Different heads make the difference top end. Here the power to weight is the same so a 2.0 staying with a 3.5 on top end is understandable with the k20s head. That's where our power is made anyways. DEs are slow, but a HR is different cause of the heads.

Z’s are pretty quick for what they are but it takes more than full bolt ons and tune to keep up with a lightly modded HR 350Z or 370Z. Had a close friend of mine with a full bolt on, gutted 9th civic si with a tune and still get gapped by an HR 350z with just an intake and exhaust.

Vs 8th gen si, no passengers, slightly quicker shifter. Results like this would happen again assuming variables are similiar. Better driver in the Z, the Z would have been ahead by a pinch. Remove passenger from Z, Z would pull away slightly. Si driver shifted as fast as Z driver, it may have fallen behind. All in all, specifically, the k20z3 is a real 4cylinder contender. And both DE and HR engines are great. With equal mods (I/H/E/tune) the results would usually end up with HR>DE>SI (Assuming no passengers, equal skilled drivers, roll starts, or digs with similar tires, and all cars are working functional as they should)

Factory for attacking and carving circuit track corners but as usual Americans they always take these cars and make them for the straight line it's sad really because circuit racing is where those cars really shine as for the fairlady z it looks like the commuter version sad*

K24 and k20 is about identical. I raced two different FBO 9th gen si with my FBO 8th gen and I beat them by half-car length. Only time I lost to them is when they upgrade to ported rbc or skunk 2 ultra with 1000 injectors on e85.
@@MsDejavue K24 has more torque and better low to mid range acceleration. The torque for the K20 is pretty much non existent but they seem to do well top end

Our 8th gens still don’t come with the best flowing k20 head. We can always get a better head for better top end too

Header, intake, 3inch exhaust, pulley, j35 throttle body and Hondata. You should be able to keep up and maybe even beat those 350z hr on a 40 roll.

8th gens are better than 9th gens especially because of the rbc intake manifold.
