What's the biggest upgrade / downgrade ? 😉🔥
Downgrade: Hybrid ;)
@@stayhigh22 why? In what way does that make the car worse?
Makes good noise, more power, more efficent, the car looks super agressive.
Please explain your point.
@@tiagosilva2471 Well it adds weight, something you don't want in motorsport. You could reach the same goals with a stronger combustian engine with less expense. But yes it is modern and manufacturers want to sell hybrid and electric cars so we will see.
@@stayhigh22 you're telling me that you don't like the hybrid system because it adds 100 kg to the car? Lol
@@tiagosilva2471 And you don't achieve very much with a complicated system.
On-throttle: 4 cylinder rally car.
Off-throttle: 12 cylinder World War II bomber.
FORREAL
🤣🤣🤣
If this hybrid is still based on the GR Yaris, it's a 3 cylinder.
@@se7enhaender its a 4 cylinder. You can hear it too
@@shintanaru I can't find any information that confirms nor contradicts your claim, so I'll remain sceptical. Sorry but listening isn't enough evidence for me.
Do you have link to share that confirms this?
"How much anti lag do you need?"
"A10 Warthog"
lmao literally thinking of the a10
da ting goes BRRRRRRRRRT
Brrrttttt 😂😂
Ya that anti lag is top notch. Its like it has a damper on it that sends it through a water tank or something.lol so it doesnt sound like a ak47 next to you when it drives by
@@mjspeedzone5532 still need people to get close enough to the track without exploded eardrums...
In case you're wondering... Yes, this car does indeed have a GAU 8/A Avenger for an engine. It's fuelled entirely with 30mm blanks, and the electric motor is used to spool it up.
Source: I actually helped design the GR Yaris.
gz
I never thought I'd be wanting a rally car to take their foot off their throttle more so I could hear the anti lag more.
To be honest if that car goes out on to the stage with these side intakes, some mental paint job and that off trottle machine gun, i'm gonna cry tears of joy
The paint is temporary camo.
I think you will cry of joy because this is just a mule so the final one will be even better looking. Right now is missing all aero stuff on the front and on the sides and maybe those side intakes will be even bigger. Btw the paint job really transforms the car. For example the new Hyundai i20 rally 2 wasn’t that good but with the official livery it is perfect.
@@bepi1332 can't wait bro. Can't fucking wait. This shit sounds insane
I’m gonna be crying right with you. Lol. This car is a riot!
All cars should look like tbis
off gass sounds like a a10 warthog shooting its cannon
I thought I'm the only one who thought of that, true lol
exactly what came to my mind when hearing it :D
may will have PTSD hearing that hahaha
the crowds in some countries will be diving for cover
RB blown diffuser :D
Bruh this WRC car is amazing. sound is 10/10 when he lets off, sounds like blown F1 exhaust
YES ! this exactly my thoughts as well.
"How much anti-lag do you need?"
"C-RAM"
Exactly what I was thinking of, it's music 👌

Those side intakes make it look like a Delta S4, and I’m not complaining.
Was just about to comment the same 👌🏼
@@leebroadbent1340 me too.
Only the Delta S4 was designed to be that shape, this car however is supposed to be an existing Yaris and it needs to have bits stuck to it. So it's not really the same and to be honest... I don't like the conflict of round lines with box shapes.
I think it would've been better to make the rally car first... a purpose build monster and than build the road car based on it.
To each their own though. We all have different tastes, and this comes from someone who owned a Lancia Delta HPE.
@@LogiForce86 The Delta S4 was based on the standard Delta as well (bodywise) so it was designed to be that shape just as much as yaris. What under the body was completly different from road going delta, but the body itself is technicaly the same (higly modified, just like all the other rally cars)
@@TheLiberek Actually... no. At least, not exactly. Is true that the Delta S4 was similar to the standard Delta, but this was done to boost the selling of the road car.
The S4 was a completely different beast, compared to the original Delta.
It sounds like a mad angry monster beast screaming loudly. I looove the sound OMG. I can’t imagine how it feels to hear it live

Geez, that anti-lag almost sounds like he's switching on a jake brake, that is utterly nutty!
These cars are starting to look as crazy as group B cars looked like. Love it!
Group B has returned, it's the beginning... Let the brands make prototypes for wrc like in the 80's, at this moment the event organizations are well organized and the cars are safer, let the freedom that group B had.
@@fabiomonteiro3896 Just removing the stupid crowd is already 90% safer. lol
The current ones already look like them. Faster too
That off throttle sounds nuts
it´s an antilag turbo system which keeps puting fuel in the engine to keep the turbo spinning to avoid the turbo lag when you floor the gas again.
Sounds similar to the f1 system
@@cristopherhenriquez4850 yea its so cool
@@Big1_ it is ALS but is more aggressive then ever ….It might just use some sort of system to recoup energy into the battery kind of like MGU-H in f1

A device to keep pressure up in your turbo.
Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrt
In the Jeremy Clarkson voice, "those side intakes look like they were ripped off a harvester and superglued to each side...and what puzzles me more, is that like it (astounded face)"
That sound is like a big rig downshifting. So cool
one of the best anti-lag suonds ever wtf
Sounds very similar to Red Bulls F1 blown diffuser in 2011
With Toyota’s experience already with hybrid tech in racing hard to not see them as favorites again next year
as far as i know it is the same hybrid system for all teams made by a complete different company (please correct me if i am wrong)
@@rekanius2616 damn that sucks
@@philips6182 yes, on the other hand using the same system saves money and maybe all three manufacturer are on an equal performance lvl.
Well Toyota also made the fastest rally car. And this time they wont start with all the electrical problems they had 2017-18. So I doubt that they ll be outperformed by Hyundai and Msport.
Yeah it is a spec system (for now at least) but their experience in WEC sure won't hurt. Still lots of ancillary systems to figure out.

