in KH1. When he reaches Simba's world in KH2, Sora recognizes him as a friend who helped him in the past (KH1), he already knows Simba, so he behaves as if he actually summoned him in the previous game.
    Excellent video btw! :D

    • @thedothackerkeyblademaster
      @thedothackerkeyblademaster Před 4 lety +1

      The summons in KHIII are different from the ones in KH1 & II. In KH1, the summon gems were basically people who survived their world's destruction, but weren't strong enough to keep their forms (Genie and Tinkerbell are the only exceptions); thus could only appear as spirits when summoned by Sora. The summon charms in KHII just seem to pull people from their respective worlds to aid Sora (Stitch is kind of iffy since he was already in Hollow Bastion when Sora got his summon charm). The summons in KHIII seem to be more like the summons from CoM, memories of those characters given physical form, since Ariel appears as a mermaid despite having already become human at this point. Not to mention that KHIII's summons (mainly Simba, Ariel and Stitch) seem to be comprised entirely of some elemental force, when in past games they just seemed to be the normal characters.

What if the player had a bond like that with Strelitzia??? We know that Strelitzia was very fond of the player. She may not be dead, but in a sleeping state. That would explain why the player gets drawn into the unchained state.

    Here's something I still don't understand. How does this relate to the datascape of Data Daybreak Town. The way Ava and others talk about the Unchained state makes it seem like THATS the way the Dandelions enter the digital town.
    My thoughts are that Data Daybreak Town is somehow a data world that combines itself with the Realm of Sleep. This might explain why the Dandelions and Chirithies are then able to combine into Dream Eaters as the program shuts down. They simply slip away into the Realm of Sleep.
    I feel like a datascape combined with a Sleeping World might even be precedented if The Grid is anything to go by- But this all hinges, of course, on Xehanort being wrong that data doesn't 'dream.' Perhaps something like Tron or Data Daybreak Town, is something different from either dreams or datascapes on their own. Perhaps this is what an 'Unchained' Realm is. This would be consistent with Ava and others in KHUx talking about Data Daybreak Town not just as a data projection but as if it's a complete alternate dimension.
    I feel like I'm talking gibberish at this point. Does ANY of this make sense?...

    you really put a lot of effort in your videos and i really like your voice, hope to see more of them, about the unchained state: what if it's affected by external factors Like, if we say, that the unchained state can be achieved by entering the RoS, sora should be in the unchained state since from the first kh, but as we see, he soon get attacked by heartless etc... that's because he doesn't know about the "unchained form" so he can't use it, once sora start his training he recognize this new power and use it, riku does the same and knowing that, he remain in the unchained state until he get back to yen sid's tower "escaping" from sora's dream and that's why he get his normal aesthetic, we also see sora going to traverse town and summoning all the dream eaters. I know it doesn't make a lot of sense, but i'm pretty sure all these plot holes are in there because nomura like to change too much things.

    Crazy theory.... i think Skuld might be Ava. We never see Avas face. And there are no scenes in union cross with both Ava and skuld in them together. She coupd be infilteating the dandelions to change the masters plans. This would also end the debate of "subject x", since both ava and skuld would be correct. She could wven also be darkness, symbolized by her white and pink forteller outfit changing into the dark black skuld outfit. When she found out the masters plan, and that she had a hand in it, it could of opened her heart to darkness and shes using thay to tey to stop the master.

    • @TheSecretReports
      @TheSecretReports  Před 4 lety +1

      I just really don't think Ava is Subject X, because of the Epilogue. Xigbar saying "I guess Ava didn't make it after all" and "I told her, clear as day, what it is I had to do" implies that Ava would indeed know that Luxu's summoning the Foretellers. But Subject X in her entry barely remembers her "four friends" -and if Subject X was Ava, and her "four friends" were the Foretellers, and Xigbar told Ava he would summon the Foretellers, then Subject X would have stated so in her entry. But Subject X made no mention of her "four friends" being summoned in her entry. So one can ask, well maybe Luxu told Ava that BEFORE she lost her memories. But then Xigbar in the Epilogue would KNOW Ava lost her memories and wouldn't come to the reunion anyway because Xigbar carried Subject X away from Ansem the Wise's lab. So Ava being Subject X just doesn't make sense because Subject X's entry and Xigbar's lines in the epilogue don't line up.
      SO because of that, we can be sure that if Ava isn't Subject X, then that leaves only Skuld to be Subject X. And this also means that Ava and Skuld are indeed two different people.

