  • Finding "interesting" things to fix has been the theme of the whole VR4 restoration. Episode 3 is no different with fuel pump and engine managment issues to resolve. Can we get it running again? Tune in to find out!

Unfortunately anything VR4 or Evo is very hard to get hold of here.

@@rallyactionwa you bet. I have 2 gsr s and some leftovers from others. The bits are drying up. Maybe Mitsubishi heritage spares?
I'm also having trouble finding 94 wrx bits to . There is definitely a Window for good parts before drug money prices kick in.. I would love to find my old Bc5 Legacy Rs type R , one of 6 bought in for the Australian rally championship s, or buy back my old Group G rx2 coupe. But reality of economics comes in to play.
I believe you did the right thing upgrading that fuel sender set up, nice .
Also Fto s have evo steering racks in them.
I have a magna ralliart AWD promo car in rally of Canberra war paint. Do you have any info on these. There is one in Cairns hospital car park, one at Bacchus marsh rally school and I believe the 2 competition cars are in Mildura. Any help would be great.

@@petergracemeguide1280 Yes bits on the older Group A cars are harder to find now. Most of the GC WRX stuff is already crack prices! We had a Celica GT4 ST165 in our team for a long time. Luckily we were able to hunt down a couple of wrecks to use for spares.
The Ralliart Magnas were a strange beast. I believe all of them were automatic (including the works car), utilising the AWD transmission from a JDM Mitsubishi. Ross Dunkerton would be the man to ask about them as he drove one for Ralliart here. Apart from that we don't know much about them.

@@rallyactionwa i regret selling my st165 it was a fantastic road car. Heavy in wheel bearings, I used to have sacrificial camry sv21 ones on hand. Then tungsten weld up x hatched figure 8 . These last a lot longer. At least mine stayed in sth Australia. Unlike most cars going to Sydney or Brisbane. Is any one rallying a colt ralliart? My little brother is street n tracking one with 135kw at the wheels.
But your right what becomes economically then difficult to rally just look at datsun s. I can say these awd magnas take a good punishment in 90% dirt country roads, and I've had some awesome cars. Again there now cheap have a feeder poverty pack for spares . New heads $165 /300pr but the auto trans is a little doe ee for me. Gto 3000gt face the wrong way and break like early galants and evos.
I would go rallying in one if I could reliability solve the trans to manual and strength issue. Cause the mazdas and gsr s , gt4 s are just to expensive now.
Keep up the good videos and race on

great job troubleshooting those issues, that trigger wheel in the CAS would have stumped most people. Is this just a customer car getting fixed and sent out or will it be running with you guys in future rallys?

Cheers! This car will be part of our team in future rallies. If all goes to plan it should be back out on the stages later this year.