Oh yeah its a hybrid so it very economic!
Thank goodness! Was worried I wouldn't find any new easy listening for this week's dinner party!
wasnt so impressed myself, but i like your musictaste for a dinner P
When they go off throttle reminds me of F1 with blown diffusers in 2011.
YES, i was thinking the same!!!!
i'm sure it's functional and it will blow diffusers. there is no reason for a rally car to make these noises for fun.
going to comment the same
@@deadmoldable it's the antilag, to keep the turbo spinning so it doesn't lag when you need to get back on the gas. it is similar with the newer honda f1 engines, but wrc cars uses the antilag device instead of altering the engine maps like in f1
so true though
I really like the "BRAP BRAP BRAP" sound from the exhaust
*When you want to be a fighter plane pilot but rally is life*
That sound when it’s off the throttle is to die for
I think I need a lie down in a darkened room and a cigarette... and I don't even smoke...
Looks-wise this is pure group-B inspired, Metro 6r4/Lancia Delta S4 porn... Oh wow... I need a moment...
Same thoughts, getting closer to group B little by little!
I was looking for this comment. Agree with you fully.
Couldn’t have said it better myself
Is that the anti-lag causing that godly sound when it lifts off the throttle?
Yup
i suppose so. sounds bloody agressive
It sounds like it’s engine braking and cutting timing/fuel to help slow the car down faster.
@@Quahmayee their brakes are beefy enough for that, its just antilag
@@Quahmayee you're underestimating their braking power, they have brake ducts for cooling. if the brakes are overheating they'll just increase intake size, judging by the video its pretty small.
also i legit have never heard of cutting timing to engine brake, just let off the gas bro?
antilag has been the staple of rallying since ever and this car sounds just like any other turbo wrc cars
I love that when downshifting it makes that same cracking sound as the Redbull Formula 1 of 2011 with the blow diffuser.
green peace: we want hybrid cars for the world
Toyota motorsport: look we made a hybrid rally car
green peace: wtf, its a monster
The primary reason for the first wave of hybrids was more because of rising fuel prices. They were constantly advertised more on "Look at how much money you save driving it."

Im not gentle with my car and it always consumes like 5l per 100kmh, its insane.

As much as I love and grew up with Group B cars, these cars are faster even with half the horsepower. The way that they take the curves flat out could not be done in a Lancia S4 much less an Audi Quattro Sport
Half the horsepower?Say no more. With the power from electric motor for Rally1 car,now the car can reach 500 HP.

C'est carrément du high-rake de F1 là.
That thing it's actually not bad, the car looks and sounds good to. I don't think What's the problem with the hybrid system 🤷🏾♂️
In fact they use the same Engine for Stages. Electric is for the "liaison" between stages. Only. People don't understand this since last year.

anti lag sounds like an A10, gotta love it
This is epic! Can't wait 2022 WRC season!
Looks very Lancia like with the pods - is the anti-lag acting like a charging device for the battery!?
Don't know how that would work. Anti lag happens without sending power down the drive train were regenerative charging happens at the elctric motors.
I had this same feeling.

I'm confused as to what the off throttle throttle overrun has to benefit this ! Can someone explain ? Or is it a boost regulating thing as a part of antilag?
Maybe some rules like WEC, not sure, in this video explain why they lift
czcams.com/video/uBgjOTxsvD0/video.html
That distinctive "Brapppapappapapa" sound you hear when the driver goes off-throttle is the turbo anti-lag system running.
An anti-lag system is basically a way to keep the turbo spooling/spinning even when the driver is off the throttle. The anti-lag works by burning or combusting excess fuel (when the driver is off the throttle), this combustion/ignition is very precisely timed to go straight to the exhaust and will help spin the turbo instead of pushing the pistons of the engine.
In short, the reason to why an anti-lag system is used is to prevent turbo-lag.
Finally back to where we belong Group B....
Ok I don't like hybrid and electric cars, but this one SOUNDS MENTAL, BRUTAL!!!!!!
because what you're hearing has nothing to do with the hybrid system.
Best antilag sound ive ever heard, wow!
Compare this to the new Puma Rally1 and it's quite easy to say that TGR has once more gone over the top with their body-kit design 👌

This is going to look like the return of Group B for real where manufacture has no restriction on Hybrid system.

I'm not usually a fan of the sound that rally cars make, but this is an exception. This sounds tough as!
Yup, the car looks very stable at higher speed.
The high voltage battery definitely contribute to that.
@@alanmay7929 The huge lateral scoops and the rear radiators would permit to eject heated air faster and lowering the pressure under the bottom of the car to replace the now forbidden diffuser . At high speed it would also add a little bit more thrust .