    • @TheSecretReports
      @TheSecretReports  Před 3 lety +2

      Hi! I think this is a great question, and I would like to give a new “updates” pinned comment on all, if not most, DDDiscuss videos now that KHUX is over. In a way, I dont think the ending contradicts this theory, but I dont know if it goes out of its way to support it either. To me personally, this theory is still just “possible” like it was before KHUX’s finale.
      The only particular point I feel the need to make is to remind people that the dream eaters we use in our DDD party are still created from dream pieces and recipes, so I don’t think Sora and Riku fought along side Chirithies or Dandelions in DDD, personally.
      I do think that it was the bridge though, and that its possible in KH3 that the spirits Sora summons are dandelions, since I personally think Sora leaving between DDD and 0.2, Sora getting the dream eater heartbinder, and Sora talking to Ephemer are all connected. Especially since Sora never said anything like “wait, who are you??” to Ephemer, I think there’s a chance they’ve met before. But thats just me personally, I dont have anything to back that up LOL

    Quick question, it seemed you assumed that the data worlds in KHUX were not in the realm of sleep but I was under the impression that entirety of KHUX occurs in the realm of sleep, with the data worlds existing as a loophole so the worlds would seem to continue instead of endlessly looping.
    On the other hand maybe I missed some big story elements because that would make Game Central Station connecting to Data Daybreak Town much more of an anomaly.

    • @TheSecretReports
      @TheSecretReports  Před 4 lety

      It has never been confirmed that KHUX occurs in the realm of sleep, so I do not know how you came to this impression, sorry! You may be thinking about Ava giving her speech to the dandelions where she said the training would take place in the Realm of Sleep ("Today you're here to continue with your training for our mission. This
      session may seem like it's familiar to you, but in a world that is different, one made of dreams.") However, that was TRAINING, and the actual execution was during the scene that Ephemer and Skuld came to Player at the end of the Keyblade War. I will admit that other than a bright flash of light, how the Dandelions actually ENTERED the data worlds is a mystery (especially since they did not know they were in a data world until much later in KHUX's story). Even in very expositional scenes, like the MoM talking to Luxu in Quest 910, MoM never states that the Dandelions would enter the Realm of Sleep after the war.

    Amazing theory. Now I kinda wonder if Sora going to the final world and/or what he did their helped him be unchained in order to talk to ephemer. Would explain why things were differnt the second time as well. Chirithy in the final world does say the realm of death and sleep touch or something like that.
    It seems odd to me that Data can't dream though. Data has light, darkness, and hearts. Why can't a Data world dream. But I can't deny you're evidence that it's a real world is more compelling than not.

    @Fannintendociccio1 Před 4 lety +1

    Once again, lovely gorgeous video as always
    Onto the problem i may have about the theory now, about the dream eaters, so
    Ive noticed one of your main point here was to come to the conclusion that dream eaters, mainly the ones from ddd, cannot exist in the real world, and tried to explain the moments where they are in it as exceptions and such.
    And you were doing a very good job with it, but i realized something when you brought up the pet spirits.
    We were never... Given a confirmation that dream eaters can naturally be born naturally from dreams, like from yen sid at the start of ddd. Which is what i assume you were considering dark chirithy and ddd's spirits to be.
    But.. They arent really. At least, not ddd's! Just like chirithy and the pets, they also need a recipe, and materials! Sora and riku may not used a bottle, but they are still only artificially created.
    Ive just rewatched all the cutscenes where it appears, and the dark chirithy sure seem to know an awful lot about the master of masters' intention and how he used them. They do say they were born by the player's darkness, but even before that, originally, they were a normal actual chirithy, when we see them in the cutscenes, which slowly turned dark. They may even have been the one that faked to be the player's chirithy who gave them the bangle as well, that would make chirithy's reaction when they first see the other chirithy more believable, they arent as surprised as they would be, they noticed them giving the bangle. It clearly goes through a corruption caused by the darkness of the player caused by the guilt, in that sense "born from their darkness".
    The clear thing that differentiates the chirithies from all the other spirits is really, just the fact that Chirithies, as they were made by the master, have way more powers than normal spirits, and can talk.
    As a side not, i would rule out the dream eaters in kh3 as not being summoned the same elemental way as the other disney summons, since they are notably the only one that look exactly like they did in ddd.
    So i do believe, from all of this, dream eaters arent really limited to live in the dream world, but can exist no problem in the real world, it would simplify the situation in general too.
    This fortunately doesnt seem to go against the rest of the unchained discussion, although i was hoping you could try giving your personal shot at the ither oddities going on with the characters of kh3, like riku changing hair after the bizzare "dream drop", the union keyblade and link block being used and stuff like those.

