Phenomenal video, try holding the handle of the whisk between two open hands, and rubbing your hands together like you're trying to start a fire, and you won't destroy your forearms and have an extremely strained facial expression when whisking egg yolks / whites / cream to peaks. 1000 times easier, equally effective, much more casual. Thanks for the recipe.

Dude, this recipe is fantastic. I haven't tried it with the 81 proof, but with the 101 proof 12oz does the trick. Thank you

You are the closets bartender to make it how we do. However, our rule is it has to sit in the refrigerator at least 2 hours to marinade so to speak. Allow the flavors to meld.

My grandma's family recipe doesn't call for cooking the cream and milk, so I love that this recipe doesn't either. Going to try this method of mixing the ingredients this year. 😁

Also, you could substitute amaretto as the alcohol. It fits pretty well also.

I keep reading how the made from scratch is a million times better, but honestly. What is eggnog? It's literally just 1) Milk 2) Cream 3) Egg 4) Sugar, in that order. How much better can made from scratch be? Those four things taste good in combination, period, because it's just a massive amount of fat and sugar in smoothie form. I've had both, and they're equivalent.

It'll last a week ??? Uh no, some people age their nog for a few weeks before even taking a first taste. Can stay good for months, even heard of people keeping a batch for over a year, but personally I think a month is about as far as I'd go with it

I used to have the same mentality......"why go to all this trouble when there's several good store bought brands that taste fine?" Well after years of thinking about making nog and never getting around to it, I finally made a couple batches this year using 2 different recipes so I could compare them. They both blow the doors off any store bought eggnog. Glad I finally made my own, and I'm still gonna tweak the recipe a little until I have it dialed in just right. For first time making it I'm pleased with the results.
