Great video. Just bought one of these KR125s to replace an old MF 10-8 square baler that was breaking my heart (and my back!). What weight of twine are you finding works well with this? The book recommends 400-600 m/kg (approx. 600-890 ft/lb) but the fine twines available all seem to be around 1000 m/kg (1488 ft/lb). Do you find that's critical or do you just go for whatever fine twine is on the shelf at the store? Also, I couldn't quite make out the model number of the New Holland tractor you were using or I'd've looked it up myself but what hp is it putting out? It sure seemed to be zipping along there, very impressive. And finally.. you mentioned the bales looked a little looser, has this been an issue in the 3 years since you made the video? Do they stack and store easy? Excuse the barrage of questions - you know what it's like when you get a new machine! Great channel btw, looking forward to mining your back catalogue 👍
My krone had dogs that disengaged your chains when you opened your door to drop a bale. Then when closed they engaged the chains again. It was up under where your twine mechanism is. Yours should stop to. Its a cable that runs it sometimes they get out of adjustment but mine was a kr 151 exact same twine set up that was a awesome tying set up.
Nice looking hay Ted think one thing making bales look fluffy is not much stem I like the soft core bales for helping them to breathe doesn't matter with silage bales
I have a kr 125 classic line baler simple design works brilliant you have some nice hay good luck with your silage hope the weather holds greetings from wales
Good luck with the weather how do you get on with the kubota tractor i run 2 same dorado tractors our local dealer has finished selling same tractors and now got kubota dealership
When I was a young'un a cpl of my uncles had krones the first few years they came out. They seemed to work pretty well. I like the way you and your friend swap equipment Ted. Cheapens things up for everyone.
If the hay is short or chopped like it went through a brush hog, it will leave a bale ragged looking. It was taking a lot of hay in, I was wandering how tight the bales were. MB BAR RANCH
The bales were pretty tight. Only one wasnt. That was the half bale. I guess with a softcore you wont make a tight bales unless the chamber is full. Yes they hay was thin
the little krone is getting it done!! soft core isn't bad because it can let the bale breath a little better.
That makes sense.

My 125 has also that, older model, red one. You can adjust that clutch but maybe this model doesn't have that.
Your bales would look better if you would slow down. Kick pto off when dumping it will save ware

Also try turning off the pto when dumping so the bale is not as ragged. It fluffs like that when it backspins ejecting.
Thats good to know. I think even fluffy like that they should wrap alright.
Enjoying your videos don't always comment but I'm here watching.
Thanks soybean farmer.

Yeah this late in the year will be a treat probably trying to schedule 2 nice days in a row

I love my kubota. It's the m7040 pre admissions. For our size hobby farm a tractor of that size and capability is perfect.
Wonder if you could add a couple gathering wheels to the pickup on the baler like my Vermeer has. Hay looks good.
We were looking into it. Not a whole lot of places to mount them.
Off to a good start with that little krone and with some TLC its should do the job just fine i think man thanks for sharin
Thanks for stopping in aj. I honestly think we will have this around for many years to come. It's a solid well thought out machine
Well, I didn't have to wait long! lol Works pretty well!
Cant wait to do the baleage. Wrapper is coming Tuesday
Working good! Always nervous use a used piece of equipment the first time. What size are the bales again?
4×4 softcore
Parcel we used to have a krone baler

Yes more equipment at our disposal for half the price
Thats what helps Devan and my operation also.