      Joshua says to Riku, _"Why don't we give your dreams shape? In this world, they take form as dream eaters."_ This is where I get the foundation that spirits (at least those in DDD) typically are from a specific person.
      czcams.com/video/RDHOe9vHIOQ/video.html
      I imagine when he says "this world" he means a Sleeping Traverse Town (or a Sleeping world in general), as he later says _"Imagine my surprise, when I found out dreams take physical form in this world"_ when talking about the TWEWY gang right before Sora and Riku unlock Traverse Town for the first time.
      czcams.com/video/_hOozHzCdK4/video.html
      I can you see with the "the 2nd Chirithy may be the one giving the bangle"! Someone else asked me "where do you think the bangles came from?" and I absolutely think the bangles are directly from the MoM, since Ira in back cover (when talking about the dark Chirithy) says he and the others don't concern themselves with the tools at the wielders disposal, so I could easily imagine it was the MoM himself who distributed the bangles among Chirithies, and may have purposely given 1 to our 2nd chirithy rather than our first. Either way, I do think that 2nd Chirithy was born from our Player's dreams, since they show up after our character is in the Station of Awakening (when we choose our unions starting the game; it's not on the story quest list in UX unfortunately so we only see the scene once).

      Also I think Riku getting his hair changed is only as strange as when Mickey loses his shirt in 0.2-- both are causes by a Demon Tower, so I think while they're both... really weird, I personally don't think Riku's hair has anything to do with the Realm of Sleep or being unchained.
      I will say I *COMPLETELY* forgot about the rainbow keyblade (and link block) in KH3! I personally think that only emphasizes _more_ that Sora and Riku could _still_ be unchained, if Reality Shift is truly a power only associated with dreams. I want to say that the case is stronger for the Keyblade more then the Link block, only because the Keyblade is associated with Reality Shift, while the link guard seems to only be a standard move that Sora can learn (though it does power up Dream Eaters in gameplay, so maybe it IS associated with sleeping as well).

      @@TheSecretReports i see, but honestly, the Joshua dialogue REALLY does sound like all of those are just HIS suppositions based on his direct observations, he doesnt really know exactly how all of this dream stuff work. He says, imagine my surprise, and all of that. Especially because there he was referring to the fact neku and the gang's actual dream took shape as themselves, not really the dream eaters.
      Even later in ddd he does realize he made various mistakes in his observations since he really had 0 clues or knowledge about how the dream world works.
      He arrived in this weird place populated by these beings, i would assume that as well, before further investigations that they are animated pieces of material that someone or something mixed up.
      The clear cut explanation so far as to dream eaters being made is just from mom creating them in the lab or recipes.
      Otherwise there would be more weird confusing stuff, like if that second chirithy was made naturally, does that mean all the other wielders had a second chirithy(which doesnt seem to be the case in back cover and chi) ? Why doesnt sora, riku, kairi have one? Are they just for wielders, people who go to the sleeping realm, or anyone that dreams? It seems a bit bizzare, especially when the dream eater created isnt even a simple one like ddd's, but a chirithy even, which really seem exclusive to mom, made by him with no natural observations of similar stuff beforehand. Ava and everyone didnt know what those were, mom had to explain it to them. Same for spirits, they didnt exist at all before MoM made Chirithies out of nothing, since they are based on Chirithies, while dreams and sleeping realm was very much a thing beforehand.

    Hi, Mel! First of all, I LOVE your videos. I've always been frustrated by other videos who put their own interpretations without saying why they think the way they do, so thank you! I have been rewatching all of your videos, and I had a couple of questions. Note: I do not at all want to act like I'm an immovable force on KH lore. I'm just a curious fan!
    Statement/Question 1:
    I may be late to the game, but I have been on board the "Ava is Darkness" boat ever since I first heard about it. In your video, "Ava is incognito as Darkness", you mention how Luxu had to transfer his heart from vessel to vessel for all of those centuries and that Ava is possibly hiding in the Realm of Darkness. It seems that whenever Luxu transfers his heart to another vessel, he retains all of his memories and powers. Is it possible that Ava can do this as well. I strongly believe that Ava is Darkness, but this could also explain why we haven't seen Ava after all these years, and possibly why she wasn't summoned back at the end of KH3 as you said. Because she didn't need to be brought back with the other Foretellers. She is already alive, and watching from a distance or maybe even from up close. Because if she transferred her heart to new vessels like Luxu, she would also retain her power of illusion as well and be able to take on a new persona to stay hidden if necessary.
    Statement/Question 2:
    In your video on the Sleeping Keyholes, you mentioned a couple different ways that there are more than 7 sleeping keyholes. However, is it possible that there really are only 7 sleeping keyholes. Each one tied to a different Guardian of Light? For instance throughout DDD, every time sora/riku locked or unlocked a sleeping keyhole it was the same keyhole, but it is tied to them. Almost like the keyhole itself, which again is tied to each guardian of light, is part of the key to awaken the sleeping world/sleeping heart. Then each Guardian can learn to facilitate travel between sleeping worlds, between the sleeping world and the real world, and into sleeping hearts to awaken them using the sleeping keyholes power if they gained the Power of Waking. This would mean that there are actually 7 sleeping keyholes, while still allowing much of your extremely well thought out theories remain true and also giving truth to the statements about sleeping keyholes that Yen Sid makes.
    I hope these questions make sense!

