Agreed. I've been umpiring LL for 21 years and have seen just about everything but this....in this game at that moment is a play that'l live forever. I've seen this many times when a team wins a championship or big game that could've gone either way, the winning team almost feels bad about celelbrating too much. Incredible comeback by Florida in the US Championship game as well. They deserve to win.

Although I’m not a huge fan of the LLWS being from Florida I watched this whole game I played baseball all my life and now work for MLB I actually got teary eyed watching my home state team win it all for the first time in history WAY TO GO LAKE MARY you guys made us proud!!!

What a incredible game. I watched it from start till finish. Congratulations to all those involved. And those Florida kids are gonna be instant celebrities. (Especially in there hometown) 💫
And on their ninth attempt they get it! It makes me feel sad for Apopka and Boynton beach because they were close too(well Apopka was)
So awesome watching the kids celebrate, then immediately console the Taiwan team. Coaches and parents you should be proud . It’s one thing to win in an intense manor like this, but another to control your emotions after and be there for each other no matter what team. So awesome
American children are gentle and polite. As Taiwanese, thank you for comforting our children.

As a Taiwanese American I just don't know how to feel about this one. My heart breaks for the kid who made the error but is filled for the coach who came to comfort him. Sportsmanship at its finest. Great showing for both teams.

They did until about 20 years ago, now if you're from another country within the last couple generations, or any length of time if you aren't white, people tell you you aren't really American. The second baseman messed up. He should of covered 1st on a bunt especially because there wasn't a runner on 1st. Instead he went to second base
Even if there was a man on first, the shortstop would cover second, Taiwanese coach shoulda went over all this before the pitch in anticipation of the bunt
@@no-such-team-as-spungosyou can’t assume the coach didn’t went over it, but in the heat of the moment maybe the players just messed up, we see this all the time, even in pro sports.
If it were me with the automatic runner on second rule starting in the 8th inning u tell my first basemen do not set your feet anywhere on the infield grass. He is planted at first regardless. The second baseman back up the throw to first in case it is overthrown. Right fielder is too far away.
If your first baseman charges the bunt and your pitcher foes as well there can be too many players in a close proximity as rje batter is running down to first as well.
I'm surprised Chinese Taipei didn't bunt the runner to third in the top half of the 8th.
You automatically each and every time to the plate if the game remains tied you always sacrifice the first out to get your runner to third. Florida embraced thus concept. Chinese Taipei seemed to not grasp this concept both on the offensive side and their defensive side as well.
It was an all time classic game and Florida showed tremendous class in winning. Congrats to them.
Im 55 yrs old and grew up in the next town over from last years Champion El Segundo. Baseball in Southern California has always been real important in our lives growing up. So fun to watch.

Seeing that display of immediate sportsmanship towards Taipei by the Lake Mary FL players and their coaches was absolutely priceless! Shows extreme maturity from 11-13 year olds that's sorely lacking within the collegiate and professional sports worlds! How many times have we seen LeBron James walk off the floor while games are still in progress to where he could learn a valuable lesson from these LLWS athletes a full generation younger and then some! That is extremely sad but at the same time was refreshing to see in Williamsport

That was an amazing championship game!! Chinese Taipei had Florida beaten all throughout this game until the 6th, but some miscommunication on the field led CT to giving up runs both there and on this 8th inning.
One thing is certain: these boys may have futures in this sport coming soon.

Nice one FL. Hard to believe Taipei would make an error like that, 2nd baseman went to 2nd for absolutely no reason instead of covering 1st. Very basic thing so hard to figure out why now but thank goodness.
That appeared to be just an attempt at a sacrifice. There was nobody out. It would have set up a runner at third with just 1 out. Great coaching by Florida, but man, that will be a nightmare for years for the Taiwan first baseman (even though the second baseman should have been there).

Last I saw the second baseman was standing around the bag at second staring at home..yeah the pictcher should have held it, but the second baseman was asleep... One of the most exciting games I've seen in the llws..... Congratulations Florida!!!

@@AEMoreira81 back in the seventies, when bunting was a big part of the game, we practiced our bunt coverage quite a bit in the infield as 11 and 12 year olds... I'm left-handed and was the first baseman so I knew all about responsibilities lol

This is Taiwan (or as the broadcast calls it, Chinese Taipei). The entire point of Taiwan is to be a true republican form of government compared to mainland China. But it will be a long bus ride to New York and then a plane ride back to Taipei.

My husband coaches for over 20 years at almost every level and I remember him teaching the 2nd baseman and SS to always follow the ball and cover the base in the direction the ball is hit when my son was 7. The fact that the 2nd baseman was covering second base on a bunt is terrible. I've watched easily over a thousand live games and only saw it happen when the team we played were horribly coached. Congrats on laying down a nice bunt and taking advantage of the other team's ineptness. USA!
Second basemen should of been there, but still, just hold the ball if nobody's there. I tell all the kids I ever coached, it's so important to put the ball in play, anything can happen.
