We needed a big point guard to deal with the likes of SGA, Luka, and others. Dilly is just too small, and his defense is an issue. The reason why folks don't like Trae Young... all offense, no defense.

Picks that come up when Wemby is 26, 27, 28, and that team better be built up and contending already by that time. Then again, Gobert and KAT will be aging out and possibly traded/retired by then, and who knows who they get back to help. Ant could miss a year or leave by then, and that ends up being a high pick going to the Spurs on a team already over the salary cap with Wemby and others on max contracts or near maxes, and they could end up with an elite, cheap talent. Edit: also those 1st round picks could be used as trade assets for key supporting players to fill out a contending Spurs team in Wemby's prime.