    Heya~ This is just something j wanted to leave here for...discussion thinking or whatever. It's something I wrote in my party chat for KHUx as I got thinking about stuff. Just know some of it may be answered as I barely remember stuff from interview videos that discuss the Utimania. Anyways here it is:
    "Also something I realized as a theory. What if the "X" symbol belongs to someone else. We the fans knew the X symbol belongs to anyone that is affected by Xehanort. But if you think about it, before he knew of time travel how would he know what/(about) the sigil? And how would he place it on people's clothing that would be otherwise out of place. Unless people saw it as an aesthetic design or it something reminiscent of the old culture or something. Otherwise it's out of place. Anyways my point is what if the "X" symbol belongs to Darkness or any ancient evil of darkness? Basically anything before MoM. But that leaves that one problem. How was it before the MoM came to be. And what was the most ancient keyblade war about. And what was the reason for it? Good and evil? Opposing views? It's that one piece of the very beginning or the genesis of the KH universe that we're losing that gives us the very foundation of a context clue of why everything is happening in Sora's timeline.
    But then again there's the technical FF univeese now, so I wonder how that plays out. And how it makes sense for the KH universe. Unless it's a shared universe. But I'm going with the 2 different universes idea just in case. Because MoM is (in) Shibuya/Yorzora's world. An if it's 2 different universes, are we going to get that context clue of how everything started? And another thing. What exactly are Keyblades and why are they sentient in a sense? Why do they exist? Why can they choose their master regardless if they turn out evil? This reminds me of my story idea(s)of sentient swords/weapons of why they exist and why they have intelligence to communicate with their chosen wielder. Then again that concept isn't new.
    But now I got myself thinking now~ What exactly are Keyblades. Are they created or forged weapons that someone special made that might have divinity and thus they have intelligence to choose their master. Or they always around, but dormant till humanity came into existence. But why would they exist then. Arrghhh! I hope Nomura answers these questions! I really got myself thinking now of these concepts and theories!
    I edit in the () as add-ons to my incorrect grammar structure. That or sentence structure. Anyways, I tend to think about these kind of things, especially when I'm creative thinking for creative writing. Although I have the Nomura kind of writing as I don't like to kill off my characters permanently as I want to use them later in the future for my huge cross-over universe that I call the Fan Fiction Universe, due to me crossing stories with new or existing characters for the story idea. And when I'm done with those characters, I tend to ad them to the bigger plan of said universe~ Heck I even created arcs that revolve around a universes tournament of which character will end up winning bragging rights if being the strongest being. Of course there's more to it and in said tournament, no one can does it's just video game mechanics when they fight. Which doesn't translate well into books, but I'll figure it out~ otherwise, everything is just head cannon so far~
    Other than that, anyone got anything similar to what I thought of or their own theories and ideas they want to share? I known I should put this stuff in a forum on Kh13.com or something. But I lack the means to make that easier for me.

    Okay 2 things to say about this:
    1: I think the DE not apearing on cutscenes is just because some of them are so big and others are so small that they could give problems. Also since they don't have the same animations, it would be really dificult (and very storage expensive since 3ds could only handle 4gb games) to have them in scenes.
    2: The problem with The Grid is that Riku and Sora really have diferent adventures in theyr time there. This can easly be solved since Riku is not in the real world, but in Sora's dream of that real world, right?

    • @TheSecretReports
      @TheSecretReports  Před 4 lety

      Right I see you with the dream eater thing. But it still only emphasizes the idea that there are scenes where Riku should still have Dream Eaters around, even in the real world.
      And with the Grid, I also see you. But their stories never actually align, so they go to the same places, but it's at different times, and that could explain why we never see them together IF the Grid is a real world after all. I double checked both Sora and Riku's cutscenes before replying just to make sure ;)

    Thank you for the video! This is really cleverly articulated. I like the tie-ins to the Grid and to KH3. I don't think it makes sense, though, that heartless and nobodies cannot "detect" someone who is unchained. This (1) is incongruent with Player fighting heartless after becoming unchained, though this could be explained by BoP/Data boondoggle; and (2) obviously runs afoul of your notion that Sora may be unchained in KH3. So, I think it may be simple enough to say that TWTNW was "cleared out" or abandoned after the events of KH2. Besides, Riku sees nobodies just prior to the YMX fight.
    One more unexplained event that points toward Sora (and Riku) being unchained in KH3 is the reality shift in the Realm of Darkness. There could be something unique about the RoD which aligns it more closely to the Realm of Sleep (like the Final World), but I can't recall any evidence we have of that.
    Thanks! This is good food for thought, and looking forward to the next series. And the saturation is very good.
