They were about to release one of the best rock albums of all times (if you ask me), and possibly their best one... a massive step forward after Strings joined, no doubt!
This is the band at the absolute height of their powers just after Strings (RIP) joined. Love the extended Born Broke from this era. If folks when to check out a top flight rendition, the Payin the Dues bonus live disc is where its at.
For example they play “bad boy boogie” at hultsfred 2002 in that part. And now this year the go in to “fortunate son” I have a feeling this is a kiss riff but I could be wrong

Do you know what riff they’re playing in the middle of it?
@@Emilmoolin I didn't know it was a riff from another song. Though it was all semi-improvised or prepped for the tour in the jam room etc.
@@Furens I recognize it but can’t put my finger on it, they usually jam a riff from another artist in that part of the song
